Just got my Tangem 3 cards a week ago.. I opted out the seed phrase because Tangem has a whole video on why it isn’t safe.. I would follow the creators of the products advice than not.
Tangem cards are great... I always had an issue with the cold wallets that have batteries in them because most of these cold wallets that have batteries only last maybe 5 to 8 years if you're lucky.. where is the chip inside this tangem is good for a 25 plus years... plus I like the seedless phrase type of thing because people always lose that damn phrase... and if you ever pass away it makes it so much easier for your wife and kids to access your valuables.... so what I usually recommend people doing is having this card type wallet and having the best battery-operated one as well for connecting to a pc
I have been a brand new follower but I wanted to say that your videos are super informative and you have such a natural way of explaining complex concepts. If you have a discord or a community, I would love to be part of it.
*Hi, can you post a video about Tangem exposing user seed phrases via email? Been in the news over the last few days and I'm wondering if I should ditch mine for a more secure wallet. Thanks.*
Tangem did not expose the seed phrase, that is misinformation (a private key is not the same thing as the seed phrase). I posted about the bug yesterday on my community tab if you want to check it out. I will continue using my Tangem wallet as usual personally.
The latest Tangem update in the past few days fixed this. Before this, and you created a seed phrase, then to be safe, it is better to reset your card and either create a new seed phrase with the updated app or go the seedless route (which has always been Tangem’s recommendation). For more security with the seed phrase route, after you have created it, reset the card again, enter your seed phrase and the choose the optional Passphrase route where you can add a 25th custom word or phrases.

Hello- can you give me a link to show how to connect my coinbase to Keystone 3 pro in simple terms? Every video ive tried has to much complex instructions for this hopefully simple part?
I’m not sure what you mean? Tangem cards are immune to NFC skimmers and the secure element ship is EAL certified so it’s immune to remote and physical attack attacks. The recent bug was an issue with the app not the actual Tangem cards.
Nope, not at all. It’s nothing like a crypto exchange. To set up a cold wallet you pretty much just hit the set up button write down your seed phrase, which is the master key to your wallet, and you’re good to go To send crypto to your wallet, you simply copy the receiving address from your wallet and then wherever you’re sending crypto from, you paste that receiving address and hit send
Thanks for this video, I bought the tangem as beginner and easy to use and versatile purposes, with the intention of buying another wallet for a "at home wallet", aka trezor / keystone 3, But i need to see how the keystone works as its an air gapped wallet.
It all works the same, the main difference is with an airgap wallet, you scan QR codes to initiate the transaction, versus other wallets you are connected via USB-C or Bluetooth. If you don’t feel comfortable using an airgap wallet, I would highly recommend going with something more straightforward, like Ledger or Trezor. It’s also been proven that airgap doesn’t necessarily equal a more secure wallet as it still exposed to the same vulnerabilities as other wallets.
@@cyberscrilla Thank you for clarifying and fast replies. I see you always reply to help out and here i am binge watching and taking all the info in as i can lol! thanks alot man. sharing with my buddies. Will buy a trezor after this lol.

