Soooo helpful! I love your UA-cam personality 😁
Thank you so much! I never thought to wash my shirts 3x to get rid of the fabric softener. Makes sense!
Thank you for all your details
I want to use French Fuse can I use it on knits bathrobe and sweatshirts I am making a memory quilt for sister in law whose mom passed two weeks ago. I love your personality! Thank you for your shopping recommendations.. you are a rock star!
On the question of using T-shirts back and front lined up; could you do it quilt as you go? I’m thinking larger blocks and sashing to join the blocks.
Is French fuse woven and is it cotton? Does it shrink? Does it need to be pre-washed?
Can you use a 300 count sheet for the back of the Tshirt quilt?
My first time making a t-shirt blanket and I'm totally upset cause everything shifted, so how do I correct it
What do you think of using heat and bond for stabilizer?
Heat and bond just acts like a glue, if you used it to fuse to another muslin or cotton it would work but would be more costly and time consuming that way. Without the fabric to adhere to the glue you wouldn’t be able to press your seams or anything
Thanks for all the good info. You mentioned needles, but did I miss the type to use? Jersey or quilting needles?
Glad to help! For peicing I use an 11, for domestic quilting, universal 12, for long arming i use a 16 or 18 with a silicone lubricant on the needle. Quilting needles aren't super necessary. Does that answer your question?
@@KatchiVatchi, yes, thank you. Was just wondering if I needed to use a Jersey ball point needle to piece. And then what to use when Fmqing.
Awesome! Glad we could help. If you are using a stabilizer on jersey you won't need a jersey needle.
@@KatchiVatchiI had problems using an ordinary needle and wish I’d used a ball point. I had to unpick a seam and after I washed the quilt I had a row of holes. I’m now doing some decorative mending to cover it up.
Can you purchase French fuse at JoAnns?
Yes ma’am! They typically have it a two of three colors
@@KatchiVatchi where ?
I have a t shirt quilt dilemma. The pieces given to me are jaggedly cut way to close to lettering which leaves little space for a seam allowance. The pieces range from large to very very small. Any insight into how to begin?
I had this happen to me. It was in the beginning of my quilting journey. I regretted it. I couldn’t get it to my standards. I’m interested to see what others say.
When I did my first quilt I had some small T-shirts which weren’t big enough for a block. I got round it by appliquéing the smaller piece onto a larger T-shirt block. Looks nice with some blocks having borders.
would you use lame' like from dance outfits, and how would you stabilize it?
Talks too much
Ok tube, feels like I'm in a therapy group.
