Even when a simple answer would be best, they pause for a few seconds to think if a lie would be best to say. They lie thinking they are hiding who they really are!!
All of this reduces down to GASLIGHTING. One lie covered up with another lie, no responsibility for their actions etc. It's all gaslighting. LARGE ego-LOW self esteem. Protect the fake persona at all cost. This is a great video for meeting people and filtering out narcs.

In reality, he drove a beat up, disgusting SUV, and lived in a travel trailer parked in a field next to the highway. No joke.
You described my older brother on most points. Especially the outlandish heroic stories. In every fantasy he tells, he is a hero who defies corrupt authority and is always proven right. Amazing!
They lie when they say you're the only one their interested in too. Then they ghost you the night after sleeping with you, and are in a relationship within a week that's plastered all over social media, when you might have been tagged once.

Take a break from dating, and/or from interacting with men period. Seek a relationship with Christ and self, heal, focusing on loving yourself and taking care of yourself, be willing to say no, set boundaries, and learn to be okay to walk away from anyone or anything that will disturb your peace in Jesus name. I know most of these situations involving narcissistic abuse are romantic relationships. I'm interested in seeing more lists describing narcissistic friends. I had a childhood friend from school. She claimed we were bffs (and "like sisters") even though I felt like we had little to nothing in common. She manipulated me and conditioned me for several years to give her rides places and turn up when she wanted me to be present for her occasions... but then I would invite her to my special occasions and she would have last minute sick excuses (usually after acting overly excited about going for days/weeks/months). If I ever tried to bring up the subject, I would get stonewalled and the subject would be dropped. There's a lot more to it.. but it would take a book to write it all out. I went no contact 2 years ago and it's still painful. I really love watching your videos as I try to make sense of it all.
You did a beautiful job laying out these lies for us. The one thing that tends to make empaths "overlook" them is that many narcissists are "drop dead" gorgeous. And we fall under the spell of their stunning good looks and sex appeal and allow ourselves to get love bombed into a relationship that turns toxic sooner rather than later. I guess a possible solution would be to focus on what they say and not on how they look, easier said than done.
What about someone who always claims to be ill? Always a new illnesses, has to run to the hospital, doctor ect. If your sick with a cold they have the flu ect. They claim they have had the same experiences you’ve had.

this list covers my mother, my brother(s), my ex wife, my sister and omg … (i must be a mosquito attracted bad breath 🥸) seems to me that narcs elevate small lies to big lies when they see others not paying attention. my former mothers husband claims to be a psychology pro. says he worked with addicts in jails and such. the man has never met his two grandchildren, but he is a therapist married to my ex monster. i’m fascinated how narcs find other narcs and marry them. great video jill.

On the second date, my narc ex (who is not big, strong, nor trained in martial arts) told me a story about how he was in a bar with his friends, and a guy came in with a gun, and pointed it at one of his friends. And how he wrestled the gun away from the guy, but the guy took his wallet anyway, and ran out of the bar. (The last part about the guy taking his wallet made the story sound more believable.) He said he has his friends' backs. I believed him due to his nice guy facade, when I really should have taken this with a big grain of salt. Later on, he looked my best friends in the eye and told them he would never hurt me, which turned out to be a big lie.
If only I had seen this specific video 10 days ago. I definitely needed this....it would have saved me a lot of heart ache and money. Excellent video 👍👍🙂

My father, a malinent narcissist, lies about serving in Nam, being trained infantry, ect… My grampa was infantry in WW2, wounded head to toe and spent time as a POW. I was airborne infantry and parachuted into northern Iraq as a sergeant and was promoted in Iraq. My son just enlisted in the army as an IT pro. I imagine it just burns the shit out of my dad we all served honorably and he felt like he had to lie about what he did. My extended family still believe him that he was Prince at Homecoming and earned s college degree no one ever saw. He was/is pretty convincing. Sad

My child made a sexual allegation against his father. So I have stopped contact. There was an investigation and social services are involved. My sons grandmother on his dads side, came round to see my child 2 days before he was due to give an interview for an ABE, I welcomed her into my home trusting she wouldn't talk to him about the investigation and i believed it was the best thing for my child as he loves his grandmother. During the visit she gas lit my son, telling him what he said wasn't what happened. Im not sure what else she said to him, but he refused to do the ABE in the end. After believing it was in my child's best interest to see his grandmother. I then stopped further contact because she sabotaged his chances of speaking out. And also by doing this it shows she hasn't got his best interests at heart. At this current time, he isnt having contact with his dad or grandmother. Until it goes to court. Yesterday I received a parcel for my son from his grandmother. Theres a letter inside but I havent had the courage to read it because the stress is through the roof. And anxiety. What do you suggest I do? If I give my child the gift he will not understand why he can't see his grandmother because I still haven't explained to him what's going on. He is 4 and I dont know what to tell him. Or do I not give him it and get accused of parental alienation. P.s my child's father thinks im doing this to punish him and that the authorities are taking it over the top by investigating....
He didn't want to pay for after school care, so he would hide his kids in the maintenance closet at the hotel. He said he got fired because the supervisor did want to give him a raise and its not his fault

My child made a sexual allegation against his father. So I have stopped contact. There was an investigation and social services are involved. My sons grandmother on his dads side, came round to see my child 2 days before he was due to give an interview for an ABE, I welcomed her into my home trusting she wouldn't talk to him about the investigation and i believed it was the best thing for my child as he loves his grandmother. During the visit she gas lit my son, telling him what he said wasn't what happened. Im not sure what else she said to him, but he refused to do the ABE in the end. After believing it was in my child's best interest to see his grandmother. I then stopped further contact because she sabotaged his chances of speaking out. And also by doing this it shows she hasn't got his best interests at heart. At this current time, he isnt having contact with his dad or grandmother. Until it goes to court. Yesterday I received a parcel for my son from his grandmother. Theres a letter inside but I havent had the courage to read it because the stress is through the roof. And anxiety. What do you suggest I do? If I give my child the gift he will not understand why he can't see his grandmother because I still haven't explained to him what's going on. He is 4 and I dont know what to tell him. Or do I not give him it and get accused of parental alienation. P.s my child's father thinks im doing this to punish him and that the authorities are taking it over the top by investigating....