@@OmkarN Thanks for the feedback. What did you like better about last year’s style? IMO 3 Pro is the better usability over the Titan 2.0 and Onekey Pro. But the Classic 1S is good if you’re considering that one.
@ Thanks for the suggestions but onekey doesn’t ship to my country & the official reseller doesn’t have them in stock. So its already harder for me to get them. About last year video, as I am viewing it in perspective of choosing what to buy, it absolutely had best choices to choose from overall all wallets unlike this time where everything is broken down. Like eg. I do not care for some factors like price, mobile/pc linking etc. so last year video had a clear choices overall. But this makes sense too. Thanks for putting it up!
You mean USDT or USDC staking? (USD) is not a crypto. No, USDC and USDT staking is not yet natively supported in the Tangem app. Maybe in the future. It is still a great wallet imo
You can use your phone as well to manage your crypto, do transactions, etc. But to update the firmware’s it will require a desktop device (windows, Linux, or Mac)
For cold wallets that are compatible with mobile devices, I use my main phone on my home WiFi. No VPN. None of that is necessary. That’s the point of a cold wallet. It removes the keys from your device and stores them offline on the cold wallet device
@cyberscrilla I've gone down an endless rabbit for the past two hours trying to find answers online not knowing you replied to my comment lol. I did originally want to purchase the flex but I couldn't find a reputable seller in the UK, import tax is crazy over here. Thanks so much for your recommendations, I'll be checking out the 1s shortly
Seems like an unfinished product due to its poor battery and the airgap feature didn’t work when I first bought it. For the price I’d go for something like the Ledger Flex, Trezor Safe 5, or Keystone 3 Pro if you’re after air gap
Safe 3 over safe 5 for best open source? I assume because of price? Also, i thought you can actually change the firmware of the Bitcoin-only versions of both Personally not sold on the importance of Ledger’s secure screen after looking into it a bit
Correct they are essentially the exact same wallet the only difference being the screen, so I prefer the more affordable option as they’re both equally secure. And according to Trezor, if you buy the bitcoin only model, you cannot change it to the multi coin firmware. But you can change the multi coin firmware to bitcoin only. And I’m not sure what you mean regarding ledger’s secure screen, but it makes perfect sense. All hardware wallets use a general micro computer for basic functions of the wallet (this is the same kind of chip found in toasters and remote control). These chips or micro computers, are not built with security in mind, so in theory and in practice, these types of chips are more vulnerable to hacks. And in most wallets, this general purpose chip sits between the secure element chip, and the screen or buttons of the device. So what ledger has done is eliminated the general purpose MCU, and replaced it with a dedicated secure element chip, effectively eliminating the MCU as a vulnerability.
@cyberscrilla oh so it's a one-way firmware change, good to know. I'm mainly talking about the actual attacks listed and described on ledgers site. The ones addressed by the secure screen require an attacker to physically steal and replace your device, if I'm understanding their explanations. Technically, yeah the MCU chip could be manipulated...but youre already severely compromised by the time something like that happens. If they really have THAT level of physical access, idk that this helps all that much. I'm certainly no expert but it seems like you're cooked already if this becomes relevant. So could it become relevant? Sure. Does it make sense to buy a significantly more expensive wallet to guard against this? Idk, maybe if you're michael Saylor but generally you could just use more analog methods of making sure your property hasn't been tampered with in your absence.
No, if you get the universal model, you can change between both firmware (multicoin and bitcoin). If you get the BTC only model, you’re stuck with the BTC only firmware. And you’re correct, it mainly safeguards against physical attacks.
Happy new Year 🎉 How u think about the new Tangem Risk according to seed phrase risk. How secure is Tangem from now on? & if I setup my own seed 1Month ago. Did not send or received any E-Mail to Tangem Support. Do I need to change seed phrase or not. What u reckon? Thx for reply
Happy New Year! I’m still using Tangem with confidence as the bug has been fixed and new security measures implemented. You don’t need to change the seed phrase as you wouldn’t be affected by the bug since you didn’t use the contact support button. Only thing i recommend doing if you haven’t already is update the app and you’re good to go 👍
I purchased tangem using your code, black stealth on dec. 12th when do I receive it? I haven’t got reply from tangem but it did say the product not available? How come?
Those were on back order at that time, but the website did have an estimated shipping date. I believe they began shipping Dec 27 if i remember correctly
No. That is the point of crypto, you become your own bank. You own the keys to your money. So if you lose the keys (your seed phrase) you will never be able to regain access to your funds.
From what I've read, if you only hold bitcoin this is a good option, to keep it in a bitcoin only wallet, as holding only bitcoin in other wallets that support many other cryptocurrencies isn't ideal. I believe Bitcoin University had an in depth video about this
The whole bitcoin only wallet is mainly a marketing thing there’s no real security advantage over using a bitcoin wallet versus a non-bitcoin only wallet Sure, you could be more likely to have part of the Wallet compromise if you’re trading on different blocking networks and sign a malicious transaction approval, but that would be a user error not a device failure or compromise

Great video mate. What happens in the unlikely case that any of these companies, e.g. Ledger, go out of business and you have your keys on their wallets?
@@cyberscrilla Thanks for the quick reply dude. So I should think of the s-phrase as 'blockchain specific' and not tied to any brand. I guess my follow up question is how are s-phrases compatible across cold wallets - Is the code for generating them the same no mater what device you use?
The seed phrase is the master key to a wallet. Most cold wallets on the market follow the BIP39 Standard, which describes how these seed phrases are created. That’s why you can create one seed phrase on one wallet, and import it into another brand wallet. Crypto isn’t stored on a wallet, the wallet holds the keys used to access your crypto on the blockchain. The seed phrase being one of those keys
@@cyberscrilla Ah-ha! BIP39 Standard - that's the bit of knowledge I was missing :) Awesome thank you dude! Crypto not stored on the wallet etc I understand (but thank you for the extra info) - I was hesitant to get too reliant on any cold wallet brand without knowing the above. Hope that makes sense. Appreciate it for posting! Looking for advice: My wallet on OKX contains some TRX 20 USDT, and I have the recovery phrase: -clean- -party- -soccer- -advance- -audit- -clean- -evil- -finish -tonight- -involve- -whip- -action-. How to go about moving them to Bitget?
Awesome content thank you so much , excuse my ignorance, so if you use your cold wallet to purchase crypto etc, aren’t you actually connected on the Internet exposing your cold wallet?
Depends how you go about it. But I recommend using your cold wallet as a dedicated storage wallet, meaning you don’t connect it to external websites, otherwise you risk signing a malicious transaction approval. So how I do it, if I buy my crypto on an exchange, send it to my cold wallet if we’re safekeeping, then send it back to the exchange when I’m ready to cash out .
So u use a hot wallet which I believe is an exchange? to make all your transactions , when to protect your investment you remove it and transfer it to your cold wallet?
I appreciate you putting yourself out there to help educate and inform! Do you know If Trezor still using the same chip that they found the side door in? ~Much Love

