It is a widely accepted fact that Petko never in his life ever said "sand" without also saying " for the texture".
Mama? Did you bring the shovel and pail for me to play in the sand? For the texture.
Why yes son. I brought all of your sand for the texture toys. I knew you would want them.
I'm waiting for that shirt!!
😂😂😂

"I don't like sand for the texture, it's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere."
- Darth Petko, 2022
Should definitely do more videos like this very interesting how they are with different things in there enclosures
i love this kind of videos
I agree. If he did these types with three tarantulas of one species in this sort of style it would be so cool
Its hilarious when after hours of sitting still tarantulas are like "yep its time to web" and then they go wild
What I enjoy most about your channel/videos is how friendly and thoughtful you are constantly.
Not to mention the excitement and energy he brings
he's like the early morning sunshine
6:09 WOW that is a very loud stridulation. That is kinda cool ngl
Seriously! some loud hissing!
Personally I am not surprised at all. As you've mentioned, this genus has an very opportunistic lifestyle.
Furthermore it seems, most of us keepers are in the wrong thinking that they prefer substrate to dig into.
There are reports of several species (mostly from the dyscolus complex) from Penang and Thailand to live several meters high up in trees and making theirself a home in the 'forks' of branches. Other records of the species 'electric blue' from Thailand have shown that they live within the gaps of huge rocks and rock walls. Some even live upside down in 'caves' and build their webs into the slots between the stone.
So how about some more interesting setups like these for more of your Chilobrachys? I'd definitely love to see them.
Hi Petko, maybe you could try and put some anchor points in the enclosure with no anchor points? Might be interesting to see if she/he moves out of the burrow in favour of webbing up the enclosure. Just a thought.
Keep up the great vids! 👍
I was thinking this! Would be super interesting!
This reminds me of the time Tarantula Kat built her own trapdoor inside a Petco and went unnoticed for a month..Lived on escaped crickets and monkey chow. Impressive.
I think digging is the secondary instinct, the tarantula in the tank without anchor points tried several times to web, but gave up in the end and started digging... Very interesting 🤓
Everytime I open an enclosure, I’m expecting special tarantula behaviour 😂 I‘m very aware, that they plot to eat me.
6:07 aaaaaand there they go some ten years of my life, lost forever
Time lapse was absolutely incredible. Really fascinating stuff.
the next step, imo, should be giving three same Ts the same conditions: same size enclosures; same mix of anchoring points and substrate to burrow, same amount of time...
and see what's really their taste for burrowing or anchoring, statistically
I thought the same thing!
Hi Petko, make other experiments, please, it's so interesting. It's amazing knowing more about the incredible behaviour of our tarantulas.
It's literally 12:47am here in my country India, but I enjoy your videos so time doesn't matters...
"whatever you do, do it like crazy. You have 7 days."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
words to live by
I literally always watch your videos in my engineering class I always have snacks and chips ready for your upload
No wonder my brand new Ford doesn't work, the engineers are watching UA-cam in class lol
No it's just a Ford haha
I generally do not leave comments, but I just couldn't hold back with this one! This was one of the BEST videos you've put out in a while, genuinely loved it from start to finish, keep it up!!
You could record the time lapse with a red light, inverts can't distinguish the red spectrum and they perceive that it is still night time
Lol 😂 “hope they got permits!”
That third critter gave me a mini heart attack when it screeched at you!
Man lost a roach in his home with no worry.. mans gonna send a spider roach hunting squad
The hiss! I had heard they could, but I'd never actually seen/heard it before! Wow!
That was very interesting seeing how each spider came out to look at what's possible then went to work creating the best home
Because of this channel I found out that some tarantulas keep small humming frogs as pets, also thank you for making them look super cute without frogs 🕷
While I hope the technical issues stop because no one enjoys dealing with those…
Did anyone else enjoy corrupted Petko or was it just me?
I found it very humorous 😂
I loved it. It's like he's doing the robot. He should be corrupted more often.
Petko you made my day! Enjoying the video after a long day at the hospital. Thank you!
Hope you are all right!
@@TheDarkDen I'm okay. Just a long day of tests and appointments with my Cardiac and Pulmonary (heart and lung) Specialists.
Idiopathic Pulmonary Artery Hypertension. WHO group 1.
Google it. It sucks. Current life span is maxed out at 8 years. No cure and very limited treatment options.
