Ledger live does offer biometrics already. I know it’s not the same. 4. You can create alternative accounts. It’s called a hidden wallet and you can create as many of them as you want. 5. I spoke to Ledger about using a different firmware and it would make zero difference. Just like any other app you can install on Ledger, the Recover service operates independently. So if you don’t want it, simply don’t use it. 6. More app storage would be nice.

Also quite a few firmware updates for something that should have been secure in the first place - yet no details on what they actually addressed. Maybe their enterprise products offer some more details have a great weekend!
The point of a hidden wallet is literally the scenario you described. Keep the majority of your funds in a hidden wallet. When confronted, you could give them your seed phrase and they wouldn’t be able to access your hidden wallet because they wouldn’t know it exists.
@@cyberscrilla the nano X allows you to set a second permanent pin to remember the 25th word. I was wondering if the flex allows for having more than 1 secondary pin.
Crypto is not stored in wallets or on exchanges. All crypto lives on the blockchain. Wallets hold the keys used to access your crypto. So if your wallet breaks, you lose it, the company shuts down, etc, you simply import your seed phrase (master key to your crypto) into another brand of wallet.
Yep. It’s just as safe as the Flex or Stax. Passphrases are great for security. I can’t say how much safer it is because I dont know how I would measure that. But consider this: If someone got access to your seed phrase, you’d be screwed. However, if you’re using a passphrase and a majority of your crypto is stored on this passphrase (aka hidden wallet), they wouldn’t even know it exists and your crypto would remain safe.
Only question I have- how do you check your profits/return just like how you see them on Coinbase or any other exchange platforms? Even though I’m holding I still would like to see how much my investments are generating me.
Nothing happens. Your crypto isn’t stored on the device. The device holds the keys used to access your crypto on the blockchain. So as long as you have your seed phrase, you can access your crypto using virtually any brand wallet. I highly recommend watching this video to better understand how crypto/wallets work: ua-cam.com/video/qlzHmvbrSZk/v-deo.htmlsi=9KTFOUecZLs-YzJn
Yeah that’s never gonna display on a hardware wallet, that’s not the purpose of this device, it doesn’t hold your crypto, it’s basically just a key to your wallet.
I just got my Flex ! Super cool ! I don’t understand the seed phrase ? I made one and all that I just don’t understand when I’ll have to put it in ? I have the ledger live app and just access my account that way ?
The seed phrase is your backup and is only used if you need to recover your wallet on a new device. You won’t need to enter it for daily use, as Ledger Live works with your Flex to manage your accounts securely. Just keep your seed phrase safe and offline!
I’m curious-there is a setting to activate blind signing on Stax, but what about Flex? Are we able to do blind signing with dApps on Flex? The clear signing feature would be a great addition, but most of the DEXes don’t support it. Can we still use them with the Flex device?
Hard to say as it’s only been out a few months. But I saw a video where they had the screens on for months at a time and they still work. Also, have had any issues with mine. So far so good
thank you i just opened my nano S after the set up process, the screen went out i was weary of reinvesting in an upgrade if screens are their weakness they seem to improved the tec but that just sounds harder to fix myself if they go out thank you again🙏
I have a nano x and want to move my crypto from it to a Flex that I just ordered. Would I need a new Ledger app downloaded for my Flex? I’m new with the hard wallet stuff
My Mom inadvertently sent photo of seed phrase over iMessage. I immediately deleted on our respective phones and on iCloud as well. How exposed am I? I have a Nano X and considering migrating to a new Flex or other cold wallet just in case and wondering if I can establish new seed with new device.
My big issue with Ledger is I had a Nano X and the screen went out so I couldn't read it and they would not warranty it. Was forced to buy another one to access my wallet. Moral of story? it may be great but they are useless if the screen goes dark . Check warranties closely, you'll most likely need to pay for anything over a 1 year warranty!
Yeah, I think that was an issue with early Ledger Nano X models. I don’t believe it’s an issue anymore. That could happen to any wallet with a screen though. That said, E INK screens are more durable and are known to last longer than other options like LCD. So the Flex and Stax should give you many years of screen life.
Then you get a new wallet (any brand) and import your seed phrase to recover your crypto. Remember, crypto isn’t stored in wallets, these devices hold the keys to access your crypto and allow you to manage it in a secure environment. So you can always buy a new device and use the seed to regain access
i agree open source is not the way because no matter how many reviews and fixes from public, there is no way to make a 100% hack resistant code. it is impossible and quantum computing is coming up the only way is the obscure the code and just hope that they made is secured enough that even if it leaked, there is time to notify public
@@cyberscrilla Air gap does increase security, any security savvy person knows this It increases security ultimately by reducing the time vector of an attack In terms of protection during a transaction, then air gap doesn't enhance security but only if your hardware connection is secured and not joining an existing network with compromised devices in it

