LeCoolFace Those really aren't iconic though, everyone can hum the gamecube or PS1 startup, but ask people about those and they are like "Oh, yeah, that exists."
For those wondering about BS-X: That's the BIOS cart for Nintendo's Satellaview (only released in Japan). Basically, through this cart, you could download games through a satellite service. The little guys at 0:48 are Parabo and Satebo (the Satellaview mascots). They should have been in Smash Bros..
Okay, the Famicom seriously has such a cool opening and the echo makes it sound like you're about to have a damn good time with your game. Really is a shame overseas, or at least America, didn't get even a fraction of the cool exclusive content Japan got with consoles, video games and add-ons.

It's always interesting to see how Nintendo never made home console startup screens for the cartridge counterparts, but only for the disk ones. Most Western regions would never see one until the Gamecube, otherwise all they had were the handheld systems which always had one. Some N64 games had a "start up" of the N64 logo, but that wasn't by default, they had to be coded in.
Justforvisit that's not the consoles startup... that's the GAME'S startup, that was in the cartridge, If someone would make their own game for the SNES, that needed to be coded just like title screens etc... if you started the console without a game, i wouldn't show that.
I never had a DSi or a DS or whatever growing up because I was born in 2009 so the only console I had was a Wii and I just played Babysitting Mama on there because that was the only game I was good at.
As someone being half British half Thai I feel positive when hearing it as Thailand and Japan are quite similar in terms of their technology and for some reason that gives me positive vibes
You forgot the secret game cube start up where you hold a and b on controllers 1 &4, and switch the memory slot from a to b.It sounds fdake, but his one is ACTUALLY real and possible.
The NES and FAMILYCOM had the same strartup just it said please insert game pack then it would do the same thing as the FAMILYCOM with the now loading screen and make the same beep sound.
Huh. I don't remember the N64 startup screen... but I do know (now) that the Gamecube home menu theme is just the Famicom startup theme slowed down like 16 or 17 times
I remember when the DS made that sound when it was your birthday :')
+Andy Fennell 4:32
+Armando Vázquez I don't think I ever played my ds on my birthday, but I did on the wii
+Armando Vázquez One time I heard that sound and it freaked me out lol!
+Armando Vázquez every time it happened I thought that the speakers were messed up
i remember lol :D i got all happy lol
Sometime along the way the console manufacturers truly forgot how to make a memorable and iconic startup, it's something we really need to work on.
LeCoolFace Those really aren't iconic though, everyone can hum the gamecube or PS1 startup, but ask people about those and they are like "Oh, yeah, that exists."
+Mister Guillotine PS3 startup sound is amazing, but I agree that overall it's been lacking in the 7th and 8th gen startup sounds.
Nintendo 3Ds has an startup? Mine just go directly to the menu...
Mukagas the Startup appears when you play a 3DS Game
Japan still gets them.
The Virtual Boy startup looks like it came straight out of a horror game.
yeah
Pinguino del Rio I aggree
Yep it’s creepy then slender man
It is like that because the emulator is broken guys
Lol
I remember the first time I heard the birthday noise on the DS lite and it scared the crap out of me, I thought my DS was possessed....
hahaha! me too, and to think that happened 9 years ago... Time flies
DERDUHDE WAAAA

Hmmm.. I wonder if thats what the NX could be like but instead through the internet.
If NX were Satellaview 2 I would line up for that in a heartbeat.
Monita if it had the same menu sign me up!
How do you know that about the BS-X
The fliying tv and the claok boy
gamecube and gameboy will always be my favourite ones
Yes
+Nintendo GameCube Your Main Menu music RULES!
+Nintendo GameCube best startup to a console I have seen ever
+Nintendo GameCube and your controller can cure cancer
+Nintendo GameCube I'm sensing a bias...
I may be young but I love old things!!!
Wow, the great screen openings just suddenly faded away...
1:37 little did we know that this would become a huge meme.
Holy crap, it's really been 10 years since the Wii was released!

