Its a progressive sound that builds along the entire song, like a mantra. This version is better than the one with lyrics

They put this version out on UA-cam. It shows the foundation of the song and surprisingly stands on its own. It’s entrancing and I could watch Dave Grohl play drums all day. A fan put the final version on UA-cam with the final version.

I agree that adding Krypto to this movie seems like a terrible idea. Personally the idea bums me out and makes me think that he's not treating the character with appropriate seriousness. I'm curious though: you tell us a lot about what superhero movies you DON'T like, but what DO you like?

I not seen the film yet. But i really like the way you analize this. I still think that people don't understand the first one, and the idelized movement in real life for this film is really crazy. The hate folie a deux is getting is not normal, even if it's a bad movie,.you can notice the word "Hate" this is already a hint of how sick we are when seeing something, when we criticize. I don't agree with everything you said about arthur and his persona, but is a great video!! All the best, greetings from Brazil 🌹

While I can see where you're coming from with some of your points, I do disagree too. Mainly off of the fact that movies can only be two things, Corny or Sophisticated. Because honestly I think that movies can be a wide range in the middle too, and while James Gunn doesn't find that "perfect" middle ground for me, he is one of the closest. Since while some of his jokes don't hit well with me, and sometimes I wish he took some moments more seriously, he does let the story and characters breathe. And honestly there is a lot more substance to the stories of The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy than I think you give credit for. Especially The Suicide Squad and how it kind of tells this story about these nobodies, these people who are "bad people" and if they can turn around and do some good, then so can we all. That message really got embodied especially by Ratcatcher who said something along those lines in the final battle relating it to rats. I also don't think adding a super powered dog makes it inherently not sophisticated, as something can be fantastical and not of this world, and not obeying the rules of this world and still be a sophisticated story. In fact I personally want more Hollywood films that are more fantasy, not high-fantasy, but just in the way of telling stories of different worlds while not ignoring characters, their growth, and themes around them. I'm sad to hear you're not excited for this film but I'm glad you have other films you can find enjoyment out of and you do like, like Man of Steel. I hope I'm right and I enjoy Superman like I think I will and then I too can have a Superman movie I can enjoy.

Thank you, great video . Being a huge fan of the first film I went to watch this in the cinema on my birthday, despite its global negative response. I left feeling with such a mixture of emotions. Despite my initial dissapointment I was also desperatly sad about Arthurs ultimate demise. But then again he was never going to get a happy ending. Nore was he meant to. Arthur was never going to become the clown prince of crime. And that that was the ultimate joke on all of us for ever thinking he was going to be.

Watched it in an early viewing the day before official release, Got to form my own opinion completely separated from Online discourse and I was actually laughing during the movie about how bad it was. Especially as a sequel, this movie fails in almost all regards, maybe if it hadn't been a sequel it would be decent, but the movie has absolutely nothing new to say and the music adds almost nothing. You get the idea that the musical numbers are just delusions pretty early after they start and it gets old and tired about just as quickly. Mediocre Movie in it's own right (acting is good at least), Absolutely horrendous sequel.

👏👏👏👏 You get it! I thought i was an island on this film 😂 It was beautifully done. Below is a response to another critic that didnt get it.. Fantastic vid, much thanks!! As Arthur stated in the final scene from the first Joker film, when asked, " You want to tell me your Joke?"..... Arthur responds..... "You wouldn't get it." It's very obvious that the critics, let alone the general audience, didn't get Folie à Deux at all. It would appear that the audience, within 5 years, has become more narrow-minded, inept, and only wants what they feel they deserve... The sequel is a conclusion to Arthur's tortured life and not about the exploits of the Clown Prince of Crime. The film is about Arthur's real world and fantasy world experiences colliding. And eventually it's his adoring fans turned enemies on him that wind up killing him. Hence, Lady Gagas "Lee", Phillips interpretation of Harley Quinn. If you really feel it necessary to analyze her character, then you would see her as the secular form of chaotic crowd. The obsession turned hatred after Arthur says in court publicly, he's not Joker, he committed the crimes, he's not a dual personality, and so on. This turns out to be a reflection on you, the general audience, and especially the critics that simply did not want to understand the film nor give it a chance to tell its story from the first film. Much rather it's showing the inhumanity and the complete disconnect from a word that was used several times for the first film, empathy. Rather instead people were looking for a redefined murderous Clown Prince to take up the mantle before good old Heath Ledger would show up... For the comic historians, it should be known that the character has stated in several books that he's more of an idea, hence Arthur providing this idea, and dare I say inspiration for the future of the Joker that fanboys were searching for. Simply put, all I hear is hack critics and Fanboys whining that they didn't get what they wanted, boohoo. The dumbing down and heartlessness of today's society reflects in much of the negative critiques you're finding with this film, that's to be expected. What else do you expect from spoiled little brats that love dick and fart jokes... Speaking of Redundant frat boy Moronic comedy,, Marvel gives you Deadpool and Wolverine. As typical with the MCU, mindless bubblegum attempted roller coaster with an attempt of being semi-funny with lowbrow comedy and digging up characters from their Hall of want to be heroes. Let's put it this way, I highly doubt and I'm willing to put money down that Deadpool and Wolverine will see much of any awards being thrown their way, and there's a good reason for that, it's not really a film, it's a fanboy fest, and you see how limited their Horizons are. Folie à Deux will later resonate with people that can appreciate a film that is based on the characters from a comic book and bringing them into a tangible real life that is gritty ugly and in your face truthful. Even with the song and dance elements, what goes on in people's heads can be by far more disturbing. As for Wolverine and deadpool, or whatever it's called, its going to go along with the rest of the MCU films, chewed up, spit out, forgotten about, somewhat like a used condom when the fanboy is the only one in the room,, maybe a little cash in the pocket, but meaningless, lowbrow comedy easily forgotten about. 👏👏 Well done Todd, and thankx🃏

