I think it's just that he anticipated the possibility that bending the connector had broken circuits, which isn't unreasonable since that applies to so many of his repairs. All the same he worked through it.

this is a brilliant example how NOT listening to the customer is sometimes a good thing. If you went by there word you would of replaced the connector and it still wouldnt have worked. They would never of guessed about the blown fuses. Also he could of took this to other places who possibly woudl just change it charged him and said well i did what you asked even though it didnt work when returned. well done sir
When fuses are at work they are always in emergency mode and always very delicate and simple vibration breaks the thin wire inside them that’s probably why they failed when there was nothing shorting it makes sense to me they failed when current is going through them and the bang on the ground broke the connection in them.
I wonder how much time you would save by having a simple app where you scan a QR code stuck to the donor board and it tells you how many of each component you have on that board, if you use something you just click to minus 1. But I guess it would either take time to count at the start or require the schematics for the donor boards to know what is on it.
Bet ya the customer complained about the extra charge cause Alex went beyound to make it work replacing the fuses too not having too. Saving the the customer to pay to ship it back to get the whole job done.
Also, cap power. Capacitors can store a difference in potential and, because they are designed to release that charge all at once, caps can easily blow fuses if there's a temporary short.
Advise against using shitty gigabyte doner cards for an EVGA ^_^ Gigabyte are well known for using cheap components. Love the vids BTW, excellent work.
My 3080ti fans went super sonic then shutoff the whole pc an refuses to boot. Need to send it I'm since still under warranty. I hope it gets covered. I cannot afford a new card an its stressing me out. My luck.
Correct me if I am wrong. 3090 was launched on September 2020. EVGA offers 3 years of warranty. Therefore, why not sending this with RMA to EVGA? 99% of the times, it would have been repaired for free. Unless there is water damage or evidence of burning, they always replace or repair for free. Don't you know your rights as a customer?
No you can not. You may be able to get a case and make it an external hard drive but you will not be able to get the speeds that it is capable of. The connections are far too old.
Alex explained in a previous video that he stopped using Paypal due to scams. One example he gave was a customer reporting him for combining two orders into one shipment. Customer reported only receiving one package. In the end, Paypal sided with customer and Alex had to eat the cost the cost of the larger order.
Hey, man, I'm pretty new to this and I have a question. I have this ASUS Strix 1070ti that I bought for £81 not knowing it's faulty, and it isn't detected at all and has a black screen. My question is, what is most likely the issue and is it possible to send it to you all the way from Luton (UK)? Thanks :)
