Logitech makes good peripherals, except for headsets. I have a Steelseries Arctis Pro wireless headset. It has its quirks, but overall, it's a reasonable wireless studio monitor. When I bought it, it was because they aren't overly heavy on bass.
If they ever fixed the issue where they amplify line noise, they're going to be solid. My older Arctis Pro set sounds like fuzz when nothing is playing.
EDIT: I still use it from time to time, but my current setup is a couple sets of Aftershokz wireless headsets connected to a bluetooth audio endpoint, and a desktop microphone. When one goes flat I swap to the other. I still love the Steelseries headset, but the vastly reduced weight on my head is nice. overall cost works out roughly the same.

Get the wicked Cushions silicone band, and pleather earcups that are slightly deeper than the stocks. I have the cooling mesh ones, too; but they ruin the ANC.

The battery is the key selling point. For folks who spend all day with headphones on a standard plug-charge headset isn't going to cut it. I use two pair (one at work and one at home) so I only really run into issues on the weekends but my Corsair Void Pros are only good for about 8 hours before they need a recharge.

I have a G935 too and the common problem with them is the power switch. It independently turns on the two speakers. Try wiggling the switch instead of banging the headset. Or replace the switch.
The only place I found the switch was eBay. And all I replaced was the slider inside the switch. Unsoldering the old and soldering the new was too much work. But be careful when replacing the slider. The contacts are super tiny springs which pop out if touched. Handle with care.

The cleaning helped for a while as did the wiggling. BUt it ends the same. Had to solder in a new power button last week and it works good now. I think that if it happens again in the future I will just "hardwire" the connections and have the headset on all the time. I have "upgraded" the charging cable using an magnetic snap on connector too so that will keep-em charged up.

I think asking for the best "gaming headset" is the wrong question to ask. Because labeling any headphones or headset with "gaming" is just marketing.
You just look for good headphones or headsets generally.
In fact, if you're looking for a headset, you're limiting yourself a lot compared to getting a good pair of headphones and a standalone microphone.
If you're still dead set on a headset, you could also consider getting something like an Antlion modmic, and turning any headphones into a headset.

I have used many SteelSeries Arctis series headsets in the past, Actis 7, Actis 7 Pro, Acris Nova Pro ect and all of them suffer from poor build quality, defects with ear cups causing structural failure, low quality materials and ear cups being too shallow for most. Would not recommend to anyone unless you are happy to modify your purchase and void your warranty. SteelSeries will also not offer you a replacement unless you destroy the entire functional headphones even when there is structural damage caused by their own manufacturing processes that is widely accounted for through various media and sources online. Even in cases where the damage doesnt stop the headphones from working and it could be repaired and reused they would rather you destroy it than repair it which is an indicator that these things cost them less than it would to ship you in for repair.

I honestly think it is a way better solution than wireless headphones: no battery , no electronic parts that could not be repaired if damaged, and a very high quality unaltered sound (no fancy extra bass or similar sound compressor).

It might be the internets favorite headset because of Advertising but in reality it’s just another gaming headset and the wired Arctis Nova Pro is just louder than most gaming headsets. I’m still trying to figure out where the bass is on the EQ because when I move the bass up or down the sound doesn’t change much. The highs give you a more noticeable change when you EQ them. This is when using the Sonar software. The EQ in Dolby gives you more control over the sound and it sounds more open with Dolby. I am pretty sure DTS would make them sound better as well. It’s ridiculous that a $250 wired gaming headset that doesn’t have it’s own proprietary software doesn’t give you a DTS license while $50 headsets gives you a free DTS license. Anybody can use Sonar for free because it’s a BS software nobody would buy

