I'm in Houston, Texas USA, drinking coffee, and wondering why it was so cold here this morning. Then you said, "Envelope pockety things". Lady, I just love your accent and your amusing phrases. You always say something that cracks me up and makes me smile in every video. That being said, after ruining so many sheets of vellum and tracing papers over the years using hit-and-miss methods for printing, I just gave up trying to use it at all. Thank you and all of your followers that offered additional tips below. Stay safe out there and have a blessed weekend!
Awww Mary, you're lovely... Thank you for all of your positive energy and creative friendship 💜💜🌿
A helpful way to position and glue the vellum to the white copy paper is to go ahead and get it lined up perfectly and paper clip them together in the center of the long sides. Carefully lift one end of the vellum and apply the glue to that entire end of paper, then just let it carefully lay back down where it was pre-positioned. Then do the other side. The clips should then be removed for the printing process. I find that this is an easier way to align both layers. Thank you for your helpful video!
That's a fantastic tip!!🌹👍
SO GLAD I FOUND THIS! This is the most in depth, clear, and easy to follow tutorial I have found. Thank you!
Fantastic!! Welcome to my channel Shinelle! Great to meet you!💜🤓👍
You are an absolute hero! As soon as my lovely vellum arrived I made the rookie mistake of offering vellum prints as a trade thinking “oh you just stick the paper in the printer” 😂 what a fool! You are an absolute hero & your tips worked beautifully!
Splendid!!👍💜
You saved my life!! Thank you so much! I printed my wedding invitations like this!
Wonderful. I particularly love the transparency of vellum for these images. It really takes the old world look and beautiful colours of the images up several notches. Thanks for sharing!
Joie I'd never thought of printing on vellum paper & was so looking forward to this video. I love how you used it over book pages & can see text thru! Thank you so much for this, & looking forward to the upcoming tri-fold vid. 🌺💖
Fantastic! I've filmed making the Trifold so that will be out soon!! 👍😁💜
You actually can print successfully on tissue or tracing paper by gluing them to a piece of copy paper. I do this regularly with my inexpensive laser printer.
Wow, what great results! I'm absolutely inspired...thanks Joie!
Fantastic!!🥰👍💜
Thank you so much for going over this in such detail, and showing your tips for successful printing!
You're very welcome!!💜😁
Thank you for this wonderful turtorial . I've never been successful printing on vellum - now I can wait to begin my next project. You explained the process in a way that I could follow and understand. Thanks again.
Wonderful video! I love your teaching style. I actually found a large stash of printing papers in a closet and vellum was in it. Thank you so much for the info and inspiration!!
Hooray! Lovely to hear about that Sue, it's great to use up our stash!! 👍🥰💜
Since I do it your way and cut off the small overlapping rim of the vellum before putting it into my printer it works! Thanks a lot for your tutorial, and greetings from Hamburg/Germany.
That is fantastic Hannah, I'm so pleased!!! Well done!😁👍💜
This was such a helpful video. Taking us through, step-by-step and having printed directions was great. Thank you so much for sharing your technique.
You're very welcome
Excellent tips! Beautiful results!
Thank you for sharing your hits & misses with us ....
You could say the only way is up after this!! I'm going to try a thicker vellum next. 👍👍🥰
Thank you for this video!🎉 very detailed!
So very helpful, Joie. Thank you, I'm going to try this.
Thanks so much for this video! Definitely going to give this a go! Looks so beautiful!💕💕💕
Fantastic!!💜😁
Thank you, it's always so helpful to see the process step by step. It makes me more comfortable to try something new.
I know what you mean 🥰🥰👍
I have been hesitant to print on vellum but now I am little more at ease. Great tutorial!
Thanks! You're a life saver!
That changes everything! Thank you so much for this video. I tried it right away and it worked perfectly! 🥳
Fantastic!! Awesome feedback, have fun Petra!!🥰🌿👍
Thanks so much for showing. Great teaching. Looking forward to seeing more. I've heard of printing on vellum but wasn't sure of the best way to do it. I'm excited to learn new things. Hugs 🤗🧡🔵
Hugs to you too!! I'm also learning as we go... Take care from a very windy and wet England!👍😁💜
Outstanding instructions, as per usual. Thank you Joie. 💗🌷💗
Awww, thanks!!🌹
Thank you for presenting the tutorial for printing on vellum. I've had vellum in my cabinet for ages and have not had the courage to print on it! I'll give it a try.
Definitely time to have a go!!👍💜😁
As always Joie, you have inspired me to do some printing on vellum. Thanks for all the great tips!
You're very welcome Betty!! 👍😁💜
Loved this, Joie. You are so clear and measured, it's so easy to follow. I have printed on vellum before but the page always curled up into a roll as it came out of the printer - will try sticking it to paper, following your advice.