So what I see is you like the second movie because you didn't understand the first one Let me explain You make the case of good vs evil but it is not, the first movie talks about social unfairness, the joker was rejected by the system, they refused to give them social support, people treatet him bad for just who he was or his condition , the movement from the end of the first movie was made in the first place because the oligarchy are the ones who keep miserable people miserable. Second of all, Arthur was already miserable in the first movie, there is no reason to do that again, its just stoopid. The mistakes of the second movie are that Harley quinn's Character is again used to make arthur suffer, but is redundant per the first movie The Musical parts of the movie do not add anything, on this movie you know what arthur is feeling and then a song about that feeling , so you have to wait 5 minutes to copyrighted music to "get" what he is feeling. In contrast of Lalaland the narrative function of the music on here is sht. So yeah, all the structure that they had on the first movie was removed to be replaced by a pointless musical, this movie shouldn't be called Joker 2 since it doesnt have any element of the Joker, just the name stamped on it and "uuuuh crazy people look how crazy they are sht". End of bible

I don't think you watched all of my video. I say in the first 5-10 minutes of the video that the first Joker film tackled the unfairness of the system, and the struggles of Arthur as a human being in a world that doesn't respect or accept him. Second of all, I think the musical aspects are a reflection/extension of how the characters feel and conclude things in their mind. And in turn, that moves the plot forward. Like the "Close To You" sequence served as a way to show that Arthur had once again fell into Harley Quinn's manipulation.

@superjesusjackson I saw the whole video, and you did said the plot of joker 1 and then threw the conclusion to the trash by talking about "good and bad and the consequences of the joker's actions", no one cares about that and is why the movie did not success, the movie is redundant I understand what the 2nd movie is trying to do, but it is not important to the plot already established, I do not care about Joker falling for Harley again if I dont care about the plot at all Joker 2 is a big F U to the movie that enabled it in the first place

Loved this movie, the tragedy of Arthur Flex. You know he's a crazy murderer but at the same time you feel compassion and sorrow for him. I think the inmate who killed him will become the real Joker as Arther never really wanted to be the violent character he became to survive because of life harsh treatment.

I am glad you enjoyed this movie! And yes, it is very possible that the psychopath can become the real Joker, however I think also the movie shows how many members of the Joker movement were very Joker-like already.

YES THANK YOU, thank you for defending the Musical aspect. I mean for crying out loud the original uses SONDHEIM'S Send In The Clowns! The musical aspect made sense, and I thought worked functionally to inform the characters. It's sad that angry superhero nerd bros feel like they need to hate musicals to be cool, but hey--- it's okay to be wrong sometimes 😜

Thank YOU for watching. And yeah you're right haha. Honestly, now that I think about it. The musical aspect is another element of the movie's subversive tendencies because we all know how much musicals can struggle at the box office. Not to mention the stereotypical opinion of dudes and superhero nerds not really liking musicals.

  • @Bojangthe4th

I think the core of what you're talking about is right. I think the idea is that he has to choose between being Arthur and being Joker and picking one means betraying the other and really his decision becomes who he wants to die as. That tragedy works for me beautifully. I still think the movie is bad. It really feels like they had a few key scenes in mind that they wanted to make and the rest of it is just kinda filler to justify it being in theaters. My genuine impression after seeing it was that the only reason it was a musical was so they could have the whole "Joker is me" scene but it would feel odd to have that be the only song so they just put the rest of them around it to help it blend in better. Also I just didn't believe the way a lot of things went down. He spends the whole movie slowly opening himself up to Joker and when he fully embraces that part of himself, he throws it away literal hours later when he should have clung tighter to it. A mentally ill man was killed for no good reason by a bully, he himself was abused, he would have that fury and indignation of Joker. I get that Gary really did open him up to being Arthur again but that sharp pivot following a weird sequence, it needed to be cleaned up and smoothed out. Like I am fine with him choosing Arthur over Joker, but I don't think it follows what we saw. I actually did like the ending though even if his killer cutting his own mouth made me roll my eyes a bit.

I TOTALLY respect your opinion and can see how you ended up at your conclusion. I love the film, but I can see how the execution of Arthur's tragedy wasn't well justified or done well for the audience to get really invested in it. Certainly the first time I watched the film, I thought that Arthur's decision to no longer embrace Joker felt a little forced and not natural.

The joke is that people thought the first film was about The Joker, but this film tells us that it never was about The Joker. And it's true, it never was, as much as we WISH it was. But that's the point the movie makes right, is that WE'RE the villains.

    • @vincesc720
      @vincesc720 5 днів тому

@superjesusjackson Wow the hoops required to justify this mess of a film is impressive Were the villains seeeee the audience is evil (Hollywood hates its audience and genuinely thinks its superior to everyone else, while also being the most depraved and toxic industry on earth) See Joker is a stand in for the audience (mentally ill, isolated and alienated people whom the system consistently kicks down) and that means we can crap all over the audience by crapping all over the character Genius story telling, amazingly deep, audience bad, destroy all symbols they resonate with.. sadly it just makes everyone think the movie is shitty

I honestly enjoyed the movie as well. Though I personally would have preferred a few less songs as i think the pacing is just objectively pretty choppy. I also think ending with his proper execution instead of a random stabbing since it would've presented a few themes better, but that's more subjective.

What I mean is that the whole point of the movie is to criticize and show the tragedy of how people always want to corrupt or force someone or thing to be something it's not. And so people hating it because of reason x y or z is kind of proving its point. Obviously the opinions of people are valid, I'm just pointing out another way you can look at it.
