I just wrote and uploaded a short Halloween-themed composition that would not have been half as powerful without Ark 3 - I´m sooo glad I bought this library!
Best in the industry far! Sounds absolutely sick!! Btw I like that you guys have started doing "revives" now, instead of making a complete new pack 3 years later like many many other virtual orchestra companies. By starting over we just get the same thing over and over with different rooms and recordings, but you guys update the instruments and add on to the ones new technology is at hand. Imagine many years from now if you were to follow the same concept, the varieties of the packs would surpass every single thing on the market concerning variety and dynamics at ones fingertips, and all the other moneygrabbers out there just start over all the time, haha! XD Keep doing what you are doing!
I like this a lot but I’m waiting for a sampling company to make a orchestral library that sounds as realistic as this and able to perform as great as this with all individual instruments in each category instead of fixed ensembles, I believe one day it’ll happen.
the repetitions should be a new standard way of recording. That whole section of the video is ridiculously realistic. I would love to see OT record other styles of repetitions like smoother legato rebowings
Is there any way to know how many gigs the individual instruments are? I'd like to buy some patches from this library but I don't see any info on the space needed for the separate instrument purchases.
Make a version without all the mic options. 60 GB is too big, we have reverbs and convolution. This library is just too big. Also I do not see cymbals and chimes.
Stupid question, sorry. Are you able to pick one specific instrument aswell? I mean, instead of it's the whole brass section, can I then just pick the french horns as an example?
From my experience with Metropolis Ark 1, then no you will not. You will have more general ensembles to work with (high strings, low woodwinds, brass section, etc.) If you'd like to work more with individual instruments then the Berlin Series might be more what you're looking for, although it is rather pricey.
Depends on what you want to do, I suppose. If you're just starting, and looking for an all-in-one kind of package, the BO Inspire package would probably be a good starting point. From there they get more purpose-built. The Metropolis Ark series is meant to make BIG music, with each one sort of complementing the others. In Ark 1, for example, you might not get individual instrument control, and have to work in sections, but there's a pretty large amount of articulations for those sections, so you're very flexible in HOW you can get those sections to play, e.g. there are 16 different articulations in the high strings alone. Personally, I felt Ark 1 lacked a bit in the percussion area, also there are no high woodwinds in Ark 1, hence why I got Ark 3, to help fill those gaps. While I personally don't own them, the four main libraries in the Berlin Series (Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion) look like they'll give you much more control over each section, but cost must also be considered, considering all four of those main libraries, without extensions, would be around $3000. While I'm far from an expert, I feel that a strong library-building strategy to have is to start with a basic library, use it EXTENSIVELY, push it to its limits, then you'll easily identify the gaps you'd like to fill, and find a library that fits that need. Rinse and repeat. When researching, keep looking up these videos where they walk through each and every patch, so you know exactly what you're getting. I'd be remiss in mentioning that there are, of course, competitors, but I feel it would be rude and in bad form to mention them by name on the official page of the sample producers of which I'm a rather loyal customer. Some quick googling should point you in the right direction. Getting more information about what's on the market is never a bad thing, especially when high-dollar purchases are involved.
Thanks a lot man! I really appreciate it! I thought of buying metropolis ark 3 because it's one of the cheaper ones and I love the sound. But I don't know, I've never got an orchestral plugin like metropolis. I have seen the walkthroughs of all metropolis series and I'm impressed! Do you think that if I just buy metropolis ark 3, It would do a good job alone? I was thinking of it, cuz like I said, It's one of the cheaper ones and i'm a fan of metropolis even though I never used it, I've only seen a TON of videos about it, and I really think about getting it. Again, do you think it would be a good start for me using metropolis ark 3? I'm really new to this, but I really need a plugin like this. Thanks man!
Unless you're writing highly percussive orchestrations exclusively, then MA3 might not be the best starting point. Based on what you've said so far, i.e. you're interested in more control over individual instruments, also being fairly new to using sample libraries, as far as OT's offerings I would probably recommend Berlin Orchestra Inspire. Its regular price is the same price as MA3's current promotional price, you get €150 (about $180) in coupons for future purchases, and it's more general purpose. Don't forget you're also going to need Kontakt (there's a free version that works with *most* OT libraries) as well as a DAW like Cubase, and/or notation software like Finale, as well, to get full use out of it. I tried using Sibelius, but I never seemed to be able to get Kontakt to interface with it, and could find no clear answer on how to get it to work, while I was able to everything up and running with Finale in under half an hour, despite not having used Finale since college, which was about 20 years ago. Again, I'm no expert, I've only started composing seriously this year, and I'm learning something new every single day as far as software and hardware are concerned. All my previous experience has been on the other side of the baton as an actor/singer. I'm just passing on what I've learned in the past several months.
If u have other orchestral libraries that have sustains then Ark 3 would fit right in. I purchased Metropolis ark 3 in pre-order, and damn do I not regret it. It sounds amazing! The orchestral sounds are phenomenal! I don't even have the previous Arks but thought this was going to be great with my other orchestral sample libraries. i just used this library, with my Spitfire libraries on piece I wrote for Spitfire trailer competition, which is on my you tube page. You can hear the loud brass n orchestra from this library with my spitfire orchestral libraries. Metropolis ark 3 is really impressive.
Thanks man. Yeah I ended up buying it too and you're right it does fit pretty well with other libraries. I found a glitch that they didn't know about the first night I had it lol, I emailed them and they are fixing it, in the staccato arctic patch there was a long wind note that would play every 4th repetition or so on middle C. But yeah I'm not disappointed with it, I already started an action/adventure song with it and it sounds wonderful, I would love to get their other ones too but it's too expensive, maybe on a sale someday.
I am totally upset. I bought one month ago MA1 for the regular price of 650 EURO. And now i got the info that you offer MA1 and MA2 for just 500 EURO!!! What a big mess and loss for me! I spent so much money for just one library!!! This is not fair!!!
Send them a message about it. The same happened to me so I sent them a message, and I at least was very happy with their reply. Probably the best customer service I've ever had.
@@EsaValkama I did already. Problem is i missed the graceperiode by only one month. The graceperiode was set by them till 31th of October. So i did not get a voucher from them. :-(