Best is subjective. I’d put Tangem and Flex above the Pro though in my experience. Tangem is the most user friendly, convenient, and durable. Also more affordable. Flex is also user friendly and offers more security features than Tangem, including the Security Key that protects your online accounts outside of crypto and the secure touchscreen. You can’t go wrong with Tangem or Flex imo. Also, Flex works on desktop. Tangem is mobile only.

Good question. Nothing happens to your crypto, it remains secure. Crypto isn’t stored on exchanges or in wallets, it lives on the blockchain. Hey, I already have a Nano S, and the screen seems to fail to show the letters and numbers (I bought that ledger 5 years ago, it's old, i know). If I buy that ledger flex, do I have to transfer between both ledgers, or do I just have to put the seed phrase to access my cryptos again on the new ledger? Thanks!

Thank you for your review. I'm curious if Ledger will implement SLIP39 in the future? I want to connect my few wallets to my multiple backup seed phrases. I also gave a request for Tangem to implement this, but for now, only Trezor has that option.
Yes, this is common practice. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an additional device, but at the very least, a different seed phrase (wallet). It’s just more convenient to use multiple devices.
I don't understand the screen - you said it's never been used on any piece of tech before then describe how it's basically just an e-ink kindle display.
I was wrong. The Stax screen is the one that’s never been used before. It’s a curved, plastic, e ink screen. The flex is standard glass e ink screen with gorilla glass protector
Only if you don’t like the functionality of your Nano X. The flex is much larger with a touchscreen, that’s about the only diff though. Security wise, they’re equal
They both have their uses. Tangem is still more convenient and more durable. But the Flex has more security features including the U2FA which is awesome for securing all my online accounts. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either.
During your purchase there should be an option to add your free BTC voucher to your order, then later you can redeem it in Ledger Live. Ledger explains it here: www.ledger.com/how-to-redeem

