I love the rather manic performance that Eisenberg gave it was pretty clear to me that Lex was likely abused for being autistic by his father, i just find it funny that people complained about that when this is clearly an origin story for him, Lex isnt done cooking yet
I like him more after he gets the lex skin head, he looks intimidating once he's in prison and his after credits scene in Justice League in his sharp suit offering Death Stroke a deal. He really felt like *Lex* in that scene.
I'm not sure why UA-cam recommended me this video, but i'm really glad it did! What an interesting take on the DCEU Lex! I never had a problem with his portrayal but this really made me appreciate it a lot! I hope more people get this recommended to them because it's well done. Thanks for making it!
This right here made my day man. I went through hell trying to get this video up because of UA-cam's copyright claiming, but I finally was able to get it up. Thank You so much for taking time to watch and comment, it means a lot.
Tbh the more I watch his scenes the more I enjoy him, he undermines people, he makes people think he's weak but this whole time he's the puppet master behind the film.
Snyder's casting of Eisenberg as young billionaire Lex Luthor was SO meta and ahead of its time it is almost spooky....HE tried to tell us Zuckerberg was the bad guy years before most people came to the realization that Zuck was terrible.
I think the biggest problem is that Warner cut the best parts of his character with the theatrical cut I had to watch the Ultimate edition to appreciate him. And most people won't do that
"There is always something to add" You kidding? I learned so much by watching MOS and BVS analysis. Every video contained something new I couldn't thought of before. You added new information as well. This is truly amazing. Thank you very much. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
I agree, but also feel like this Lex played up his eccentricities and tics. If you look at him in Zack Snyder's Justice League, while his head and eyes still have a bit of that nervous energy, you can see that he is more assured, more controlled. I think Lex played up those particular "negative" traits so that, should his plans fail and he end up arrested, he would be able to plead insanity without questioning. He's actually quite smug about not being fit to stand trial when Batman confronts him in the jail cell. Well, up until Batman tells him he's going to Arkham and the facade breaks a bit.
Interesting. I didn't think about it that way! I think it fits with his evolution as Lex Luthor. As he gets more experienced and older, he starts being more "normal" and more composed. Makes perfect sense!
@@superjesusjackson it's more like they showed us different sides of the character. He was more like a mad scientist in Batman v Superman (obsessed with power and jealous of Superman), and he would have been a more composed criminal-"business man" in the sequels. By the way he would have become more like a rogue mad scientist again in Justice League 2, cause he was going to make experiments with the Apokolipsian motherboxes and the antilife equation, causing the "Knightmare" timeline to come true. After Flash would have changed the past in Justice League 3, he would have been the one to destroy Darkseid's mothership too, sacrificing himself with a nuke in order to prove that he was "more powerful than the gods", and earth's real champion 🌎 😎
I'm still not a fan of This version of Luthor, but I understand the thought process behind his character, and I can appreciate what Zack was going for. That's what I think ultimately matters when being critical about anything. P.S. : I think Jesse would've made for a great Riddler, but that's just me.

I remember hating this version of Lex upon the movie's release and always saw him as the only bad thing about Batman vs. Superman which was other wise a masterpiece. However, upon multiple rewatches over the years mainly the Ultimate Edition, Jesse's Lex started to grow on me and found entertaining as I understood more and more and more of his masterplan. This should have included talk of the scene in Justice League (Snyder’s- not Whedon’s). If it is clear Snyder had a long term plan for this character as well it is evident in that scene in succession with the character in BvS. From the egocentric megalomaniac ‘child’ at the beginning of the movie to the cunning plotter at the climax, and the bald, scared, broken lunatic at the end after realizing something much worse than Superman is coming, to the determined, cold, and calculating self at the end of JL. What made Lex so effective on pushing Bruce's buttons was it was established that Bruce is suffering from severe trauma, a PTSD. The problem is Eisenberg's overacting, from the way he monologues to his body language - everything just feels forced and completely ruins every scene he is in.
I too think this way, aside from some scenes. But thanks to one bit in the Ultimate Edition of BvS, I came to the conclusion that Lex, not Eisenberg, was doing that on purpose. To plead insanity and spend some years in a low security mental health hospital. He even was quite smug when he said he wasn't fit to stand trial. He just didn't count on the Bat pulling strings to get him sent to Arkham. That was one of the few times you see the facade break for a moment.
I really appreciate it James! And I really think it has more to do with the studio forcing creatives to implement certain things into the movies they create. It’s really no coincidence that this movie had Batman vs Superman while Marvel had Captain America vs Iron Man at the time it came out. It’s all marketing.

I gave you a 👍🏾 but changed it to 👎🏾 simply becus you think Jason Todd is the dead robin. Obviously ur not a real fan. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
Aww damn, I'm not a real fan :(
It is based off Jason Todd, just with a changed name. The plot still belongs to Jason..
Jason MAMOA AQUAMAN is the Goat 🐐
EZRA MILLER FLASH is the Goat 🐐
Way too many holes in these movies. They rushed the universe to compete with the mcu. Such a wasted opportunity
Good points but I disagree, the best Lex Luthor(live action) is Michael Rosenbaum. Animated its Clancy Brown
I won’t debate with you there, my friend!
Great video!
Much Appreciated sir!
❤❤😊
Terrible...
The problem is Eisenberg's overacting, from the way he monologues to his body language - everything just feels forced and completely ruins every scene he is in.
Yeah, I can see that man. At first, I thought that to be the case too, believe it or not haha.
All in all BvS shoulda been two separated movies 😭
Why did Zack have to rush it so much
U r very well spoken. Also nice editing
👍🏻
I really appreciate it James!
And I really think it has more to do with the studio forcing creatives to implement certain things into the movies they create. It’s really no coincidence that this movie had Batman vs Superman while Marvel had Captain America vs Iron Man at the time it came out. It’s all marketing.
Non dovevano essere due film separati
I agree with you except for the parts where you were talking. Eisenberg's Luthor was an absolute trainwreck.
LOL you had me in the first half, not gonna lie