Wow, never knew about the alternate gamecube startups.
The Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advanced, DS and 3DS startups are so nostalgic to me.
Gameboy color and 3ds for me
Everybody seems to have forgotten the Super Nintendo Startup Screen? That cute little "PLING"? :D
Wasn't that the gameboy startup?
Dunno, I pretty much still remember that SNES "PLING" when I've started The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana....
Justforvisit that's not the consoles startup... that's the GAME'S startup, that was in the cartridge, If someone would make their own game for the SNES, that needed to be coded just like title screens etc... if you started the console without a game, i wouldn't show that.
Oh well ok that might be the reason. But pretty much every cartridge had it as far as I recall it ^^
If I'm not wrong, nintendo wouldn't licence the game without it
Ahhhhh I remember when the original Wii came out................ Happy days
same and dsi
I never had a DSi or a DS or whatever growing up because I was born in 2009 so the only console I had was a Wii and I just played Babysitting Mama on there because that was the only game I was good at.
The Wii U GamePad has its own startup too.
It does?
Awesome Job :)
4:01 And I thought I was the only one who knew about that!
What is it?
The sattelaview (bs-x) intro is awesome
its to long
As someone being half British half Thai I feel positive when hearing it as Thailand and Japan are quite similar in terms of their technology and for some reason that gives me positive vibes
I like the BS Satellaview one- that one was perfect if Nintendo actually did make a CD add-on for the SNES.
True. Only if they didn't turned there backs on Sony
i never seen some of these and there pretty awesome
Got so much nostalgia when I heard the Gameboy Advanced SP.
I'm crying from all the Nintendo start ups cause Nintendo had created my favorite game of all time...splatoon.....God bless nintendo...
Great video you just needed the dsi menu
The Famicom sounds like a Zelda II soundtrack when turned on, and sounds like a Pac-Mania sound effect when loaded.
0:26 Nintendo Satellaview/Nintendo BS-X (1995-1998)
Nintendo Satellaview is creepy and epic!
Creepic
Creepy? How?
Creppy? i'm scared too XD
wow the BS-X music is beatiful
nice, calm SFC soundchip at its work.
Question: How does 1 hold down 4 Z buttons in order ta get the last BootUp Easter Egg fer the GameCube? Or does the Easter Egg require 4 players?
it requires 4 players
Is called satelagiew
To PenguinGaming and Whinpful,
That was the boot up for the Nintendo 64DD, which was only sold in japan.
the wii looks old and futuristic in the same time
the famicom music (the first theme) is also the gamecube theme if you speed it up
You maybe know it from Nicobbq
gotta love dem der bs-x satellaview startup music..
90s baby always and forever
bom video :)
The virtual boy one's just really fitting.
Game Boy Advance has a special place in my heart
1:10 didnt they use that sound in Mario Cart later?
Finally a 3ds with the proper one
Virtual boy's one is just Mario Golf for VB startup but someone pitched it down
i'm surprised.. nintendo don't have intros so memorable like the PS1 or Capcom games
Gamecube nuff said
yep I think so
Nah gamecube does have a good one
Game Boy Advanced :P
Their handheld, Famicom Disc System, and NGC ones are just as memorable if not more than the PS1
Bs-x is not a console, it's just the launch title of the sattelaview add on for super famicom (japanese snes)
Rip mii verse, u will always be remembered. );
Man what were they thinking with the Wii startup? A freaking warning message?
I see you inserting Animal Crossing into your Wii. Can't hide nothing from eagle-eyes Arioch Starr xD

0:00 My Favorite startup
What's with that first Game Boy Advance startup and where did it come from??
Thank you lol
3:56 Gameboy Advance SP/Original (UK Version)
The Wii warning screen is the best startup
The SNES one has pretty calm music
now the Wii u has a start sound but only in the game pad
400th sub
2:18 homebrew channel huh?
I think you have to mod your Wii to unlock that channel
I remembered this
the broad cast satilite X's art style makes me feel like its a long lost Earth bound game or something XD
Me to.
Same
Same
How did you get that sound on the GBA where it plays a jingle then the original game boy sound?
I like the WiiU miiverse. To see all the Miis.
I love N64, Wii U, Gamecube, Wii, Game Boy, GBA and GBASP
Plus all of them except Virtual Boy
Why was the BS-X Only released in japan? It was so fun back then. And Why was it discontinued? Heck, Maybe the satellite is still in space somewhere.
to most ppl yes the n64 did have a startup just need the disk drive that was a fail
Family Computer means Famicom (for all the people)
What about the Wii warning screen after the update?
The Virtual Boy intro is fucking scary.
oh my god, that gameboy advance one
I wish the wii kept its old account selector menu
3:56 to 4:00 Never heard the Gameboy Advance like that before, where'd you found that sound?

Because it was released in 2017 and this is from 2013
oml the old WiiU layout
That was before Friend List and Download Management! And Nintendo TVii was up! NOSTALGIA OF 3 YEARS AGOOOOO
NES Startup is Just 15x Faster than the Nintendo GameCube Theme Music
I don't remember having that startup in N64... do you need to remove the cartridge? I always turned it on with the cartridge.
Oh well thanks c:
Wait a minute the Wii U came out in 2012
At 1:11, Nintendo did not make the Sufami Turbo, Bandai created the Sufami Turbo
Wii U is My Favorite
