Thanks for letting us know how the tent handled the snow. I am going to be getting that same tent and know it’s a 3 season tent without the covers on the windows.
As a truck driver I got to see the run into Phoenix from the North from Flagstaff. Saw the elevations for the first time and literally said this must be where it snows In AZ. It was 105deg everywhere that day
Great video!!= Yep, just like my northern Canada.= Me 76 I still CAP truck camp.= ALWAYS, have CO2 detector just below the head.= Was road Paramedic 1960 / 2000= now 21 yrs. PTSD. This life saves me!!!!!
Something you might think about 12 volt electric blanket, I've had one for over 14 years and I also have a 12 volt coffee maker which in 7 minutes you got hot water for anything you want.!!!! I have all the goodies I have a Napier backroads camo I have a full size air bed that fits right between the wheel wells queen size sleeping bag also a sleeping bag liner and a 12 volt electric blanket just in case. I'm thinking about getting me a little like 5 ft 1x10 and round all the corners and sand it down and use it for a shelf and just put it up at the far end then you got a shelf and you can set everything on it.
Crazy people do the crazy things, but I love it! Very enjoy the outdoor activity special sitting at home and watching the video feel I’m at the camping area.
Propane heaters burn clear. Learned that living on a military base and had to call the fire department when my utility room in base housing seemed to hot. They responded and the exhaust from the heater was actually venting into the utility room and the CO2 detector next to it never went off. The FD said its because propane burns clear. (Never defined what that meant)
I have the Napier with the Sportz Link tent for the ground behind the truck and it is well worth it. I have a Ford F-350 with an 8' bed and that Napier tent is almost 10 feet long to where it ends on the tailgate so with the Sportz Link the whole thing is like 18 feet long. I also put an ez up after the Sportz Link for a vestibule so it is closer to 28 feet when all said and done. I have a 30' toy hauler and I prefer going places it can't make it to go hunting and fishing so this is the answer for me.
I have a Napier truck tent as well, but it is far from water resistant even with the rain fly. That last two times I went camping the Tent was soaked and it didn't even rain....I will throw extra tarps over the tent next time... after watching your video you mentioned condensation. My fiance and myself were in my tent maybe thats why is the tent was soaked...
Dry in sun well, spray 3 M, water and stain gaurd, it recommend this when you buy new, good insurance from getting wet, you have a broken seam, inspect, if so use a nylon patch kit, but if it didnt rain, ITS CALLED CONDENSATION, CRACK THE WINDOWS

10:55 - 11:05 did anyone notice the wolf face in one of the hollow bowls kinda thing??? creepy.awesome video though..where in AZ did you camp if you don't mind me asking
@@mrs.c5471 Propane is indeed a wet heat, but absolutely CAN be used in a tent. With proper ventilation, it's usually no big deal. Condensation will always form no matter what depending on the weather and ground conditions. Its an accepted part of winter camping.
Realistically if Springbar actually sold a truck tent, I'd of payed more just because China isn't involved. They design their products in Salt Lake City and manufacture them in Salt Lake City as well.
As much as can be expected, the fly still keeps airflow throughout and the top vent works well at keeping heat distribution good. Most of the condensation came from the buddy heater.
WOW! Really enjoyed your vlog. I am a lifelong resident of the Deep South so as you might guess my vaca motto is "if it ain't snowin, I ain't goin"! I have a truck bed tent arriving today and your overnight has me super stoked! Unfortunately, I will have about an 11-hour drive from the beach to the Smokies. Your camera work was very good, as was your voice-over. Straight forward, no 50 cent words just gorgeous scenery. Def leaned on the like and subscribe! now for some constructive criticism if I may? I have been a personal witness to how quickly a hatchet can ruin a camping trip, especially in freezing conditions, even while being used by experienced hands. This particular habit keeps the National Guard current on their extractions but it will cost you around $1,500 if conditions force a chopper to come from Knoxville. No matter what one wishes to accomplish with a hatch, there is a MUCH SAFER tool to get it done. Second, I think you might have used the heater only when you were awake and let a good sleeping bag do its thing until morning. Other than that, I cant wait to see (and hear) your next outing! Question; You have the Backroadz tent? -vs- the Sportz truck tent with awning. wondering the pro/cons between two. I'm pushing 70, but wanting to try truck verse ground tent. Like being of ground idea
Which ever you buy be sure to upgrade the poles to aluminum. I measured mine and ordered aluminum poles from Amazon. The fiberglass easily shatter because the fit is so tight. I purchased new poles 1" shorter than the original poles.
I live and camp in north western Canada. Rarely do we experience the common damp cold and wet snow of what the U.S. gets. Damp cold and snow sucks the heat out of beings like jumping into an Arctic Ocean. I feel for your cold. Yes I am Canadian and no we are not the cold lovers and survivors like the myths.
Gen 7 and above Ford F150s don't have a gas cap. This is a 2013. They use a yellow door mechanism in the fuel slot that opens and shuts the the port. I think they call it "easy fuel" or something like that.
I'm from north western Canada and not boasting about it. The damp/wet snow you are dealing with is absolutely the most uncomfortable and difficult to deal with. Moisture/water sucks heat out of everything faster than anything. I'd rather live or camp at 0F/-18C than in damp conditions. Often I wished it would get colder to have warmer feet.
Yeah, I live in south MS and we dont get any snow but when it does get down in the teens for that odd day or two, Ive had people from Maine tell me they never felt the cold with 100% humidity. Its a different type of cold that zaps you from the core. I was up in Altoona, PA one Christmas where it snowed 24" one day and I was out walking in it all day and was fine....but in 20 F at 100% humidity, Im running for the heat!!

You betcha! I can't testify as to how it would do in a multi-day heavy snow event, but it certainly outperformed my expectations on this trip.
As a truck driver I got to see the run into Phoenix from the North from Flagstaff. Saw the elevations for the first time and literally said this must be where it snows In AZ. It was 105deg everywhere that day

You can’t use a buddy heater in a tent, it causes condensation, this is why you have water inside and everything is wet.
Wrong.