1. A screen protector will achieve this and allow others who don’t want that feature to not be forced to have it.
2. Ledger already offers this. I showed it in the video.
3. Would be cool.
@@cyberscrilla 4. idk it has to be smarter than a hidden wallet - for that i can just have another wallet - it must fool the guys robbing me into believing i have less than i actualy have - i guess once they see the ledger live app balance this game is kinda over for now isn't it
thx taking the time - i hope its clear i would like to love their products but there is always something in the way they go about things that bugs me .. and they actually think people are gonna buy multiple stax because of their laughable 56k storage (or whatever it is because somehow its impossible to get something like a data sheet from their page). Also quite a few firmware updates for something that should have been secure in the first place - yet no details on what they actually addressed. Maybe their enterprise products offer some more details
have a great weekend!
The point of a hidden wallet is literally the scenario you described. Keep the majority of your funds in a hidden wallet. When confronted, you could give them your seed phrase and they wouldn’t be able to access your hidden wallet because they wouldn’t know it exists.
Hey, to each their own.
Can the flex handle more than 2 PIN numbers? I like my nano x and I wish I could store additional permanent accounts with the 25th word.
PIN numbers? No. But you can setup and access as many hidden wallets (25th words) as you want.
@@cyberscrilla the nano X allows you to set a second permanent pin to remember the 25th word. I was wondering if the flex allows for having more than 1 secondary pin.
You can have one secondary PIN per passphrase (25th word) on the Flex.
My only question is what happens if ledger goes under ? What happens to the crypto stored inside ?
Crypto is not stored in wallets or on exchanges. All crypto lives on the blockchain. Wallets hold the keys used to access your crypto.
So if your wallet breaks, you lose it, the company shuts down, etc, you simply import your seed phrase (master key to your crypto) into another brand of wallet.
what is the difference between the STAX and the FLEX? which one would you buy if making a first choice? thanks
Bought it and used your link. I have the one key as well. Getting rid of the keystone (complete junk). 😮
Thank you!
Great video!
is it worth the upgrade form a nano x?
IMO yes. The larger screen is better. And so is the passkey feature
Would you consider the Nano X safe? And how much safer does using a 25th word make it compared to not using a Passphrase? Thanks
The ledger live app will show your balance
May i storage my seed prhase fform different wallets?
What do you mean?
I just got my Flex ! Super cool ! I don’t understand the seed phrase ? I made one and all that I just don’t understand when I’ll have to put it in ? I have the ledger live app and just access my account that way ?
The seed phrase is your backup and is only used if you need to recover your wallet on a new device. You won’t need to enter it for daily use, as Ledger Live works with your Flex to manage your accounts securely. Just keep your seed phrase safe and offline!
@ you’re the best x2.
Just bought the Tangem Cold Wallet
what do you mean "can we trust Ledger again?"? i never felt that i couldn't trust Ledger ... the gold standard of hardware wallets. bar none.
There is so much FUD and misinformation online, it was hard to sift through it all. But, I finally did, and I agree, Ledger is top of the line.
There was alot of people mad at ledger cause they said they would turn your information in if the government came with a warrant.
@sloth1992 even if so, I say Molon Labe
@@sloth1992is it true tho?
I’m curious-there is a setting to activate blind signing on Stax, but what about Flex? Are we able to do blind signing with dApps on Flex? The clear signing feature would be a great addition, but most of the DEXes don’t support it. Can we still use them with the Flex device?
Yes, you can still blind sign with the Flex for the dapps that require blind signing.
@@cyberscrilla thx man appreciate your quick response
Can you use it as a hotwallet?
Yes. Don’t know why you would when you could just use a hot wallet. But you can use it however you want
how is the screen on this one?
i dont want a faulty screen that will not survive a few years
Hard to say as it’s only been out a few months. But I saw a video where they had the screens on for months at a time and they still work. Also, have had any issues with mine. So far so good
thank you
i just opened my nano S
after the set up process, the screen went out
i was weary of reinvesting in an upgrade if screens are their weakness
they seem to improved the tec but that just sounds harder to fix myself if they go out
thank you again🙏
