If your money situation is so dire that it's impossible to save up, say, $100 in a few months to buy a decent entry-level GPU, you probably shouldn't be spending your money on the games themselves, either.
+Dave Starr think about the kids
+Dave Starr Well the most played games today are LoL, Dota 2 which are free and CS:GO which is 5-10$ all while delivering thousands of potential entertainment hours. + There are steamsales where you can get few years old AAA games for next to nothing - point being you can be a PC gamer without spending a lot for software.
+Dave Starr Arrrrrrrr matey, there be pirates.
+Dave Starr You can get nice used parts for less than $100 easily. Or, dumpster diving works.
+Dave Starr THis. If your money situation is so dire, you don't have money for gaming.
We need an updated version
yep
Came just to say that. You beat me to it by 1 year. Good call!
Yep yep
It's still basically the same. Don't buy anything under a GTX 750 Ti (or the AMD equivalent) if you're looking for a GPU that can do more than give more video ports and play games other than casual or esports titles.
Need a cheap display-out card?
I bought a Radeon HD 8570 (a.k.a R5 240) used on eBay for less than $20. It's GCN 1.0 so it actually has up-to-date Windows 10 drivers and supports H.264 decode acceleration. A crap ton of these cards are on eBay right now pulled from a lot of Dell prebuilts.
I have a gtx 980, I upgraded from a r7 240. Literally 11 times the framerate in Heaven benchmark.
Dude that video was released when the r7 was first released and its too expensive to be called a low. Profile card and there is already used full entry card
@@darkdusty1937 The R7 240 was new when I bought it. I bought a 1080ti a year ago
@@SpecialEDy welp the video that theyre defending is that theyre still better things in the market XD
Oh sorry i didnt read your comment right 😅
@@derrenknight1793 you're kidding, right?
I was gonna use my igpu, and then i realized I had an FX.
...but i have GT 730 in 4-way sli...
xd
Luke needs to try it ...
8-way sli nvidia 256s
Tanzu15 it should be possible to crossfire some cheap amd cards tho ...
+jeremie yep
I have a challenge for you:
Build a Raspberry pi 2 (or any other microcomputer like a Banana Pi or orange Pi) cluster, make it run a x86 emulator and play games on it. Try building it inside of a normal pc case. ^^
I would love this. they need to do it!
+MGThePro It wouldn't work well if it is even possible because games are not made to use lots of little cores, especially non demanding games
well maybe it's possible that multiple ARM cores emulate one Big core ^^
(like 4 raspberry pi, each 4 core ARM processor emulates one fast x86 processor) :D
MGThePro
nope.
well, it would be actually possible but it would be a coding nightmare and because it has no functionality no team would make such a thing
*not nightmare, more like hell...
+there would be enormous compatibility/stability issues
Magic_Sowap well thats the challenge, also it's not about practicability :D
make another one because of the gt 1030
gt 1030 is like a gtx 750 or 750 ti ,it's not really even that bad
spnsnoop dogg a used 750 ti would be cheaper tho
Gt 1030 is shit, 64 bits in 2017? wtf Nvidia
+Vanessa S then i present to you this video ua-cam.com/video/94ErjYk8G1w/v-deo.html
+Radian Al in some cases, yes this argument may be true and 750 ti I think even supports shadowplay whereas the gt 1030 doesn't, but the gt 1030 will be supported after the 750 ti stops being supported by nvidia and it uses less power and is lower profile. Besides to get a cheap 750ti(cheaper than 70 bucks), you would often need to go to sites like ebay or craigslist, and some people don't like to use such websites to get such stuff (such as myself).
in laptops, you won't even be able to find a 750 ti in a laptop. But, there is the mx150; a card that performs about the same as a gt 1030 that you can find in laptops as cheap as $500-600 .

Used is ALWAYS a good option if you're broke. Just hunt the classifieds and lowball everyone (gumtree for me) upgraded my GF's crapbox 275's for a gtx760 for $140AUD last year doing that. Now she can spend all day taming dino's in ARK >_>
+Maker's Muse Hm, you never know who you'll run into in the UA-cam comments section. Nice channel!
+Maker's Muse not bad channel!
So many people hate on used. For anything other than power supplies and hard drives I always consider used price to performance. I just picked up a used EVGA GTX 970 FTW for $205 on eBay and it works fine. How do you beat that?