Honestly, for me, I don't really use wireless headphones. (I had at one point, and had a pair I really loved but... it eventually died on me. also the company that made it stopped making headphones entirely annoyingly enough, as they moved to making solely only earbuds which is agony cause i hate earbuds.) So when it comes to headphones for me anyways, I personally prefer the ones I've been using for a fair while now. Most definitely around 6~ish years now? Haven't had any issues with the headphones themselves. Have had to get a new cable since i originally got it, cause the lil short original one, failed on me but... myeh.
Anyways, for clarification, it be an Astro A10, which Astro, if I recall, is owned by Logitech so... yeah. And it's been holding up just fine on the functional side. The rubber around the headband has degraded and whatnot over time and fallen to pieces but that doesn't matter too much to me since i just wrapped the headband with that thin foam wrap stuff you normally use for sports stuff or whatever. and called it a day.
As for why your wireless headphones you had from logitech failed... I'm not entirely sure. they should in theory be using the same stuff as Astro, Especially given that Logitech is Astro's parent company... so I'm not entirely sure other than the possibility of a failure related to that model of headset that causes them to fail like that. which personally I would check to ensure that it isn't just you, and that it is a common problem with that logitech headset you have two of that have both failed in such a way.
Oh and uh... I don't entirely remember, but I wanna say that, from what my father, whom of which knows the quality of most of the companies relating to computer parts and whatnot pretty well, had said anyways (This is from memory, might not be entirely accurate.) that generally speaking, SteelSeries is I wanna say a bit too pricey? I don't exactly remember though what he had said about SteelSeries, I know his opinion of Razer is that their stuff isn't really well made. And as for Corsair well... They pretty much have his thumb of approval (and mine, considering k100 opto-mechanical keyboard go brrrrt.)

My setup for 10+ years - A pair of Beyerdynamics DT990 edition and a Røde NT1-A on a boom arm. I have replaced the headband and the earmuffs twice. Paying extra for better quality, well knowing it is better quality is something I've always practiced, since it usually saves me money in the long run, because all I have to do is basically just replace some of the cheaper parts and all the rest continues to work flawlessly.
Also I avoid buying anything that has "gaming" put in its name or being marketed for gaming as it usually is lower quality, maybe with a specialized EQ for "gaming purposes" that for me just distorts the soundscape, so I bought a pair of headphones meant for all things in the spectrum of sound and I have recommended doing the same to all my friends, because they'll never regret it.
I have an external USB audio interface that controls my headset and microphone and its the Audient ID4, which I would like to replace some day with the RØDEcaster pro when I ever get that kind of money. haha Mainly because I would love to have some hardware sliders to turn up and down volumes of different things and not just all of it at the same time.

    These are... fine.
Honestly, I agree with everyone else, the killer feature is the swappable dual battery. The tabletop USB DAC with two inputs and a line out output is also cool, although it sucks that the wireless version doesn't have a straight headphone out, since it makes it harder to use it with a different set of headphones.
Buuuut... it kinda sucks that the hub doesn't have a stand for the headphones, the ANC is mediocre and the sound quality is not great.
I don't know, maybe I'm spoiled, but I have the same Sony headphones and the difference is night and day. Even my old Plantronics (now Poly) Focus headset has a much nicer sound. The Arctis doesn't sound cheap, but if you have some decent dedicated headphones to compare it with it's definitely mediocre for the price by comparison, even with all the ANC features turned off. The microphone is good, though, and I do like how neatly it retracts.
I am still using these. They are convenient, comfortable and very functional, but I am considering keeping my Sony headphones near my desk to use them when I don't need to be talking. They may actually be the best gaming headset out there, but unfortunately that's because there isn't a truly great gaming headset, period.

I won't be buying Steelseries Arctis again until they change their downright idiotic hinge design.
I had a pair and I loved them, but over time, a crack appeared between the hinge and the cup. Mind you, there is but a single, unreinforced point of contact between the frame and the cup, so it is bound to happen. One day the entire cup fell, and Steelseries refuses to acknowledge this issue. In fact, they're using this design on all their "premium" models.

