Both jumpers look great in such different styles. The black & white is very nordic and elegant. The 2nd one is just stunning. I love it. The mittens make me wish it was cold enough here for them. You are right - they'd make great gifts. Beautiful.
Great to catch up, the mittens were a real success. The frog is gorgeous ❤ work in progress looks great. Keep warm and safe in this stormy weather. Enjoy next week, look forward to hearing more about it.
Hi Sam, I have knitted a beanie in my own hand spun alpaca, and over time it has grown, so far it hasn't felted, despite the handwash setting the washing machine. But, my partner put his commercial alpaca jumper into the washing machine. Yes, $$$, it is now felted and shrank. As it was ruined, we put it through the wash on a normal cycle to see what would happen a few times. It is now tiny, i doubt it would fit a child.
Great show and love your new design! I can't wait to see what you dream up! I hope your tech editing class is coming along well. This will certainly help you to mitigate some of your costs for new designs. Safe travels!
You're talking dirty to me with that discussion about the Navia sweater 🖤 In terms of self designs, I've decided that if I intend to publish it, I will only show the project when its at the tech editor and I'm close to the test knit. If I have no intention of writing it up, I'll show it whenever. It's mostly cuz I have previously said I'm going to publish something and it either never comes, or it comes out a year later.
Felting will make the mittens more water proof. The Norwegians knit them on very small gauge 2mm. If you look at one of the old podcasts of Arne & Carlos, where they visited Arne's cousin who wrote a knitting book on the history/vintage Norwegian mittens, socks etc. which I purchased.

The lighting in living room is better. Lovely knits!

I have never tried a top down sweater. Will have to try it “someday” 😊

I got the book too!!!! It’s so so interesting, though that tight gauge I would probably never be able to achieve 😅

Aw thank you! I might stick to it so 😛
