What the fuck is happening at Nintendo? Ever since the Wii U their framerates have never been the same! Its like the jump to HD really f*ckd up something. Breath of the wild, Odyssey, Links awakening, this... etc etc! Not a single game can keep a steady framerate at a fixed resolution, frame drops, stutters, frame-time spikes. Im so tired of this and im really worried about the next Zelda. Their old games ran FLAWLESSLY. Locked framerate, and a fixed resolution, none of that dynamic shit and absolutely no framerate issues! What the hell is going on with the quality control?
It's even more CG awesome when you combine it with the mClassic & the other mCables & see it on a display unit. I couldn't believe it but DAMN IT'S THAT GOOD!
What developers are doing with the Switch is nothing short of a miracle. This game has no business looking this good on a mini tablet with tech from years ago.

This is actually really impressive
Yeah it's like Mario with 100% more renderpower because of the 30fps.
I'd rather it was 60fps though
@@vandammage1747 then get a high end PC, everything would be 60+ fps on there.
@@JackFrost-1856 Luigi is not on pc and I don't wan't 10 game launchers, toxic community and gamepads are worthless in online games on pc.
@@vandammage1747 then you'll have to learn to adapt to 30 fps. Not all games will be 60 even on the most powerful consoles.
Honestly, this is ONE OF THE BEST LOOKING GAMES EVER REGARDLESS OF THE PLATFORM.
It should not be possible!
*The sleeper hit of 2019.*
Was waiting for this. Thanks
I can't wait for the Sword and Shield technical analysis.
It's going to be a blood bath.
Lol
The graphics are almost Pixar like quality.
For me the animations for the characters are, but not the graphics.
To think dark moon couldve been a wii u game and couldve looked something like this
This game is very atmospheric and I'd say that it's the best looking game on the Switch so far. I've heard a few complaints about the music, however I find it to be pretty immersive and it's an accurate representation of what's happening on screen. I've only played the game for an hour or two so far and I intend to take my time and thoroughly enjoy this very unique Nintendo title.
I feel like Tom is the George Harrison of Digital Foundry.
By being the best you mean hahaha
@@allaboutjpu Ha just as good as the others but overlooked. Not quite as flashy but has all the ability.
John Linneman has to be John Lennon, obviously
Then who is Ringo?
The awkward Richard, keeping the beat while Paul and John made the girls scream!
I love you DF but damn I was expecting the RDR2 optimal settings vid. Still LM3 is fun af.
Nice breakdown
bruh
I’m surprised they didn’t mention the really impressive light scattering that comes from the flashlight. It amazes me when I aim the flashlight in a wall and it subtly reflects the light onto surrounding walls and objects. It amazes me that it’s even on switch.
Jesus this game looks good for a Switch title. It looks just as good as a lot of PS4 games!
Style plays a big part in games visually, and this one has a LOT of it
Hmmm you obviously haven't played God of war, horizon zero dawn, Uncharted 4, Until Dawn.... they look massively superior to this kiddie trash.... its not even close.
Nintendo games don't even have real facial animations
Heisenberg White not 1st party, some 3rd party games or early gen games dumbass
Heisenberg White bruh why is a 40 complaining about a Nintendo handheld? Do you like the vita? Most games were 360p like mk10 and nfs mw and much more
What the fuck is happening at Nintendo? Ever since the Wii U their framerates have never been the same! Its like the jump to HD really f*ckd up something. Breath of the wild, Odyssey, Links awakening, this... etc etc! Not a single game can keep a steady framerate at a fixed resolution, frame drops, stutters, frame-time spikes. Im so tired of this and im really worried about the next Zelda. Their old games ran FLAWLESSLY. Locked framerate, and a fixed resolution, none of that dynamic shit and absolutely no framerate issues! What the hell is going on with the quality control?
“Sucking Ghost up” I never hear that the same
Ambient occlusion on Switch is rare, glad to see it used well on this
Devs of Links Awakening need to take notes.
Its insane really how at times it feels like you are almost looking at an interactive Pixar film with this game.
Loving this game.
It's even more CG awesome when you combine it with the mClassic & the other mCables & see it on a display unit. I couldn't believe it but DAMN IT'S THAT GOOD!
Hope Nintendo&Nvidia still partners for a long time!
That's my hope as well, because I'm excited to see what Nvidia graphics can do in a dedicated gaming space.
Luigi finally getting the respect he deserves!
What developers are doing with the Switch is nothing short of a miracle.
This game has no business looking this good on a mini tablet with tech from years ago.
It's like saying that a game can't look good on PS4 because it's tech from 2011... at least Switch is tech from 2015...
@@dayko.
Yes I know, but Switch can count on quite advanced tech (both hardware and software) that make possible to show beautiful graphics while drawing only 10W (unlike XOne that must be a 100W stationary system). There are X360 that are still impressive and Switch is BY FAR more capable of an X360... so it is absolutely normal that it can perform games with very good graphics.
Now Nintendo owns Next Level Games and all its tech, hoping to grow them into an even bigger studio. I hope to see this amazing tech in other games as well!
That classic DF music in the background though
It's a track from Luigi's Mansion 3
@@sleepnaught not that one, the other track which was usually played on all of DF videos a year or two ago.
@@AchiragChiragg Yeah, sorry. Got to that part, haha. I remember that from all their GTA videos
@@sleepnaught yeah that's the one. Guessing what the track is called
Thomas seems to use it more than the others still I've noticed.
Whenever I get a OLED switch, this will probably be one of my first test games for it lol
These are some great HHHH-D graphics
*Hach D*
HEYCH-DEE
I shit you not playing for the first time yesterday I thought during the opening, "I wonder if I can spot any jaggies or lower res textures, lighting etc. That would be higher quality if this was a movie or TV show."
Near perfect!
Those spotlight shadows are not stencil-based, those are entirely shadowmapped. Stencil shadowing cannot possibly produce sub-native aliasing by its design.
@d. g. wdym?
Correct
The boss variation in this game is incredible. Every boss was totally different to the one before and was really creative in how you beat them.
Nice Red Dead Redemption 2 video you got there!
The physics and stitching
on Luigi's cap is a 10.
Huge difference compared to previous game on 3ds. Take note Pokemon sword and shield !!
well the studio next level games have experience with these 3d open games compared to pokemon company who are more used to 2d games and only had over a year compared to luigi's mansion 4 year development but yeah it doesnt excuse them for having graphics that looks like a HD psvita game honestly lets go pikachu looks better somehow
@Max Stevens agreed. Thats why I dont like Gamefreak, they just do the bare minium but never something great.
Remove the pokemon name and theme and u just a have a very mediocre jrpg
Walther Penne dude their different games, chill out.
And there are 7(?) types of ghosts in the game.
Even 5 years later, this game still remains one of the best looking switch games of all time. I can’t wait to see what Luigi’s mansion 4 looks like on the switch 2! 😊