I'm sorry to tell you, but the nova pro's will also break. Though their failure is mechanical in the singular plastic joint between headband and the cup. I've had 3 of their previous model fail in exactly the same spot and considering these are identical in design from everything i've read and seen, they will once again fail after around a year and a half. The only reason I bought the new model is because between a few different things I was able to get a 4 year warranty which made them worth the very high price tag. That being said I have tried half a dozen various gaming headsets and I would agree feature wise these are by far the best. (though their hotswap feature is a complete lie, and the previous model actually could hotswap if you plugged them in, these cannot)
The only downside, which is sadly the main downside of most other gaming headsets as well is their absolutely terrible build quality and durability. They will fail, and they will fail in exactly the same way that basically every single one of these headphones and their previous model will eventually fail. The ear cup joint. SteelSeries could VERY easily fix this problem by reinforcing this joint, or just making it out of metal, but they don't because then people wouldn't have a reason to buy a new one every couple of years. And for whatever reason, absolutely no one else is competing with them in the swappable-battery-gaming-headset-with-simultaneous-bluetooth market.

these do-it-all solutions arent for me, though i dont play on consoles. on a PC at least, i'd much rather use a normal pair of headphones with a separate mic and something else for mobile. i use Philips Fidelio X2 headphones which cost me $100 some years ago and they're probably better than any gaming headset. my mic is a Blue Yeti because it was the only thing i knew back when i bought it, but apparently NZXT's Capsule mic is quite decent and affordable, also better than any gaming headset

I hate headsets with faux leather cushions. The PU always starts to crumble after a few years and most of the time you can't even get them as original replacement parts. Also, they get super sweaty in warm weather.
The beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro might be wired, but they're some of the best headphones ever made. I bought mine 12 years ago and apart from replacing the cushions after a decade, they're good as new. A modmic or any other microphone will turn it into a headset.
Or just get the beyerdynamic MX 300.

I still have a g935 headset but I don't use it much anymore since Logitech took a dump on their hub software and messed everything up. It actually caused me to fresh install my os because it messed up drivers and registry...
At one point the update made the Audio so quiet it was impossible to use. Then the next update it gained the volume back but the quality of bass was terrible.
It works now but I just lost interest in their stuff because of that

One of the things that is often ignored is the often poor quality software required to be able to use all the features on headsets. My own Razer set expected me to be fully kitted out with Razer offering options for all their hardware and was nightmare to remove from my system despite many emails to their support team i ended up just reinstalling windows and have never installed it again.
Steel series is not so bad but it would be far better if they just worked like proper headphones or just had a very light weight app to adjust certain features that doesn't need to run at start up for no benefit to anyone.

i also have the g935, i found that the power switch is at fault, if you fiddle with it a bit, you can get it back into working order, for a while, it's annoying and it continues to happen, but eventually i guess i will buy another g935, because i really like the programmable buttons on the side, making it possible for me to skip to next track, pause, or even use push to talk in discord. so yeah i kinda really want to keep those functions, and it doesn't seem that any other headset on the market comes with programmable buttons like that, so buy another i will do, btw im on my 3rd one, and realise that it's an issue.

Almost 2 years ago, I finally switched from "gaming headsets" to proper headphones with a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770's. I could never go back, good headphones just blow any "gaming" headphones out of the water. If you really want wireless and with a mic there is always the Audeze Maxwell. I would just recommend a good pair of wired headphones though. If you need one with a mic, there is the MMX300. Otherwise you can use a standalone mic or a antlion modmic.

The build quality is absolutely trash. Chinesium specials for sure. But no one else offers the same set of features, and despite their flaws those features work well... While the headset is one piece. Audio is great for being wireless, the swappable batteries with a charger dock works as intended, the bluetooth audio is good, the mic is decent for a wireless headset, the ANC and passthrough are surprisingly good for not being a serious noise canceling product and the software (at least now anyway) is good enough.
No one else is competing with them. So they are free to make whatever quality they want, and those of us who absolutely want that featureset have no choice but to pick these.

I normally don't respond to brain dead comments on youtube, but you're just on the edge of braindead enough this might register: Not all headphones exist for the same purpose. I own a pair of these, I hate some of the things about them, love others, but I would never buy a pair of wired headphones for my purpose. The very best possible sound quality is a waste for gaming, and the lack of an annoying wire and bluetooth are massive benefits I would never give up for slightly better sounds quality. These sound very good, not as good as wired, but still good.
You don't take a semi truck to a drag strip and you don't tow a trailer with a dragster.
You don't want a high convenience gaming headset for audio work, and you don't want 'hifi' monitors for gaming.

I finally gave up and stopped using the power switch and just always left it on and just kept em plugged in unless I was using it.