All the people on my channel are gonna lose their shit if they see this, just like I did now. Masterpiece.
ZAMN SHE'S 12?
Okay Orchestral Tools, it's time to make an unbeatable choir library!
Ive never seen anything like this, incredible recording and scripting!
I just wrote and uploaded a short Halloween-themed composition that would not have been half as powerful without Ark 3 - I´m sooo glad I bought this library!
I think this might be the most realistic sounding library Ive ever heard!
This library always makes me think of "The Whomping Willow and the Snowball Fight" from the soundtrack of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Omg, I'm just 1 minute in and have a huge smile on my face
10:08 you cheeky bastards ;)
I love the Capsule interface and the fact that Orchestral Tools continues to use Teldex and focuses on making their libraries work together.
Congratulations! This is amazing! Very impressive.
Amazing, thank you so much
You guys actually made another one. I am so happy.

Thank you Santa. I made sure this will be in my stocking.
We bought Ark1 right after hearing it at your booth at NAMM; Ark3 would be definitely a nice add-on!
Really cool Idea for a library!
its so amazing
Sounds amazing. Wish those plastic tubes had been sampled chromatically!
EPIC!
I don’t know what to say...
I’m shocked.
Sold!

where is this Multi? tried to do it from scratch, but can't find some patches, trying to find Taiko Hits can"t find it, also the Percussion Hits.....
Cool library... But where are the wind chimes, aggressive cymbal/gong rolls, & cymbal brush strikes?
Metalpazallteway in Berlin Series Percussion
It's amazing. Good job OT. Do I need to have Ark 1 & 2 or The Ark 3 is independent?
Independant
I don’t know what to say. I’m baffled
Absolutely Fantastc. Good work :)
OH YES.

Hi there, if you get in touch with our support team (support@orchestraltools.com) I'm sure they could help provide some information.

Wow.
You said it...
Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Bartok!
I think this library is more aggresive than the other library.
NO ...it's a dreammmmmmmmmmmmm....don't awake me....please....

I bought this program 2 days ago. And no damn instrument is on click programmed. Is there an option for it?
You can lock to host tempo
When in SINE ?
I was just about to buy this buy noticed it doesn't have sustains! What a shame, sounds good though

95TurboSol also take into account that Arks 1 & 2 already have a ton of sustained and legato sections.
Do I hear a Star Wars theme.
wtf fucking yeah
