I heard a 'theory' on the Everton 'pink' strip. Everton at some point briefly wore white (or predominantly white shirts) a trainee butchers staff member was tasked with washing the strip but managed to include a few bloodied aprons in with the load. The result, not surprisingly left a light pink hue to the shirts. What with cost etc, they played out the remainder of the season in these tainted shirts. Hello there, would you talk about the 2020 UEFA Nations League and If it needs a draw, I mean, would France and Netherlands play in the same spot ALL OVER again??? And agaisnt who of the previous League B, Ukraine??
For a long period of time Everton and Liverpool had the same format/design in kit (not colour) they both had their colures Blue and Red for the jersey and they both had white shorts white socks. The difference/change came in the November of the 1964/65 season ... Liverpool stopped the white shorts/socks and changed to an All Red kit.
3.27: Where he says their first league match at Goodison was a 2-2 draw with Nottingham.. He means Nottingham Forest. Goodison opened in time for the 1892-93 season. The 1892-93 season was the first year that their was a 'first' and 'second' division. It also meant that the First Division was extended from 14 teams to 16 teams. Notts County were already in the 'first' division, and Forest and The Wednesday were added to the number. (Everton beat Notts County 6-0 when they played at Goodison)
BD Wednesday 100%, I remember my grandad telling me about how it truly crippled Everton as a side. He went to games around this time and told me about how many of our greatest players left due to a lack of European football. When the ban was lifted many other teams regained some class in new players they brought in but Everton never really did which led to Everton becoming a side which didn't return to its former glory. If not for this ban then being an Everton fan could be a lot different to what it is now, we could be a possible top 4 team now if we kept our good players as good players attract new talent, and that new talent will eventually attract more new talent and so forth. Unfortunately, that's just how football goes but my family has continued to support the club- there isn't a family member that I know of that has not supported Everton. Hopefully we get a good result tomorrow!
Na they wer a good domestic side , and fantasizing Europe trophies into your cabinet is sad, just because Liverpool and Everton wer very good doesn’t mean they would have won anything in Europe, what’s done is done what’s won is won
John Lyons I didn't say that they would have definitely won, I'm saying that the side would have been shaped a lot differently to what it is today, changing the level of the side.

The establishment of Everton was before 1878, as they were a cricket club. Football was played with the players playing both cricket and football, sometimes on the same day.
Thats not true. They wanted to double the rent as well as make the profits from pies ale etc. Everton made a counter offer and started looking for land incase they were knocked back.

Notts County were already in the 'first' division, and Forest and The Wednesday were added to the number. (Everton beat Notts County 6-0 when they played at Goodison)
Good job
The ‘friendly derby’ not for about 25 years mate
Family's are still split alone team lines, try find a Glasgow family still talking that father supports one and son or daughter the other
Not only Everton feel robbed by Liverpool of European football, about 10 other clubs hold a grudge
He said everything just like we are Charting one on one in my room
50 year old lad from Liverpool, just learnt something,Cheers Mate
After Sunday's game you know we now need the North London Derby ;)
Remember the Everton team in 1980s, believe they would have won the European cup if not for the Heysel ban.
John Lyons What a stupid response!
@@johnlyons4836 John Lyons, Everton were a good European side back then too, they won the European cup Winners cup in the same year as Hysel.
Form does NOT go out of the window in the Merseyside derby. Liverpool (almost) always win!
Ayyyyy 🤙🏻😄 Scouser here!
Well done
We still are the best furious friendly rivals....no one can destroy our rivalry friendship....Everton❤Liverpool
From a #LFC FAN
Please do one on Tottenham and Arsenal
Im am a Spurs fan tho
1:44 it says it changed its name to Everton in 1979
😱😱😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😡😡😡😡😡😂😂😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤ for I'm thoroughly impressed and enthusiastic about this video!!! The content is exceptional and has left me in awe. Kudos to the creator! I wholeheartedly appreciate the effort that went into making this
Everton's first official game at their new ground was against Notts County not Nottingham a different team
Your video shows that St Domingo changed their name to Everton FC in November 1979 - I know little about Everton but I know this date is wrong!
Must be a writing error, the first number 9 should be an 8. It's correct in the commentary.
The establishment of Everton was before 1878, as they were a cricket club. Football was played with the players playing both cricket and football, sometimes on the same day.
Spotted a mistake. Should it not be 1879 and not 1979 at 1:40?
It wasn't abandoned, everton were evicted after a rent dispute and Liverpool only formed when they needed a team to use the stadium
Thats not true. They wanted to double the rent as well as make the profits from pies ale etc. Everton made a counter offer and started looking for land incase they were knocked back.
Everton left
01:46,is it 1879 or 1979?
5:05 The second one was on my birthday!
In that way, I was born a day before you😂
He made it seem tha it was the liverpools fans fault. Not mentioning the fact their fans were throwing stuff as well
Great video but miss the point when 96 LFC fans died at Hillsborough and how supportive was by everton fans getting through this dark period
I personakky felt like that was more suitable for a video of it's own, instead of shoehorning it in on a video about the Rivalry between the two.
May wanna put a *Correction* tab at 1:44 . It says 1979 you said 1879.
You can do a video on the Calcutta Derby aka Mohunbagan vs East Bengal... I will be something new for every viewers
1:44 says 1979 not 1879
This is true. I was walking back from Anfield rd and took a wrong road to my car. I saw a sign saying welcome to Everton and thought wtf. So close?
1:47 youve got the wrong date written down
Shankly gave Liverpool the full red kit
At least he didn't expect them to wear Everton's cast-offs!
It's 1879. You wrote 1979 in the video presentation. Btw great contents
Do a Kolkata derby. Although not that famous around the world , but still got some rich history
Best series
More could have been covered on the Hillsborough disaster in 1989. But it was still a great video.
I think Hillsborough wasn't mentioned because it had no affect on or association with Everton.
Do the Eternal Derby aka. Partizan Belgrade vs Red Star Belgrade
Nemanja Djuric That is a fierce battle derby!! Big fights 😁
Lee Taylor it was 30 years ago
Crvena zvezda have supoort in 80% population in Serbia,

1.39 you have the date wrong. 1979 it reads.
