- Every Fallout 4 Unique Weapon Explained
We've covered the unique weapons of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Today, let's take a look at the many unique weapons of Fallout 4. From melee weapons like Atom's Judgement to the infamous Ashmaker minigun, we'll be covering what these unique weapons are, where to find them, and the meaning behind their names. Fallout 4 has a whopping 71 unique weapons, and while not all are created equal, there are still some notable ones. Let's get into it.

"i miss my operation anchorage gauss rifle" so true, brother. So true 😢
Fallout 4 gauss rifle despite it's high damage rating doesn't seem effective.
@@greenspiraldragon it is, moreso in Vats.
In Vats every shot does the same damage as a fully charged shot so it works out better than outside of Vats
They really forgot to put the unique in unique weapons.
Tell me that you didn't watch the video without saying "I didn't watch the video"
tell me you lack reading comprehension without telling me you lack reading comprehension@@funki4896
Yeah but i dont think they really could have with they weapons customization system. I think. But ehh who knows.
Bro is so retarded he forgot there’s a weapon customization system
What a moron
@@funki4896no, I'd say it's a more or less accurate statement
I’m pretty sure the intended reference with General Chao’s Revenge is a play on Montezuma’s revenge AKA diarrhea. General Chao -> General Tso. Plus it would make sense being sold in a diner.
Lol
Probably an inside dev joke along those lines.
Also, Chao, sounds very similar to "Chow".
This is such a funny testing set up. Just a bunch of T-posing naked raiders.
Iirc it’s an actual cell in the game, it’s one of the dev cells.
Lv999t99
The limitless weapons don’t quite eliminate reloading, any ammo picked up while the weapon is equipped does need to be loaded in before it can be fired, which is crazy because the implication is that your just jamming way more ammo into the guns than is intended lmao
they really did unarmed dirty in 4
Unarmed suxed in every fallout except New Vegas.
@@BabySniff in OG Fallout it's quite strong too if you have low strength. Also it's really good at the start of FO2
Its almost as if punching an 8 foot tall crab isnt gonna do much. Wild huh
@@noodlepotreal on a sneak critical build any weapon type can tear through hordes of enemies in FO4
@noodlepotreal or 10ft green giant that's pure rage, and muscle
Everyone should download the mod called, unique uniques, it adds pretty cool skins to these weapons
I would also recommend that mod. I've recently added it to my list and it has since become a staple for my playthroughs. 10/10.
Is there a console version?
@@sluzy-4479For once there is
Shame the update probably ruined the mod for now
@@sluzy-4479only thing is, the mod does change some weapon legendary effects, so you might not like that.
I always thought that "Big Jim" was a reference to the Jim Croce song "You Don’t Mess Around With Jim". Maybe a stretch, but that is what it makes me think of.
That’s exactly what I was thinking of, you know they all call big Jim boss!
I thought it was just a nickname for the tool itself. I know a lot of builders and mechanics who affectionately name their tools - usually their larger hammer or wrench - big something, the persuader or something along those lines.
you missed the Zeta Gun, a gamma gun which can be found at the cabot house late in the quest line and has a unique Red projectile effect.
you also missed the Acid soaker from the Nuka-Cade
Well you can get another Zeta Gun and buy another Acid Soaker, it makes sense why he didn't mention them. Also, kind of on topic, Elijah's Laer from the New Vegas DLC Old World Blues isn't a unique weapon since you can find two of them.
He didn’t miss them, they’re not unique. You can find them in other places.
Acid Soaker. UK Simulator gun.
UP77, my guess it stands for University Point (where it was developed) 2077 (77 the year it was developed). Just a guess but that's what I've always thought
I thought the "UP" in UP77 it stands for Unlimiless potential or unlimited power.
You are correct op
@@cmcfly6722also why would it be called unlimited potential 2077 limiwtless potential. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
im wondering if its a half life reference... it shoots red lasers and doesnt need to reload like the tau cannon from half life 1, and at the end of the game the g-man says "I have recommended your services to my... employers, and they have authorized me to offer you a job. They agree with me that you have... limitless... potential" in his very memorable way. it became kind of an iconic line
14:10 General Chao's Revenge would appear to have it's name based on the concept of "bad Chinese takeout" As it references both the dish General Tsao's Chicken (often mispronounced by customers as General Chow's Chicken) and Montezuma's Revenge (a euphemism for Diarrhea, based on the Disentary that afflicted the Spanish Conquistadors during their 'colonization' of the South American continent.) This would also fit the general slant of the sense of humor in Fallout games.