Mine was quite thin and it worked using the glue. I'm also going to have a go with some thicker vellum, see how that differs. Thanks very much for your feedback, super helpful!!!!🥰🌿👍
Great tips Joie. I’ve never tried printing on vellum, I think I’ll give it a try. Thanks for sharing.💕
Fantastic!!🌿👍😁💜
Hi Joie! Great tutorial as usual. One thing I have discovered is that there are different vellums for inkjet & laser printers & you absolutely can’t use any vellum in the laser printer that’s not rated for laser or it will melt & damage the printer! Just wanted to share that for everyone
What a great tip!! Thanks Jennifer, excellent knowledge!!👍💜🥰
I print on vellum normally with my laser printer, I guess it depends on the type of printer, thank god it worked for me other wise that would be a huge loss for me 😅😅
Amazing dear as always 😍 I wish to know any tip for gluing vellum without crinkling 🥲 I tried strong glue stick it worked but don’t know for how long it will stay,
I always print Vellum with my laser printer with no problems.
This works fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing. 🤗
Thanks very much Patsy!!💜🥰🌿
Gorgeous job! Saving this for when I finally decide to try printing vellum on my own. 🥰
Fantastic
Thanks for sharing these vellum printing tips. Really enjoyed it.
Fantastic!!
Thanks! Great tips! I read several comments with good ideas, too. Learned a lot here. Amazing you replied to every comment. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I do my best to respond to everyone; so thanks Mara, lovely to meet you!!!🤓👍💜

Exactly, great when we all share what we know. Thanks Debbie!!💜
This was extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing all your expertise
You're very welcome
I tried your printing method today. What a difference adhering the vellum to another sheet makes. My sheet ended up straight and crisp. No curls! 👍🏻😃 Thanks!
That's fantastic!! Nice one, and thanks so much for letting me know!😄🌹👍
Joie these are amazing I love , love , love them and hope I can get brade enough to try this !!Kathy a journal friend indeed !!!
I'm sure that you can do it Kathy!!💜
What an awesome way to use vellum!

Great tips Joie! I learned the hard way how to print on vellum also! But it is fun!
It definitely is... I think I will keep practising 🥰👍💜
Great tips, thank you for sharing, I’ll give this a go x
Fantastic!👍😁💜
Oh my, this video couldn't have come at a more appropriate time, Joie! I just bought ArtyMaze's cluster making kit and it is rich with vellum printing possibilities! I had a go with printing some vellum tonight and it didn't go well at all! Your tip for gluing the vellum to a piece of copy paper is going to be the cat's pajamas for my printing tomorrow! Thank you so much! And go check out Andrea's latest video and kit. You'll love it!❤
I will, it's definitely on my watch list!!🥰💜👍
Thank you for the tips, Joie! I just bought the Epson 4000 and will at some point give it a go like this. I will save this in my favorites. Thanks for all you do! :)
That's fabulous!! Thanks very much ❤️
Hello Joie, thank you so much for these tips on printing on vellum. I had bought some vellum from Amazon a while ago but never used it as of yet. I will definitely try this now.
Fantastic!!🥰👍
Hi, Joie, your videos are awesome. You have helped me so much to venture out of my extremely small creative square ⬛️ 🙃 😊 hope things are improving for you.
I'm working on it ❤️❤️
Thank you soooo much for this "how to"!!!❤
You're very welcome!!!🌿🥰👍
I love the idea of printing on vellum paper and was searching for a video on this matter and lucky I found yours...I think they came out perfect as junk journals are made of scraps, fussy cuts, etc love the images on the prints, just awesome & gorgeous... my greetings to you from Guatemala 🌸🌸🌸🌸👍🏼
Welcome Lily, wow, Guatemala!!!👍🥰💜🌿
I always wanted to print on velium and now I will give it a go. Tfs
Splendid!! I'm printing some other images on vellum at the moment so will probably share more projects which use them!!

Thanks for sharing. I have that same printer so will try Velum now!!
Excellent!! Then I used it in a Trifold, just shared a video on that too!👍🥰💜
These are beautiful, thank you
You're very welcome!💜
Just printed off some images on vellum, thank you for sharing your tips
You're very welcome!!👍💜😁
Hi Joie, I LOVE YOU 💕😘❤️ I have the exact same printer as you have and have been trying to print on vellum for a long time. No luck Until your video and oh my goodness, I have printed so many pages today that look absolutely gorgeous! I actually had the page that you were using in your sample from Victoria design. You are right, it comes out totally gorgeous.Thank you so much! Love love love this tutorial
It absolutely does doesn't it Donna!! Those images!! So pleased that you enjoyed this!🥰👍💜💜
Hi Joie! I know it's a year later but I still had to comment. I recently wanted to print on vellum so bought some (Amazon) and the first thing I did when it came was to look for a video and was thrilled to see yours! Needless to say, your organized, calm way of teaching was so helpful when I started to panic a little. So, thank you so much for putting this out - it's been very helpful to me! 💗
Do you have a link for the vellum paper you bought from Amazon? I can’t find the link joie used in this video. Thanks!
