That Victorian convertible ring to bracelet was SPECTACULAR
that thing is insane. They need to make it again, Id pay more than 1500 euros for that ring today.
But also rather fragile.
It really was.😮😊
@@thegalhorowitzhello
It's worth 3000 quid on a bad day in 2024; easy. Gotta watch these bullocks stone merchants; with a keen magnifier.
The jewellery experts are always so eloquent and passionate in their appraising.
Their knowledge of the symbolism of every stone is so charming.
I was really hoping to hear him say.... Karl Fabergé.
Agree I love their enthusiasm
I agree! I do miss the pretty hostess and the footage of the roadshow in beautiful locations in these short cuts though.
Sometimes they get it wrong; meaning worth or estimated value.
So nice to see a jewelry compilation. I wish they'd do more of these.
I'm really interested in jewellery, especially older pieces. I wish there was more of these clips, they're the ones I watch the most.
There are so many collectors and vintage jewelry enthusiast on UA-cam. Jason Adams is one who is phenomenal. another one is Lady Sylvia . check them out.
you should get a book called ‘Stoned’ - it has a big emerald on the front cover. you’ll love it

Thank you, I definitely will.
👍🙂👍
@@ShinySuccubus Cool, I'll have a look for that. Thank you.
👍🙂👍
The lady at the end was delightful - I hope that knowing that the jade ring was so valuable won't stop her enjoying it.
Geoffrey Munn is a poet, I enjoy his eloquent way of describing the beautiful gems.
Oh wow, that ring/bracelet combo was just incredible.
The yellow brazilian diamond is just amazing!
I agree.
It deserves to be reset in a nicer ring though...
The clear sapphire is gorgeous, looks like a celonese sapphire; that bracelet/ring was amazing
You're probably right about the origin of the sapphire.
Sri Lanka* is famous for its "forget-me-not" coloured sapphires.
(* I've been corrected about the name by my Tamil neighbours...)
These prices would be higher in 2024 and even higher
here in the U.S.
The trends now
tend to be more
sleek or tailored
if you will but this
is my favorite too.
Well done and
thank you to the
persòn who put
it together!
what a fascinating statement 'its us who are the ephemeral things' I never thought about this obvious thing before. as we die but gems last seemingly forever or rather diamonds at least.
Not just diamonds. Most gems last for a very long time. Think about how long ago they were formed and how well they have survived in nature up till we get to see them in our jewelry.
I loved his words after that also - "this scintillation, this return of light is really quite inimitable". Wow. Light is what allows us to see anything, but I think of it a little deeper, that the most beautiful things are the reflecting and creating of light.
@@chlorophyllheart absolutely right
@@chlorophyllheart haha yes an emanation of light it is an almost living body of timeless light
Loved this...I love old jewellery....❤
I also enjoy their enthusiasm during their appraisals.
00's fashion was something else.
I get all giddy and love struck looking at all the sparkles & colors - absolutely beautiful, thankyou for sharing your treasures for us all to see - that was so awesome to watch 🩵
All fabulous. With the exception of the stunning jade collection - IMO I honestly think they undervalue the items a bit. They are all spectacular - I bet in the USA if sold these pieces with their associated history would be bought for almost quadruple the assessed value. Such amazingly beautiful jewelry💎
I love the jewelry compilations. So many sparkles.
Sometimes the families have been told ALL the stories the previous owner had been told or had LIVED thru. Other times they know next to nothing. I wish the young lady’s gramma had shared any of her stories she had because that treasure chest was so cool! The stories are so much fun. I think I need to record/document my jewelry so my kids and grands know what the stories are and that it’s ok if they want the money instead of keeping things in a box.
Really enjoyed the yellow Brazilian diamond, as the gal seemed genuinely interested in learning and the curator was very informative and encouraging.
The little Lalique ring is gorgeous. So delicate and in such good condition. I bet they’d sold it somewhere before they’d even got home. I hope the current owner enjoys the piece for what it is. Incidentally, the lady in the red top in the background looked so interested, at one point, I thought she’d pull up a seat at the table 😂
The yellow Brazilian diamond ring is breathtaking, very simple and definitely something I’d enjoy wearing.
Looked like 2 praying mantis’ holding hands and the white heart kinda makes it look like a mantis face.
It's just so stunning. Of all the jewellery it piqued my interest the most.
@chrisgeorge84 that's what I thought too. It reminded me of my preying mantis.
@@tessie1979right? Looks cool like 2 lovers holding hands. Even though the female eats the male in the wild lol.
@@chrisgeorge84
May I suggest you look up the Belle Époque jewellery by Lalique and others like Fabergé...
Every piece was influenced by nature.
With yellow gold, green, and pearl white the most popular combinations.
I love jewellery 💎💍 i don't care if its just costume or real. I love it all !!! 😍🥰❤️
Jewelry is my favorite part of AR.
I love the emeralds and the yellow diamond ring ❤
I LOVE the Antiques Roadshow. Such wonderful people with their amazing stories to tell. The history of each item is fascinating.
Wow the colored diamonds are just stunning ..
This expert loves the sound of his own voice!
What a life long treasury of finds. Well done,my Dear.
when I see these jewel appraisers I always think 'MANICURE!'
I have a ring that was appraised on antiques road show when it was in San Antonio Texas.
This episode seems like it’s from quite a few years ago. The value of all these jewelry pieces is probably tripled to quadrupled today.
I love that ring that turns into bracelet!
The first two are like people from an Enid Blyton book, their manner is so perfectly English and polite ❤
I adore antique jewelry.