I have a nano x and want to move my crypto from it to a Flex that I just ordered. Would I need a new Ledger app downloaded for my Flex? I’m new with the hard wallet stuff
Nope. You’ll just setup your flex using the same Ledger Live app you have.
Thanks. Do you pay a monthly fee for the flex? Thanks
Nope. You don’t pay monthly fees to use a cold wallet. Just the initial purchase price of the device.
My Mom inadvertently sent photo of seed phrase over iMessage. I immediately deleted on our respective phones and on iCloud as well. How exposed am I? I have a Nano X and considering migrating to a new Flex or other cold wallet just in case and wondering if I can establish new seed with new device.
Inadvertent?🕵️🧐
how about its battery problem ?
My big issue with Ledger is I had a Nano X and the screen went out so I couldn't read it and they would not warranty it. Was forced to buy another one to access my wallet. Moral of story? it may be great but they are useless if the screen goes dark . Check warranties closely, you'll most likely need to pay for anything over a 1 year warranty!
Yeah, I think that was an issue with early Ledger Nano X models. I don’t believe it’s an issue anymore.
That could happen to any wallet with a screen though.
That said, E INK screens are more durable and are known to last longer than other options like LCD.
So the Flex and Stax should give you many years of screen life.
what happens if the screen stops working, i’ve seen a couple stop working.
Then you get a new wallet (any brand) and import your seed phrase to recover your crypto.
Remember, crypto isn’t stored in wallets, these devices hold the keys to access your crypto and allow you to manage it in a secure environment.
So you can always buy a new device and use the seed to regain access
Can you turn off the self destruct mode and can you transfer from Coinbase wallet and MetaMask?
No you can’t.
And yes, you can transfer to ledger from any exchange/wallet
I would love to hear (or see a video) a comparison of this one with trezor safe 5 :)
Great idea!
i agree open source is not the way
because no matter how many reviews and fixes from public, there is no way to make a 100% hack resistant code. it is impossible
and quantum computing is coming up
the only way is the obscure the code and just hope that they made is secured enough that even if it leaked, there is time to notify public
Spot on
Where does Willow fit in this ????
No idea
@ kinda scary tbh haha! Thanks for your content mate
It doesn’t affect wallets if that’s what you’re asking. QC is still far off
Another great video thanks but can you do TREZOR SAFE vs LEDGER STEX short video if you can thanks.
Ledger Flex vs which one? Safe 3 or Safe 5?
can you use it for multiple wallets? for example can i use it for one wallet on my laptop and another wallet on my mobile?
It’d be the same wallet. Just one wallet that you can use on both mobile and desktop
would you happen to know if the flex is Air Gaped like the Titian 2.0
No it’s not. But air gap doesn’t actually increase security
@@cyberscrilla ok thank you brother
@@cyberscrilla
Air gap does increase security, any security savvy person knows this
It increases security ultimately by reducing the time vector of an attack
In terms of protection during a transaction, then air gap doesn't enhance security but only if your hardware connection is secured and not joining an existing network with compromised devices in it
Sure, but i recommend you read this article:
bitbox.swiss/blog/does-airgap-make-bitcoin-hardware-wallets-more-secure/
What happens when the battery is dead? Can it be plugged straight in to power on?
Yes, you can plug it in
Mann! I've got questions, what Crypto platform do you use and do you usually pay for the crypto, do you use those foreign payroll portals such as moonpay, link, guardian and stuff like that? I ask because yesterday I got hacked bad. Smh
How’d you get hacked?
@@cyberscrilla That's a good question but I think it's from going on those payroll portal sites to try and complete the buying process for the Crypto. When you go on those portals like Link, Transik, Moonpay, Guardian and stuff, they ask for things like socials, of course the payment option in which you would put something like your paypal, bank Card, etc,. I think I got hacked doing this and they got me but lucky I noticed It quick enough to be able to stop serious damage in time. When you from NY also, it's much harder to trade Crypto
@@cyberscrilla The huge problem for someone like me is that being from NY, it is extremely difficult to trade Crypto and especially for those meme coins like I want. You gotta do all sorts of methods to try and get them, more than the average person. NY is the most blocked or strict state when it comes to Crypto, PERIOD! I've been trying to get stuff like Kaspa, Neiro, and some other Projects I've noticed but it's been a battle.
Would love to hear how the hack happened as well ?? sorry for your loss man