The names of Fallout 4’s unique weapons are mostly pretty lame, but at least you can name them whatever you want. I’m personally a big fan of naming Kellogg’s pistol the “Widowmaker”
Widowmaker would only work with a female character though :(
@@PootisSpencerHeeyah The word Widow is for either gender that lost their spouse. It's not female exclusive
@@lunagaming816 Kind of, widow is for female. Widower is for male.
That's so dark and I absolutely love it.
You are so close with both Reba and Reba 2 they are literally a reference to the wife and rifle since it's a direct reference to the rifle that is used in tremors 2 (the guy who uses it named it after his wife so it's a direct tie-in) the exterminator affect even is even in reference to tremors since the graboids are bugs of a sort. Reba 2 is extremely effective against the blood worms in nuka-world who are technically a smaller version of the graboids basically at the dirt devil stage of their life cycle
"We use hammers because they don't draw blood"
"Sir, I believe that Pug-faced Kool-aid fountain gurgling in the corner would beg to differ"
Poor Cait l was like what'd she do lol
Bethesda content creators gonna milk Skyrim and FO4 for another 10 years because Starfield has nothing going on for it
I mean I’m fine with that considering I’m a fan of ElderScrolls and fallout, not starfield

Especially with how horrid Starfields code and bugs are, that most modders went "Nah I ain't touching that" Stanfield is going to rot.
55:14 Epic dodge by that raider
lmao
The 2076 bat could definitely belong to the Red Sox. Just because they haven't won a World Series since 1918 doesn't mean that they hadn't been to one since then in fallout lore. They likely just used that bat while playing in their most recent world series
Yeah I’m pretty sure the fallout universe splits from our timeline in the 1940s so that’s 130 years for them to win
In the opening scene one of the dioloigue options is to tell Nora that he doesn’t want to go to the park because the World Series, and the tv talks about the Red Sox playing in that upcoming day that day.
I'm pretty sure the significance of "Atom's Judgement" being a hammer is that a Judge wields a gavel, which is basically a hammer.
Norte rly the most underrated fallout content creator
YES!
I always name my legendary pick-ups, so I'd like to share a few of my favorites.
I Killed 1,000 Super Mutants and All I Got Was This Gun (legendary rad rifle w/ explosive shots)
The Probe-You-Later (plasma rifle with double shot)
And I took Reba II and made it The Gun Formerly Known as Reba. Still not good but it was early game so I got some miles out of it
I've only named two* guns in Fallout 4. Sussudia, a pipe pistol with the explosive modifier; and Lucille, the latest of a string of sniper rifles that I've found. ( I always name my favorite sniper rifle Lucille so I can find it fast when setting up a loadout.)
I've got my Boomstick: an exploding double barrel shotgun
First impression: instigating combat rifle
Steady sniper: Deadeye lever action
Stinger: poisoners meat hook
the Iron Sidearm: a mighty revolver
Rambo's Rage: Bloodied combat knife
and lastly (for now)-cruel irony: a crippling walking cane
THIS IS WHAT WE‘VE BEEN WAITING FOR! I have but one question Norte, which game houses your favorite singular unique weapon, and which game has the best overall unique weapons?
Pretty sure the Bloodletter is a reference to fishermen draining blood of the large marine animals they caught in order to prevent decomposition of the fish carcass during the return trip back to the harbor.
Yessir
The deliverer is the best. Reloads my crits really fast in case i want to use a slow charging/ap hog of a gun, and, if you couple it with the gunslinger perk, you can really take out the knees of a deathclaw (cuz ouch they run)
Would have been cool of the power fist from swan was useable in power armor. If they had swan using ot instead of his club, or even if he was just wearing it or something, it could be played off as a version for a bigger hamd, and may be useable qith power armor. Would he a really cool way to have a truly unique item, and without much effort.
the salvaged asutron head is actually super useful if you yook ghoulish as rads heal you, pair with life giver and the regen perk mag and it becomes a deadly gun that also heals you in a fire fight. od for sue but fun
you forgot the hitmans institute laser rifle from chase, you will always get it after completing The Arrival
Because you mentioned the furious Power Fist, you should also have made mention of the other guaranteed legendaries, like the Automatic Laser Musket Sturges gives you after The Nuclear Option (Minutemen) or the Power Play item rewards.
