Thank you for this really useful video. Please can you tell me when I can find the Part 2 video that you speak of, regarding the replacement of the tube? Thanks a lot, and have a fantastic day!
Thank you for showing us how. I had a very awkward tube that wouldn't come out so I gently used a small screwdriver to initially lever the tube off its white circular seat; when it had become loose enough I was then able to wiggle it the rest of the way.
good evening I want to ask you a question please. I have the studio V3 and I want to change the lamp at the moment it has the 12AX7A China which one can I put for better result and warm sound? Thanks a lot
FYI unless your tube is failing you won’t need to change it. Preamp tubes can last 30 years or more and don’t have the wear issues that power tubes do.
I used a 12AU7,the sound is less harsh and more musical

Fender and Mullard tubes are well known. However, the difference in sound quality (as compared to Chinese generic tubes) will be very minimal.

Yupp, the tube of my preamp had failed.. it was making weird frying noises and hiss. So had to change it!