I actually started watching your videos when I was admitted to the hospital with complications from PAH. One video of you feeding Linda gave me an irregular heart rhythm. She moves in a way I didn't expect and it scared me. The next thing I know my heart monitor is going off and 3 Nurses run into the room because my heart wasn't beating right. Lol. I tried explaining what happened but they didn't seem to believe me when I said I tarantula scared me. 🕸️🕷️🙄🤣
So it might be possible to scare someone to death.... Just sayin'.... 😅😉
That sucks, I’ll be praying for you, god bless
@@Plants-and-Ts Thank you! Have you startled by any of the famous Linda feeding videos? I am still afraid of spiders and tarantulas but not as much as before binging all of Petkos videos.
The videos don’t scare me to much but trying to ring feed my own tarantulas used to terrify me
AWESOME video mate love watching Tarantulas and Spiders web up their enclosures
The webspinning segment must be one of the most fascinating and hypnotic of your videos to date :)
For real Petko I hope you realise how much your passion for Tarantulas is helping a lot of people learn more about T. and their behaviours. Great job as always. The time laps was AMAZING !! Really immersive as I watched it three times to make sure to not miss anything activity in all of the enclosure. I would love to see a Live on twitch or YT of a new experiment like this one that you just did !
You, Tarantula Kat and Daves’s Beasties are why I now have 16 tarantulas! What species are these? LOVE your videos!!
And Exotics Lair! How can I forget him!!
he literally says the species in the beginning of the video
I couldn’t understand him, but thanks for being literally no help 😘
@@cindyedge9127 its also in the video description
@@user-ky3wp6gc5z I don’t see it there 🤷♀️
I have my fimbriatus in a rectangle box. she's only about 2.5-3" but the webbing in her enclosure is insane! haha
You got me laughing with the permit line!🤣 I love when you run these experiments!!! Super fascinating Petko!
Have read for years how Ts don't have intelligence and only act based on instinct. I think this video shows they are more intelligent than that as they obviously consider options and make decisions more than just reacting. Loved it, definitely looking forward to see more like this and might try to do the same when I finally get to doing some vids of mine. Keep up the great work 👏
Roach sees catch-cup & thinks, "What's the worst that could happen?" He decides to make a run for it... :D :D :D
So glad your experiment worked! Good to see you again too...hadn't been watching much lately...
I’ve never seen a spider dig before thank you for the Timelapse it was super cool loved seeing them make the encloses their home
great vid and wow what a loud hissing from the escapee ....
Say what you want about handling spiders, but the real pros know how to. All the biologists that go out in the field they seem to know how to handle these things. Hey I’m not saying I’m brave enough to even hold a baby one yet, but it would make a dealing with the bolters a lot easier.
Awesome time lapse dude. This was a great video! Good choice of music too
That was really cool to see the digging. I’ve never seen a spider dig before.
I only have one of these, but it eschewed burrowing in favor of a massive web labyrinth at maturity. As a sling I kept it in a gallon container with about 7" of substrate. He burrowed all the way down and I rarely saw him until he was near 3" I never knew they could stridulate. That is pretty awesome.
Love it!
What an interesting vid! Love seeing the time lapse and how the behavior of the same Ts changes based on setup. Was awesome!
I LOVe your time lapse so we can watch what they do, how they act. So cool!!
Seeing your notifications make Mondays fun days! Thanks Petko!!
My daughter and I loved the video, and screamed both snack time and happy dance for each feeding lol.
I loved this video so much!!! Such big differences to the way they live from tarantula to tarantula 🤯
I wonder how the burrow one would react if you added anchor's to its enclosure now...
Keep these great videos coming! I get so excited when I get the notification that you posted something new! More Friday videos please
This was awesommee dude I love your videos and look forward to them after work every Monday sometimes I even come back later in the week and rewatch or share the videos with several people because I think they are just amazing, please keep up the great work petko I’ve been a fans for years and I look forward to more years to come.
Wow, they are so pretty! And it’s honestly pretty crazy to see which each did-always a joy seeing your videos they always make my day better :)
You can see the moment the one the right said “you know what I’m going to just burrow.”
This was a fascinating video! I’m sure these take a huge amount of effort to make and that work is absolutely appreciated!
Ohh such an amazing idea, I'm about to get a Fimbriatus myself, now I will give it a lot of anchoring points. Saludos desde México
What a fun, amazing experiment! I hope that you continue with this, as it’s really something, seeing three of the same species behaving differently. And I don’t believe it’s just about the environment. I think you would find, if you gave them all identical environments, they would still find ways to make it different; as it shows the personality & behavior is individual, not species specific. Each of us has our own personalities, as does every other living being. Love it! Much love to you, Shelbie =) ❤️🤍
More of this scientific content, please. Enjoying your turn from hobbyist to behavioral entomologist (arachnologist?).