And ofcourse minor mistakes like the Cryolator not being with the other heavy weapons, missing The Striker's Legendary effect.
Wow you took me back in time. I was born in 65 and had a big Jim . He had a button on his back when you press it he gave a karate chop. And he came with an axe so that we could make him chop wood. That was technology back then
UP77 maybe refers to the Prototype number 77 of the University Point which can be connected to the nuclear research at University Point
I also saw someone say that the 77 could mean 2077
76 has a good mix of both older style unique weapons and 4s legendary system. I like that almost all of the named legendary weapons have unique appearances.
I think that the butcher hook is a reference to the song "butcher pete" that plays on diamond city radio
I think the hammer of atoms judgement was because judges use a hammer to give punishmet but that long story would be cooler
After having seen the New Vegas video I couldn't wait for this one, thanks N_orte
Great vid on the unique weapons. I always found Lorenzo's Artifact to be one of the most peculiar ones, gets its cool factor from lore rather than being a pointless weapon besides the mod it has. I never knew it can be applied to other gamma guns though!
I can't help but wonder if the reason everyone made mods that make legendary effects be detachable from gear is Kremvh's Tooth.
Instead of it being an exception that probably only exists due to an oversight or limitation, people seemingly demand it be the rule. :/
Also as soon as you brought up Old Reliable I immediately quoted Patrick when he got Ol' Reliable.
Zetans die to molotovs very easily in the early game. I found that out when I went for the Zetan Arsenal dlc right out of the vault.
"the wait is over..." yes, yes it is. love the content lol.
I was hoping for another long fo4 analysis, thanks for your work :)
It's sad that not only are the "Unique" weapons not that unique, but you can straight up just get them as a legendary drop if you're lucky enough. Makes the quest locked ones like Overseer's Guardian really lame unfortunately
the wait is over finally a good video. i have only known about like 15 unique weapons damnn
35:45 it actually does the 25% limb damage AND 25% regular damage in exchange for more recoil. I didn’t realize it till I reread the legendary effect
55:16 dude dodged that like a pro
The was very interesting history on hammers and religious figures!
When I hear “Sword Of Wonders.” I like to think of it being because the man who you kill is a magician, whom performs “Wonderous Feats that you have to see to believe!”
UP 77 refers to University Point and the year it was made (2077)
if you get the ghoulish perk where raditation heals you the salvage assaultron head becomes OP af
Brother just in time for the morning shift I love you ❤️
Funny enough I just ran outa things to watch
Love your channel! Could you please make a fallout 3 iceberg?
14:15 you got it there. the unique weapon is named after the chicken dish that’s mistakenly said as general chao’s instead of genereal tsao’s
Given that the General Chow's revenge is sold at a diner it probably is a reference to the chicken dish.
i could be wrong, but I think it’s combining the General Tso’s and Chow Mein to make the name
Believe it or not the most common murder weapon in America is a hammer. That story about hammers not drawing blood is pretty silly when you think about it. Most bludgeoning weapons do in fact draw lots of blood. 🙄
Id love to watch these for armor/clothing on the fallout as well
Spray n pray is easily the best weapon in game with the proper perks. It's legitimately insane
If your job is to free synths and you make a "delivery", it means you succeeded. The "Deliverer" name can be referencing its own awesome performance and it's play on the word for the tool that helps an agent to succeed in "delivering" synths.
4 really did unique weapons dirty
1:01:20 up77 probably means university point, 2077
In regards of December’s Child, I’m pretty sure Oxhorn had found the connection in one of his Far Harbor videos, though I don’t recall it (nor the particular video).