Is this the best option for fees etc or would you have a suggestion? I don’t want to end up paying huge fees if there are alternative options. I’ve also heard that it maybe worth getting a bitcoin only wallet for that amount Thanks for your time.
Hey Scrilla & Happy New Year! By mistake I started setting up my Keystone 3 Pro through my cellphone and it didn't work because it's computer only i realized. So should I reset the wallet and start over or try again in the state it's in? There's no $$ in there because i didn't get that far.
@@DEM78976 with the amount of coins, usability of the device, improvements, i would say Onekey. If u don’t care about it being easy to use or having a app, maybe keystone pro 3 for security
Why do i prefer tangem is mostly bcz its so portable and people will hardly recognise that im investing in crypto even if they saw the card..and on that I'm getting backup cards.. other wallets like ledger and trezor dont have any backup cards like tangem and if i lost the main hardware of that cold wallet then I've to buy again which is super expensive.. so prefer tangem over most of em
But if you lose all the tangent cards, you will lose all your crypto. But, if you have seed phrase from other cold wallets, you can recover all your crypto.
I currently have tangem wallet - would you recommend using this to store my btc on aswell? I currently only have alts on there but want to hold btc long term and not sure if to get something like trezor 3 ot just stick it on the tangem? Your thoughts would be appreciated Thank you
Do you need a SSN or a IDV to send or receive crypto on a tangem wallet? Can you also store XRP,XDC,XLM? I’m not using it to buy or sell mainly just for storing

Hey. Nice content. New sub. Question. I’ve been with RH since a good while back. No knowledge of Wallets then. Had some unfortunate life events and just got back to investing. Looking at getting everything out of RH. But I set up my send and receive option of which is under review. Not happy about this. Will the Tangem be compatible for transfer easily from RH after my review is clear? Also using iOS and Mac
Hey, thanks for watching! Sorry to hear that, hopefully everything is good now. Good idea to get stuff of RH or any type of centralized exchange for that matter. That said, yes, once you get the approval to send externally, you can easily send crypto to Tangem or any cold wallet from RH. My only advice is to make sure the wallet you’re looking at getting supports the crypto you plan to send to it and you’ll be golden 👍
I sure would like to know how that goes for you as I’m going to do the same thing. Not feeling too good about RH. Getting bad vibes on X regarding delays and crappy if any support.
Might be the best price, but does not mean it’s the best budget wallet imo. As I explained, I wanted to cover one that I believe offers best bang for your buck
Ah, now i see. You look at the lack of shipcoin support as a negative for a hardware wallet. Makes sense why you wouldn't even mention the hardware wallet used by arguably the majority of people that own any significant amount of Bitcoin.

@@cyberscrilla Thx for your response. If you go on 1inch directly you will have a slippage of 0.1% (main crypto) that you can override and you will have a 2% fix slippage on tangem app.
The amount you are going to receive is not the same when you go directly with the app or directly with 1inch

What you feel about the ellipal titan???
Hello- can you give me a link to show how to connect my coinbase to Keystone 3 pro in simple terms? Every video ive tried has to much complex instructions for this hopefully simple part?
What is the best cold wallet you can trade in and lowest trading fees?tangem express fees?
They all have similar trading fees because they all use the same aggregators. So any of them. I like Tangem and Ledger as they support a lot of coins
Happy New Year Alex. Thanks for a great year 2024. On track now with Tangem. Thanks to you.
You rock Anthony. Cheers to a blessed 2025!
@@cyberscrillayou seen the issue with Tangem bug keeping the seed in a log file
Can anyone tell me what’s stopping me from just copying the nft tag in the tangem card? I keep seeing it praised but I keep seeing flaws.
I’m not sure what you mean? Tangem cards are immune to NFC skimmers and the secure element ship is EAL certified so it’s immune to remote and physical attack attacks.
The recent bug was an issue with the app not the actual Tangem cards.
Excellent comparison. Thanks
I'm happy you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Need to see that ngrave review asap 👀
Thank you so much. This is very helpful information!!!
Super glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment.
Do you need to verify your identity when you set up a cold wallet to receive crypto?
Nope, not at all. It’s nothing like a crypto exchange.
To set up a cold wallet you pretty much just hit the set up button write down your seed phrase, which is the master key to your wallet, and you’re good to go
To send crypto to your wallet, you simply copy the receiving address from your wallet and then wherever you’re sending crypto from, you paste that receiving address and hit send

Yes I want to know too please
Are you taking about a non-KYC crypto exchange or what?