Thing is anyone selling kit like that is either A - a gamer who wouldn't have the conscience to sell damaged goods or B - a spoiled child who probably never even used it. Sure, if its in a box with random crap and no protection you might worry but more often than not they show you it working in a system. That is a SICK price for a 970!
+SbotTV LTT Legion!
Lol, destroyed by the iGPU, tha's embarassing.
Yeah it is and I just saved up for a GTX 1050 TI which doesn't want to install.
NWKLN wknefjl uhhh why?
Thermal throttling, of course.
so
what about the 384 cuda core edition eh?
it really is, but is GT1030 or GT1050 are better iGPU?
GTX 1050 Ti looks like a good budget card
Tejas Shringare technology flies faster than I thought it would be, the RX 550 run mostly all esport games these days like CSGO or overwatch, and had 2gb gddr5 all for whopping $80 new
For the price/performance - it also rips to shreds any other budget card from before - gt640 in particular (that's what i had, which on itself - was almost an exact match to gtx275 in every spec aside from using shitton less watts and subsequently heat dissipation).
Like literally - whole 10xx line so far was a marvel. I can't even believe the power boost between top 9xx and 10xx cards.
Also if had to go low profile, this is the most sensible choice.
Can confirm. Have the GTX 1050 low profile in a Dell small form factor case and it is an impressive little card for $100.
My 1050 can run Pavlov vr
I guess we need a 3rd video for 2021, especially due to gpu shortages.
Imo the gtx 1060 6gb is the real sweet spot, got mine used for $120 2 years ago. For reference thats = 1650S and almost 2x compared to 1050ti.
if you go to best buy they advertise the r7 240 as a gaming gpu
also it seems the r7 240 is not that bad because I can run arma at 50 frames on high. it's not what I would run these days but it did good when I had it.
+Nick Howell What processor do/did you have? ArmA's engine goes more after the CPU than GPU. I could play ArmA 3 Alpha on my old GTX 660 2GB on close to ultra (minus Anti-Aliasing and etc) and get a stable 50 fps outside of huge fights and multiplayer.
Not saying this in an offensive kind of way but ArmA is a bit of a bad comparison when you focus on GPUs because of the CPU usage.
Youre probably right I use an octocore 3.2 gigahertz processor
Nick Howell
That explains it! Tho it's a good thing ArmA works that way, as it's such a great game :)
+Alexander Nikolai ya but I still have yet to find a game that runs below 30
i got an r7 260x (the very bottom of the sweet spot) for $65 on newegg... just keep an eye out for the r7 260x and the gtx 750 ti, they go on sale frequently.
+shut your face!
hell, the 750 ti is 100 bucks right now, only 30 dollars more. people on a budget are saying they can't save that much? I UNDERSTAND, with inflation and all that, but still... EVGA SC 750 ti was ninty bucks just 3 weeks ago, the best version of the 750 ti.
Right now the AMD r7 370 from XFX is 110 dollars.
There are so many better budget cards than the gt 730 or r7 240... especially the ones you listed
+LooneyPony I take it you don't have a family or a mortgage to pay? I've watched my brother have a real tight budget because his kids and his house comes first. So, yah.. I don't have a problem dropping $500 bucks on a video card, but lots of people have quite restricted budgets. Even $100 bucks isn't something they can spare (at least not for 6 months).
+LooneyPony That's the TI I put in the ladies hackintosh. Works really well for what I needed.
+TheJohn8765 If he's so strapped for cash that he can't save $100 in less than 6 months, and he's wasting money on gaming, he REALLY needs to handle his finances better, and you, as his brother, should tell him to handle his shit like an adult.
Yeah newegg is a great place to get used GPU's

Linus should have done this video.
+Dylan Palmer NO
+Dylan Palmer although Luke is my favorite
+RisseK1 agreed. luke is the right person for evaluating a gpu.
+Dylan Palmer luke always did graphics card stuff
+RisseK1 Actually, Luke handles all gpu-related videos. This change took place sometime last year, hence Luke hosting instead of Linus.
+LinusTechTips please ignore comments on this video. People are just being stupid. This video is perfectly on spot.
+I HOPE ALL GOOGLE BASTARDS DIE A PAINFULL DEATH yes but at this rate igpu is still better.