One of the best videos . I totally enjoyed watching the spiders make their nest . As well as the feeding . I often loose feeder bugs . It's funny when people help clean up and they find them . lol
"you have seven days to complete construction". This video is so fucking cute what the heck haha
I love experimental comparative videos like this! Keep them coming!
This was brilliant! Thanks for creating such awesome content!
leaves all enclosures open all the time and wonders why things escape. is also never prepared with a catch cup😂
Loved the concept for this video. Fascinating.
WHAT'S UP BUDDY!
Hope all is well? also with the baby I hope you're enjoying fatherhood? It's an awesome feeling my friend...This was very very interesting Petko, it is pretty cool how they also webbed up their enclosure and they still find their way through it I always find that amazing without falling or without damaging the web no matter how far in the web they are they seem like they can get through it and remember their way back and forth that's pretty cool.
I DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE MORE EXPERIMENTS LIKE THIS ONE THAT YOU ARE DOING I LOVE EDUCATIONAL STUFF WITH THE SPIDERS?;. THANK YOU AND PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS OR EVEN MORE FASCINATED
Good morning from Australia, love your videos Petko.
I always get amazed by their webbing. Perfect video after 4 days of complete chaos.
Interesting. I was sure the middle one would choose to burrow too. And people say Ts are boring🤷♀️
Dark den... why do my tarantulas get out? Also dark den. Walks away and leaves three tanks open 🤣
FABULOUS VIDEO! Great idea! Loved it!
Rad video! Love the experiment. Really cool to see different behavior from the same species.
Best part of my week, makes Mondays worth it!
Great video ,very interesting with the different set ups petko 👍
Always awesome videos!
Fascinating experiment. I love this idea. What a great idea to learn about these bolty little critters. I was mesmerized by their work. Thanks Petco! I loved this video!
Great stuff! Also, you pick the perfect music to accompany the time-lapse portion.
Heey Petko, REALLY NICE CONTENT!!!
You made something totally different and with a wonderfull result, thanks!!! 😊
Omg! Very nice tree fimbriatus.
Fantastic video!!
One of my favourite videos so far. Hopefully more of these types of experiments to come.
Amazing Tarantula species 👍🏼
Enjoyed the experiment & the way you did the video. Please do more! Thanks.
Really cool idea, definitely will try to do that myself!
I always look forward to your Monday upload. I have a crazy work schedule so my days off are Mondays and Thursdays and I typically make sure to catch up on some UA-cam vids Monday night. Yours is always the first vid I want to watch. You and exotics lair are the ones that got me to start keeping T's in the first place, now I'm subbed to more keeper's channels than I can count😂. I especially love your channel tho and this was such a cool little experiment. The Chilobrachys Fimbriatus is such a beautiful species, I love the colors and the pattern on the abdomen is so cool looking with the stripes. Keep up the great content and have a wonderful week. I'm already looking forward to next Monday or Friday I should say, Yay!!! for bonus video, I'll definitely check it out after work. Lol
that's amazing to watch I really enjoyed that. 💙💜🇬🇧
You should try adding some anchoring points to the enclosure with only substrate and see if they will all choose to web and be out more
Thank you for the experiment, loved it
Yessss! What a interesting video.
I love them all but learning behaviour is something I really enjoy 💚
Even if the cameras disappoint, the spiders do not
Dude, I love your videos. Thanks.
Seems they prefer outside webbing house over digging. I wonder if that applies to the entire species?
This was so awesome to watch!
Loved this video idea, was nice to see what was done by each individual spider, keep up the good content :) 🕷
That was awesome to see what each one did amazing experiment thanks so much
I always look forward to your uploads Petko, keep up the amazing work! 😇
Great experiment and awesome Ts, Petko. Definitely a must have sp. 👌
Always love your timelapses
About time petko, good to see you back👍
But I never left xD
@@TheDarkDen How are your balfouris? Everytime i see them on your or EL's channel, I get the impression they behave like new worlds, and also look like one xD
rly awsome video. i love the idea to offer same type of tarantula different enviroments and see what happens. so cool
That was fun to see the different ways they webbed. Great video
More time lapses please. Your videos and experiments are amazing.
Experiment success!
Nice!
I love the way u made a time lapse of their webbing. this is a great content
Loved this style of video wit the 3 different style enclosures wit the same species
Love the video and thoughts on a video with hissing cockroaches as new feeders and feed a few big boys/girls.
