I’ve had each of these volumes since their release. It’s nice to have a refresher considering how much content is available. Great job on the presentation!
It must have taken considerable effort to produce an overview of products this broad that still feels focused on important distinctions. All that and a quality John Morris tribute! Excellent and helpful video, thank you.
Honestly a nice little walkthrough and overview of what these collections do, and especially useful since the recent addition of Ark 5 and the whole collection being one big bundle now. Especially in regards as to what "sound" each one is aimed at in a straightforward fashion. Which was especially useful for me because outside of Ark 2, I didn't see a reason to invest into the entire collection. After all, I don't want to copy John Williams or be LOUD with my stuff.
Great demo, enjoyed the mini tracks, though I think the 'full' demo tracks and discussion about the libraries could have been better at the start of the video!
@@CoryPelizzari no rush of course! Just if you end up purchasing any at some point it would be interesting to compare whatever one you get with similar libraries you already own
Interesting you don't like the Ark 1 drumkit - this demo made me instantly impressed with it (the choirs and pianos also) - I already own Berlin Brass, Woodwinds and Glory Days and wanted a drumkit in the same room, but I can appreciate the lack of sampling depth. What kit library would you recommend instead for that scoring stage kind of sound? As ever, all the micro-compositions you've done here show an immense amount of work and talent. The Ark 2 organ and piano moments were especially wonderful. Thank you for making these demonstrations. I hope you had fun playing with all the instruments!
hi, does anyone know how to make the velicity depend on the speed of pressing a key on the midi keyboard, and not (or not only on) the position of the modulation wheel? Sorry for my Eng, not a native speaker)
Hello! I have a question. How did you specify the track color in Studio One? My Studio One doesn't come with color like you do. Did you download the file separately?
Go into Studio One options and go to "advanced" and under the "editing" tab check "colourise track controls". Then you can click on the little rectangle on the left of each track and it'll bring up a colour picker.
Hey Cory hope you’re well. I was thinking of buying the strings High and low as separates for mockups as I don’t have any string ensemble patches do think this is a wise choice considering the pair are just over £$€ 100 or do you have another in mind ? I took your advice and bought the Cinematic studio winds ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The high and low strings are good and you'll get your money's worth. Not exactly a bargain, but they'll work well for shorts and legatos if you just want some strings without committing to a whole string collection.
Practice scales musically and use a lot of Major 7ths and Minor 7th add 9 chords. Play the scales for one note, then start transposing down a note until you learn how to comfortably play the scales and chords for each root note. Then alternate between the majors and minors for different root notes.
@@snarf1504 I'm just free playing what comes to mind, but I tend to lean towards major 7ths and minor 7th add 9 chords, so I tend to play arpeggios in those scales moving up and down freely and switching between root notes, like C minor 7th add 9 down to G# major 7th, then F minor 7th add 9 to G major with minor 7th add 9 etc. It's a style I feel comfortable with. I feel I'm going to have to make a video on this at some point...
I am planning on using the close mic and using my own reverb settings, thank you so much for the answer!! I am also upgrading so I should just get this beast of a library
@@simplesa3d434I highly recommend using the main tree mic if that's the case, you won't get really good results with the close mics only unless you are going for the uncanny OG demon souls sound
I'm curious why you ignored the entire "District 1 - Beating Orchestra" part of Metropolis Ark 3. That seems far more interesting and unique to me when compared to the simple staccatissimo articulations you focused on for the non-percussion stuff. There's a lot more interesting stuff to be heard in that "district" imo.
I only wanted to focus on the basics for each library, otherwise the video would be 2 hours long. Plus the repetitions drift rather than keep in sync with the tempo so they weren't a worthy highlight.
I always think ark 2 sounds the best when mimicking the style of Batman Arkham series, OT pretty much did that for the trailer demo and it instantly sounded like it could be from that series. I honestly don’t think it sounds good making actual withdrawn style quietesqe music. It sounds better epic but at the same time deep. I really hate it when people say ark 2 is quiet cause it just isn’t. It’s literally in the title: Orchestra of the DEEP.
@@toddfrombethesda6963 A lot of the content is basically OT's take on the techniques and sound in Tundra... or was it the other way around? With split sections and legatos of course
I'm trying to come up with something that will be helpful and entertaining when it comes to chords, but right now I'm actually focusing on putting together a huge midi pack with chords, arpeggios and rhythms...

great demo. these products are expensive, so it is helpful to hear extensive and methodical demonstrations like this.
I’m certainly going to buy one of these one of these days but for now I’m here for the demos! You’re so good!