@@cyberscrilla For buying and selling.

@@cyberscrilla I tried using link for Ledger Flex but BTC voucher is not added to the cart.
Hello Again, It is not added in the cart when I use your link.
Thanks for the video. I liked the last year’s style better but this is good too. I’m deciding between Keystone 3 pro, OneKey & titan. Mostly going with K3 pro since it is available here easily over others.
Hi, im looking at the tangem but does it have usd staking on the app without bridging to a third party?
You mean USDT or USDC staking? (USD) is not a crypto.
No, USDC and USDT staking is not yet natively supported in the Tangem app. Maybe in the future.
It is still a great wallet imo
Is the ngrave zero only compatible with a laptop or can I use my phone?
You can use your phone as well to manage your crypto, do transactions, etc.
But to update the firmware’s it will require a desktop device (windows, Linux, or Mac)
Are you using an ancient iPhone without a SIM card for extra security?
Nope. I only use it in videos because my new phone is the one I’m recording on 👍
@ so for your actual crypto account you use your primary phone? VPN as well or is that not a big concern?
For cold wallets that are compatible with mobile devices, I use my main phone on my home WiFi.
No VPN. None of that is necessary.
That’s the point of a cold wallet. It removes the keys from your device and stores them offline on the cold wallet device
I'm looking for a wallet that can update firmware over android and offers stablecoin staking in-app but im struggling to find one that does both
The Ledger Flex and Onekey Classic 1S offer both.
I want to purchase XRP. In my tangem wallet it says XRP ledger. Would that be the cryptocurrency XRP?
That is XRP’s native Blockchain so yes
Thanks for the great review. Could you please give your thoughts about Blockstream Jade?
It’s a good BTC only wallet. But I’d rather use something with a physical secure element like Trezor.
What do you think of the Onekey Pro?
Seems like an unfinished product due to its poor battery and the airgap feature didn’t work when I first bought it.
For the price I’d go for something like the Ledger Flex, Trezor Safe 5, or Keystone 3 Pro if you’re after air gap
Safe 3 over safe 5 for best open source? I assume because of price?
Also, i thought you can actually change the firmware of the Bitcoin-only versions of both
Personally not sold on the importance of Ledger’s secure screen after looking into it a bit
@@cyberscrilla thanks for clarifying!

@@cyberscrillathank you I will wait
what if you forgot your phrases? anyway to recover to get back into wallet
No. That is the point of crypto, you become your own bank. You own the keys to your money.
So if you lose the keys (your seed phrase) you will never be able to regain access to your funds.
Why Safe 3 and not Safe 5 tho?
Literally the same wallet. Only difference is the screen. Safe 3 is more affordable
You didn't mentioned ellipal titan 2, why? Can you tell something about it.

Very impressed with Jade!
From what I've read, if you only hold bitcoin this is a good option, to keep it in a bitcoin only wallet, as holding only bitcoin in other wallets that support many other cryptocurrencies isn't ideal. I believe Bitcoin University had an in depth video about this
The whole bitcoin only wallet is mainly a marketing thing there’s no real security advantage over using a bitcoin wallet versus a non-bitcoin only wallet
Sure, you could be more likely to have part of the Wallet compromise if you’re trading on different blocking networks and sign a malicious transaction approval, but that would be a user error not a device failure or compromise
How come SafePal dropped off from the budget pick? 👀
It’s still a solid option. But as I explain in the video, I feel like the classic one S is a better overall wallet it packs more punch for the price.
Keystone has a USBC port…. I’m confused how it’s fully air gapped. Keystone first gen didn’t….

Great video mate. What happens in the unlikely case that any of these companies, e.g. Ledger, go out of business and you have your keys on their wallets?
That won’t matter much. As long as you have the seed phrase you can import into any brand wallet to access your crypto. 👍

Why do i prefer tangem is mostly bcz its so portable and people will hardly recognise that im investing in crypto even if they saw the card..and on that I'm getting backup cards.. other wallets like ledger and trezor dont have any backup cards like tangem and if i lost the main hardware of that cold wallet then I've to buy again which is super expensive.. so prefer tangem over most of em
Yep, all solid points.
But if you lose all the tangent cards, you will lose all your crypto.
But, if you have seed phrase from other cold wallets, you can recover all your crypto.
