First Time Out With Truck Tent Camper! Full Setup and Tour!
We're thinking about building out a full-on truck camper. So we thought we'd try a truck tent first. For $189 we found a truck bed tent that works. It's really all you need to go camping if you have a truck. Just grab some basic stuff from around that house, and head for some BLM land! That's what I did. Alone. In the dark. And in the rain. And I got stuck. Again. Like always.

We thought about buying one, my wife and I and we figured it would probably be very difficult to camp in it, up and down the bed so we just bought a used 18’ RV , we already have a V-8 ford 4x4 so it was easy, making it easier we got a generator 4000 watts. 🎉😂😅
Ya... hard to do a tent when an RV is an option!
I think these are so much better than a camper they look nice and you can make them homey as you want being creative is key

I was skeptical when you first told me about the truck tent, but I'm thinking this could be a nice option, especially with the mattress topper. The fact that tailgate can be down to give you extra length is key for me.

@@LyfeUntethered A shell wouldn't be able to utilize the extra length from the tailgate. I have a short-bed truck, so would be forced to sleep in a "bent" position

Great video A realistic review for real people. I get bent when I “smoke” come to Australia (Queensland) we can dive the reef and get Bent afterwords haha haha

@lyfeuntethered, I like the design of this tent better than my Napier for the one reason you mentioned ruined: that damned tarp bottom. I think the over shell is a better design and certainly it packs smaller.
My Napier is better suited for Winter camping, as it is fully waterproofed, so it’ll definitely collect vapor on the inside, making you think there’s a leak somewhere.
Did you work for Hollywood or something? Very valuable and entertaining video! I may just try truck camping one of these days because of it. :)

We took the truck out a few weeks ago, but it was so nice we didn't bothere setting up the tent! Just slept in the back of the truck under the stars!