Stupid question. If I wanted to use this for trading remotely via dexs on Android device, would it work?
One key pro, ledger Flex and Tangem! What are the best of the best in order , a quick video wil be much appreciated. Seem like this are one of the best in the market, tqvm for the review.
Tangem is mobile only.

im new to these hard wallets, what happens if the battery dies? like permanently dies, do i lose my crypto?
Good question. Nothing happens to your crypto, it remains secure. Crypto isn’t stored on exchanges or in wallets, it lives on the blockchain.
These wallets are tools used to securely store and manage the keys used to access your crypto.
So as long as you have your seed phrase, you can import it into any brand wallet to access your crypto.

why would i pay 249 for ledger vs 49 for tangem?? need a reasonable priced wallet to use with my computer not cell!!
Hey bro is it a bad idea to buy it off of amazon ? I got a gift card so i was going to use your amazon affiliate link but apparently its jot safe to do so?
I never recommend buying wallets from a third party. Always from the manufacturer. That said, maybe save your Amazon card for something else you want, and take advantage of the $70 in FREE BTC you get when buying the flex using our link:
shop.ledger.com/pages/gift-of-bitcoin-cyber-scrilla?r=f3f59e340ecb
Ultimately, it’s up to you though.
Thanks!
You can just import the seed phrase into the new ledger device and you’re good to
go 👍
@@cyberscrilla I thought I have to pay the fees to tranfer between them, good, thanks!
@@cyberscrilla After seeing your videos about the Tangem, seems to me that in terms of security, it's a better buy (at certain level of ammount, I've got to give more attention to security). Thanks! (Yes, I used your code to discount.) 👍
Thank you for your review. I'm curious if Ledger will implement SLIP39 in the future?
I want to connect my few wallets to my multiple backup seed phrases.
I also gave a request for Tangem to implement this, but for now, only Trezor has that option.
Im sure we’ll see it in more wallets eventually.
Gonna buy this on tuesday does it stillxneed computer for transaction?
Nice! You can use your phone or computer with Ledger Live to manage your crypto and transact
@cyberscrilla so basically it's not on the go if i was out I'd still need the computer
It is on the go. I just said: you can use your PHONE or COMPUTER.
I use my ledger wallet outside at the park no issues
Man you should get the Bitcoin Edition is so Beautiful with that Orange color , just got mine few days ago!!!
Heck yeah! I really like the BTC edition too. Maybe I’ll get the Stax in that color 🤔
@@cyberscrillado they make the Stax in that color? Don't think they do?
So is it recommended to have more than one device to store your crypto?
Yes, this is common practice.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be an additional device, but at the very least, a different seed phrase (wallet).
It’s just more convenient to use multiple devices.
@@cyberscrilla ok. I think I’m understanding
Let me know if you have any questions
Any discount codes on the Flex ?
Ledger will never offers discounts. But you get free BTC if you use our link, which is basically a discount.
Is sending crypto to an exchange to sell easier with the flex?
It’s the same process regardless of which wallet you use. Super simple process, only takes seconds.
Can you make a stax vs flex ?
When I have the Stax I will.
I don't understand the screen - you said it's never been used on any piece of tech before then describe how it's basically just an e-ink kindle display.
I was wrong. The Stax screen is the one that’s never been used before. It’s a curved, plastic, e ink screen. The flex is standard glass e ink screen with gorilla glass protector
for 250 bucks it should have runes/ordinals custody. but great review as always!
That can always be added later. Thanks for watching!
Is it better secure then the nano x ?
Usability wise, it’s WAY better.
Security wise, it’s the same.
Does it link to websites apps and extensions that connect to nano X/S?
Yes, you can connect it to dapps.
Why there is case that someone needs to use it when it is dark?
Not sure.
haha i just added same comment .
Is it worth upgrading from nano X to flex??
Only if you don’t like the functionality of your Nano X. The flex is much larger with a touchscreen, that’s about the only diff though.
Security wise, they’re equal
I been wondering how long you going to trust that the iPhone 8 is going to work for your crypto?
I only use it to make videos. I don’t use the 8 in day-to-day life.
Hehe ok good to hear. Was wondering if you really used that old phone to handle your crypto😂
And even then. I would trust it. I don’t use it for anything, and it doesn’t even have a SIM. So it’s probably safer than my current phone.
what’s wrong with a iPhone 8 🤷🏻♀️
Can you do a Ledger Flex vs Ellipal Titan 2.0 video?
Do you prefer this to tangem?
They both have their uses. Tangem is still more convenient and more durable.
But the Flex has more security features including the U2FA which is awesome for securing all my online accounts.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either.
Waiting for limited edition Full Black like nano x before.
That would be cool!
So if I really just want to use it as a cold storage is it good for that? Like store my bitcoin and leave in my safe?
I have ordered through the link , when will the Free btc be received or better yet who will issue it?
During your purchase there should be an option to add your free BTC voucher to your order, then later you can redeem it in Ledger Live.
Ledger explains it here: www.ledger.com/how-to-redeem
I saw you make a comment in snother of your videos saying that the Flex wouldnt be your first, second or ,12th choice. Something along those lines. What changed? Or is that still the case?
I didn’t say that. I said Ledger wouldnt be my first second etc choice.
What’s changed is I did my research. Ledger is one of the best wallets on the market. Before, I didn’t believe they were.
Now I own all their wallets and use them myself. Really happy with ledger, ESPECIALLY the flex
@dsp4392 (some guy) -6mo ago
Tip #1: Don't use a Ledger. It's barely more secure than a phone wallet.
@cyberscrilla (you) 6mo ago
Agreed. Ledger is NOT my first, second, third, fourth, or even twelfth choice
I did my own research and decided to order one anyway, but then I saw this video with you giving it praise so I figured you changed your mind. Thanks for your response and for the info
@@cyberscrilla I am new to your channel. Before you decided Ledger was the best, what was your go to wallet company? What made you change?

Stupid question which I think I know the answer to. I have the keystone wallet - I kept the seed phrase and transferred it to my OneKey - and the coins are safe and sound and show up on the OneKey app. Is it okay for me to wipe and smash the keystone and throw it away and delete the okx app - I’m assuming yes - since it’s not about the hardware and the app but about ALL ABOUT protecting the seed phrase. I know, I should know the answer but I don’t want to do anything stupid.
Yes. Just ensure you have access to all your crypto via the seed phrase. Why are you smashing keystone?
@@cyberscrilla thanks for the support. Yeah, all the funds are on one key - but ultimately it’s all about the seed phrase. The keystone is useless. It won’t charge. I tried to do a firmware update but it says not enough battery, but it won’t charge beyond a certain point. The only way I can use it is if it’s plugged in - that has to be the worst wallet on the planet (for me). Smashing because I want to destroy the chip. I’ll keep the OneKey and Flex as my long term wallets.
There’s a way to fix that. I had the same issue and fixed with Keystone’s guidance. I can give you instructions to fix it if you want.