Thank you Joie. I love to use vellum. I have a lazer printer, so far I have only had to cut it down to letter size, and I just run it through as is, I have not had to secure to another paper. But that is just my printer. Thank you for all the great ideas.
Great feedback, thanks so much for sharing!!👍💜😁
Thank you for sharing your tips 😊
You're very welcome Elsa 🥰💜
Lovely! Thank you.
You're very welcome!👍💞
I keep forgetting that I have vellum 🙈. I love my Epson, it's a workforce and lives up to it's name! My vellum must be thick as it feeds easily on its own, it's definitely a printable one so maybe that's helping. LOVE the sound of vellum tearing! So cool 😎😁. Tfs and have a great weekend 💖💖
Ooooh yes, that sound 💞🤣🤣
Lovely printing
Thanks very much Phyllis!!👍😁💜
Great tips. Our eco tank is a top loader and won't feed vellum or fabric no matter how careful. Our old H p would accept fabric, heat proof acetate anything really. X Catherine 🌼🌻
So many different types of printer. Sounds like you've had a good try Catherine 👍😁💜
This is absolutely stunning! I'll give it a go at some stage. Thank you so much for sharing!🤗💖
(Just followed you on Instagram)
Ooooh fantastic Lily, thanks, great to meet you!!💜👍😄
Excellent tutorial Joie 🕉️✌️🐞
Thanks very much!!❤️
Thank you so much for this tutorial !! I finally did it successfully! 🥳
Hooray!!! Well done, great to hear that!!😄👍💜
@@joiedefi instead of glue stick I used a tape runner (one that isn’t super sticky). Worked perfectly 🥳
I like that idea too!!👍😄💜
I’ve used the hobby lobby store brand of tracing paper. It’s good to not smear the ink or anything. They’re 9x12 but I tear them down to 8.5x11. They print up great without need to be taped to paper and are great. If you spray them with a semi gloss they become super translucent like glassine. Great video! Thank you so much for sharing so many awesome things.
...and thanks for such helpful tips!! Really appreciate it!🌿👍😁💜
That's so beautiful to print your vellem. I used to make cards with vellum and now I also use it to print pictures. And that has a beautiful shine. I think mine is a little thicker. My cover of the suit I don't have anymore so I can't tell you the thickness of the vellem I use. I can put it through the printer in no time. Thank you so much for your explanation Joie. And the page you made is beautyful.
Thanks so much, I think thicker would be better!👍😁💜🌿
Sorry I’m late to the party Joie 💖💞love love love vellum!! Great video as usual 🌹
Thanks so much Antonio.... Yes indeed, so many possibilities!😄💜
Your a great artist, you could make a lot of money
Hello 🙂 thank you for making this video it was very helpful for me 💗
You're very welcome Debs!🥰
I use copy paper as a backing to my vellum also as it helps take it through the printer. I love the effect of printed vellum. 😊
Me too!!!! Where have I been all my life without vellum!!
Great tips thanks for showing us. Double sided tape sticks the velum well to book pages etc. xxx
That's a great tip!🥰👍
Awesome
Thanks very much!!👍😁💜
Very detailed & excellent video - thanks - I bought an epson tankless printer & I love it & you used an epson printer , so thanks ..
Perfect, thanks so much for your lovely comment!!! Great to know that it helped!!😄👍💜
Super clearly demonstrated, Joie. I enjoyed learning the ins and outs, Hugs, CarolMartineArt
Hey it's Carol!! I'm definitely still learning..... lovely to see you!💜💜💜🌹
Thank you, Joie! I’m anxious to give this a try and found the image set on sale at Vectoria Designs, also!
Fantastic!!🥰👍🌹
Thank you Joie for directing me to this video and for your advice on your printer. I bought my Epson Eco Tank printer today and now I'm working on having a go at printing on vellum...have to say I'm a bit nervous 😁
I've not had many fails, I think you've bought a good brand so you should be fine. Anyway, it's good to try new things 😁👍 enjoy, hope to see you soon!! 💜🌿
Been thinking of playing with vellum. These are gorgeous. I have art vellum and will try this method. I've printed successfully on other materials like muslin and heavy tissue (well, maybe the tissue wasn't so successful). And I made "vellum" paper with napkins and decoupage; but, this that, you are limited to the napkin designs. Especially appreciate the trouble shooting tips.
Don't know if your in the path of the storm, but stay safe.