Good stuff. Many thanks
the nuka nuke launcher has the same thing going on as kremvth's tooth where you can take the mod off and put it on otber weapons, like Big Boy
why didnt youtube recommend this sooner smh
You think you have it bad 😔😔😔
N_orte About heinsaw bleade.. In prev follout it was gr8t from fact, that it was constankt dps (with "on hit" bonuses it rocked). I`m first timer on f4. Is it still on it?
The hammer was also a representation of authority, kings would ofter have a mace or hammer, and alot of people all over the world in some point have a mythical figure using a hammer, in some form,
Think like a judge in a court room uses a hammer for silence and sentence, and magistrates of juctice use to carry a hammer as they did round about the city.
There's a particular reason why I need a minimum of 106 mods to enjoy the game (mostly restoring cut content and adding legacy gear)
please give me the entire list, I desire more mods
I didnt even realize most of these existed, 4 is the only one i didnt bother replaying
Surprisingly educational.
Since I'm playing thru this game again this is perfect timing
Butcher’s Hook is also Cockney rhyming slang for look.
the butcher's hook is cockney rhyming slang "to take a look" = "let's have a butcher's at that mate"
you said a kiloton paints a good picture for reference I don’t know how big a kiloton is or if that’s the normal size of one stick of dynamite 😂. great vid tho
Kiloton... one thousand tons... I'm not immediately conjuring weapons of that power level, either.
I'm just taking military bombs I've read about, and multiplying them by x to equal a kiloton, myself. Haha.
UP77 Probably stands for University Point and the year the weapon was made
The "Big Jim" reference is probably to an old song. "You don't mess around with Jim" By Jim Croce. Not a bad song
The Cannon Ball Mod on a minigun is quite the sight, even worse the computer killer, minigun with mini nuke MIRV mod.
There's actually a second unique Gamma Gun, you can just find it inside Cabot House.
theres a "Big Jim" in a Bob Dylan song "Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts." He owns the town's only diamond mine. but nothing about wrenches I dont think
I always thought rhought the harvester was owned by the local cannibal in lumber mill
The spray and pray is a game breaker.
The throat slicer could be a reference to the grand Budapest Hotel
Survivors special is a unique weapon as its the only gun that has the bloodied effect
Ripping is referring to saws designed for cutting wood along the grain rather than against the grain.
The World Series bat is an all time favorite fo weapon.
My theory on why General Chao’s Revenge is named that is because Chao and Chow are pronounced the same, and Chow is another name for food, making sense for why she’d have it
Not only would they not put the work in to give them unique designs or balance different parameters, they couldn't even be assed to give them good names.
General Chao's revenge might refer to General Ma Chao of the Shu kingdom and his quest for revenge for his father's death.
Ive gotten so used to the “unique uniques” mod that I straight up forgot what half of these weapons look like in vanilla or what their normal stats are
Never heard of it what does it do?
@@Govrin. it makes every “unique” gun in fallout 4 have both a unique design and a unique perk. Example: the sword that did extra damage to robots now makes robots explode when they die.
Clerics aren't proficient with hammers in D&D, they just have a general Simple Weapons proficiency.
whenever I play fallout 4 I always like to take Kellogg's Pistol and redeem the weapon by using it as my main weapon.
up likely means untested prototype considering where it is found and the lore of it
Butcher’s hook is probably referencing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Though not near as common as in history bloodletting is still practiced too this day is certain places across the world.
IIRC you can modify the Big Boy to fire Nuka Nukes
It is hard to choose one when there are so many choices!
Wondering if the Harvester is a reference to the 1990s game Harvester. Pretty sure you had a chainsaw in that.
Also, I might be dumb, but wouldn't the Shishkabab or however it's spelled be a unique melee weapon? As far as I'm aware there's only one in Fallout 4 that you get from the Finch Farm quest.
39:38 why did bro start hitting the griddy 💀💀
Wait did he forget Reba II. Thats the one given for completing the quest in Salem and it does 15% to mirrlurks
this video is awesome
A weapon with the word Chow being sold at a diner could be a simple pun. To chow down means to eat.
UP77 is likely a designation like "University point experement 77"
I always thought that 'Big Jim' came from alot of plumbers seemingly being named Jim
experiment 18-a there are people who claim that it is a reference to the woman "android 18" from akira toriyama's dragon ball.