I love those pearls that she is wearing .
Beautiful gold emerald precious stones jewellery
They're lovely.
Still top notch imperial jade is more costly...
I'm a gem collector, and jade is rather high on my bucket list.
Not green though.
But pink, lilac, and colourless "ice" jade.
Brillant.......Jewelry. ❤
The jade carved pendant looked like a sprout on a chain to me 😂
" The stone ( diamond) is much older than the setting." 😂
Just about 3 billion years older.
The concertina ring is fabulous.
😘❤️🙏🌹Thank you very much for the important information program so lonely Well-done good job God bless to the program
Indeed oh my
I would love to give some if this jewelry a good clean. I clean all of my jewelry 2 or 3 times a year..
Wow never seen a ring turn into a bracelet like that
The Victorians were quite clever !
Some high jewellery necklaces transforms into tiaras. With some pendants turning into brooches and earrings as well.
I keep thinking of Queen Mary's ( wife to George Vth ) collection of jewellery, a lot of which she had squirreled from other people. It must be worth an incredible fortune!
Crikey! I have a piece of jade like the carved larger piece this lady has...it's lavender...$4,000. !!!! I'll take it! Gobsmacked!
The young lady with the Brazilian yellow diamond seemed to be the most interested in her ring. She appeared to have given some thought about which questions to ask.
Sadly it belonged to her brother...
Beautifull pieces, lovely
I like the jades
My favorite!
I bought a bracelet at a flea market for $3 many years ago. I wore it a few times, and received many compliments. Last year I took it to a jeweler to see if the clasp could be fixed. I found out it was 14k yellow gold. I sold it, and got $1460.00.
Fabulous ❤
I love seeing the older pieces of jewelry but my one complaint is they are ALL so dirty you can't see the details of the settings and sometimes even the gems! I wish Brits would clean them before they go to show them off!
Agree lol
Enjoyable & educational 😊😊
The convertible ring is at 3:50 !
Cute! Cute!
The Laraque I believe is actually a praying mantince .
They were only there to see how much they could get for it
Yes, a mantis.
I agree. It reminded me of my preying mantis.
Fabulous content and length!
🙋♀️❤️. Lol! You have way too much fun on the job! Lucky you're your own boss!
I like the second ring. I dont know but im much interested with the design and colors of the jewelry rather than the kind of stones used
Good stuff
That was a ruby ring he is such a foaud 1000$ it values a lot more
I like this video.
7:17 absolutely beautiful
The Lalique ring appears to be in the form of a front view of the head of a preying mantis (insect). I used to keep one I caught in a jar.... trust me I won't forget those alien bug-eyes and swivelling head :)
I wanted to see the necklace that was on the news today for a better look.
Never send valuable jewelry off to be appraised with cer
And certify. Always take it in person because you don't know if diamonds or any part of the jewelry will be removed and replaced.
A friend of mine had a room full of intricate jade carvings (her father did) I wonder what became of them?
What is the 1967 R1 coin
Worth
The ring that turns into a bracelet has to be worth way more than a thousand. I would pay more than that for that ring and i dont even collect jewelry!
Don't the prices seem low? Spun gold chain or the chain with the hand are under a thousand pounds each? 🤔
@2:55 How much ?? I'm only 'ere to see how much this lucky cow's got !
Isnt that a water sapphire?
Prices seem really off and too low
all of these are worth a lot more today. 2024. so dont be shocked by the low numbers.
I can’t believe the estimates. One can’t purchase the jewelry shown on this program here in the States for the prices mentioned. I’d like to travel to England just to get some of these bargains! Any suggestions?
These may be old episodes
Such lowballing numbers! I hope no one got rid of their jewels and saved them even to today. I would love someone to update these numbers though.
The next generation is going to be sorry for not being a bit more aware of how truly important keepsakes are
The young woman with the drawer of Georgian and Victorian jewellery. Please wear it.
Yes they are .
@@BlackStump172 😍
This is a classic era when you could find a gentleman that can lie to anyone, including a camera crew, and get paid for it on top of garnering a ton of respect.
Are there praying mantises in Europe? That one small French ring looked like a mantis to me, but it wasn't mentioned. The green wasn't leaves, it was the mantis' head in my view.
Yellow 4-5 Ct diamond ring cost 12000$ or 15000$???!!! Plus one zero, and total 120000$ or 150000$ more realistic
Meanwhile American appraisal shows: Oh wow a one of a kind diamond ring that belonged to a Byzantine emperor , witnessed the fall of Alexandria, and then belonged to a Sultan..... Best I can do is 5 dollars and a punch in the face 😊
That lalique ring is worth like 15 thousand now
I just wish they would wipe the fingerprints off the stones before they hold them up to the camera. It drives me mad.
price tripled or more nowadays
Quintessentially Lalique. Unmistakable.
Seems that jade is overrated mainly due to the present demands by the chinese market. ..yet those gorgeous diamonds are underrated by comparison.
It would have been interesting to see other contents of the collection in the vanity compendium. .that was a stunning and interesting collection.
Actually what you state is quite näive. Fine quality Jade pieces from early 1900s era come from Burma, and it's all been mined by now. The color and jelly like sheen can be noted even by geologists and gemologists as quite rare and of fine quality. The current Chinese jade market has no relevance to the value of the older pieces as they are valued on their own provenance.
I inherited this from my dad who looted some other countries, isn’t it wonderful how pathetic is that
I don’t know when these were done but the estimates were lowwwww.
Agree
That yellow stone is breathtaking. God's work definitely.