Definitely in the storm area!! Thanks Jewel, it's great to experiment with new ways is using these things!!💜💜💜
Thank you for the tips and lovely ideas. Working with vellum is always tricky; I use double sided repositionable tape to adhere vellum to printer paper to run through my printer. I adore the look of the printed vellum on book pages. Looking so forward to the tutorial on your tri folds.😊
Aaah, great tips Linda. I've filmed and edited the trifold video, I'm actually really excited about that one. It's one of those projects that's not too big and you get a substantial and personally satisfying result quite quickly....💜👍
Thanks for the process video on using vellum and printing on it. I am going to try it out and see how it works for me. We have a laser printer.
Sounds great Pammi. Lots of possibilities I think. 👍😁❤️
I have an epson et2760. I love this printer. It's the best and I print on vellum very easily by doing exactly what you do. So much fun. I want to make the tri fold like yours of the little botanical you got from Victoria designs. So beautiful. Ok so I'm going to begin again with journals since I quit about 18 months ago to start watercolor. Thank you joie
You're very welcome. The trifold tutorial video is now out on my channel whenever you want that one 😄👍🥰
@@joiedefi I’m just seeing this. I read that the ET 2760 could not print on vellum. So thrilled to hear that it can using this technique. Now if I could only print on a transparency.
When I found the printable vellum, I decided to just feed the vellum in without a carrier sheet and it worked! One time I had wrinkling and a few smears due to not waiting for it to be dry but I've not glued or taped it to anything before printing. It could also be a printer setting that could help. Printers change the way the ink comes out based on the paper setting. Since I don't have photo paper, I print many images on the matte greeting card setting which gives me a good solid image. It's not perfect and it's an old printer but it'll do. Thanks for the tips and I'm looking forward to making some of the tri-folds.
I'm learning too so that is super helpful!! 🥰💜👍
Hello Joie de fi! I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I've printed on vellum before, but I used tape and a piece of copy paper.
That sounds like a good approach, thanks so much Trish, and welcome to my channel, welcome to this happy family!!🌹💜🥰
Hello mrs joie thanks for the ideas,i Always enjoy your pockets and your junk journal s,i liked thé pocket in this vidéo ,will u make à tutorial about it??i liked it
Yes, I'll have a go at sharing all the makes in this video.... I've started by filming the Trifold.... Have a lovely Sunday!!😁💜💜💜
Girl, you are ssooo good! I've printed on velum before (and velum-like papers) using tape, never even thought to use a glue stick. Makes me wanna go print s'more velum - in fact, now that I think about it, what I'd done before was subtle all-over prints and copies of a master board, not any real stand-alone images, so yeah, I'd better forego the vacuuming and the laundry and get busy with some velum!
Whew! 😯 That was close, 😬 almost had to do, you know, STUFF today! 😧 Thanks m'girlfriend! 😊
I think I'm maybe fumbling my way to you over on Insta... haven't checked in a couple days.
Love you sweetheart, Emms ❤ 😁 🏜
Best avoided that housework thing...it can bring on something quite nasty. That's what I say anyway EMS!!🤣🤣🥰🥰👍💜💜
@@joiedefi ...see? The more we hang out the more brilliant you prove yourself to be.
I bought a Claire Fontaine goldline heavyweight A4 tracing pad from Amazon 112 gsm. It is pretty similar to the vellum you showed. I just used it in my printer as it came, I did not adhere it to anything, much easier. You have to leave it to dry for quite a while. 50 sheets for about a tenner. I use an HP envy printer, it takes cloth as well.
I'm going to find that one Lucy, sounds fabulous!🥰
Thanks
👍😁💜
I wanted to say a special thank you to you Linda, I really appreciate your support! 💖💖💖
Hello. I have found using a laser printer worked the best for me. I have a Cannon and I use the lightweight setting and it pops them out with no trouble. I use a lot of vellum in my projects.
That's extremely useful, thanks so much Donna, really appreciate your sharing!!👍🥰💜💜
Hello. Lovely printings. If the glue stick is water based, I believe you could have wet the paper a little bit, to be able to separate the vellum without ripping it. Just an idea 💡, to be tested... Love your videos always so explanatory! XX
Oooh such a great tip!!!!! 👍🥰💜🌿
Just printed on vellum for the first time. But, I printed an Emily Dickenson poem, Hope is the Thing With Feathers, to layer over a bird image. I only stitched the top so it could be lifted. Finished it off with a feather charm. So good to know I have these tutorials for reference.
That sounds beautiful
WOW--what a great idea~~~I love that poem!
Thanks so much for the glue stick trick. Would you please post your printer settings? Such as dip, paper type, matte or gloss.
Such a great tutorial! What printer settings did you use? Photo paper? Plain paper? Then normal draft or best?