+I HOPE ALL GOOGLE BASTARDS DIE A PAINFULL DEATH its about the value of the card not the price we are not getting the performance that we are paying our money for
+I HOPE ALL GOOGLE BASTARDS DIE A PAINFULL DEATH if you can, without being aggressive explain yourself.. That would be great.
+I HOPE ALL GOOGLE BASTARDS DIE A PAINFULL DEATH if you can't afford a mid-high end graphics card then you most likely can't afford the games to play it on. Therefore making the purchase of a low end graphics card pointless and a waste of money.
+I HOPE ALL GOOGLE BASTARDS DIE A PAINFULL DEATH thats the whole point... ppl that have a motivation to buy this card can have a way better card for the same price used....
I got a GTX 745 4 gig card for nothing and I still think its a terrible deal... mind you the AMD 945 dosn't have onboard video but still
5:28 - I have that exact video card in my Dell Optiplex 580 spare PC. I feel sad now. :(
Got a R9 280 on ebay for a $100 couple days ago
USD (american money) Its used though.
+BaconToast That's a really great value though. I bought my 280 OC edition early April of last year while on sale. It also had a mail in rebate which brought it down to $170. It was a steal at the time but you can find them just as cheap if not cheaper nowadays. The performance was a huge step up from my R7 250.
+BaconToast I just bought a GTX 680 for 130 euro.
Plenty of awesome deals to be had, yours is exceptional though :)
+BaconToast You are more intelligent than 90% of the people watching this. Congrats on the great deal!
Garry Perkins It is a good deal, as long as he got a good deal on the psu hahaha.

+Fennec Fox (FennecTECH) well it's sorta self explanatory right
compared to my 840 pro and my 850 evo I don't think my sp550 does particularly worse as a boot drive but it's definitely not better
and the tiny 32gb drive is the same as low end gpus right? it's much too expensive and way too small to be useful or hit a price to performance sweet spot
How good of a card do you need for adobe premiere pro and after affects (Not gaming)
Jv Productions The stronger the better really, "need" is more of a thing of what you're happy with, your workload and if time is a factor.
is gigabyte sabre 15 with 1050 gpu good? i cant find the review. i have money only for that laptop
hows the new gt 710
+Faraonqa Don't know. Ask EVGA about that. They made an entire promo video just for that card on their YT channel.
+Faraonqa Worse than the 730, as the name would imply.
Ik I was hoping they were going to look at that. I want to see nvidia's claim -about being better than igpus- tested.
+Faraonqa Seems to be still a Kepler chip... wouldn't get my hopes high..
+Faraonqa
Does that exist?
Hey guys guess what?
I game on Intel HD Graphics 3000
yes
Hey Guess What I game on a 64mb intel chipset
i used to do so too. now I upgraded to HD530 from intel
+김동우 (Cheers4Android) I play tf2
***** what do u think of the meet your match update?
Great video! I’m definitely guilty of buying a 730, but the reason was that I was afraid that anything with greater power draw would kill my system, which for years was plagued by an unsuitable power supply since I got it. The 730 represented an improvement in my performance with lower power draw, and was much easier to swap in than a new power supply.
Is that an appropriate use case?
Office Depot was selling an ASUS GT710 with 2GB GDDR5 and passive cooling for $40. I got it for my friend who had an HP Pavilion without a graphics card, and he still uses it.
Edit: yea I take that back, he just bought a GTX 1070

Crysis 2? Nigga that can run the witcher 3 wild hunt on ultra settings with a constant 60fps.
Nah i got witcher 3 running on a triple 8k monitor setup with max settings with 500+ fps.
yes but only at 4k
Step back everyone!
I've got a 2001-2003 1.7GhZ Celeron and a GeForce 2 MX.
I'm going to try and get 5 fps in Minesweeper
xD. I love how i used my gt 430 for gaming all the time. And now after a few years and my income has increased quite a lot, my i7 internal gpu has almost dubble the performance of a gt 430 xD. How did i manage to live so long with that computer is something i still dont understand
And no, my primary gpu is not the i7, its a gtx660 which im getting rid of when pascal is out
+Sisrace skip Pascal and wait till 2018? There's gonna be Volta GPUs which will be twice as good as a Pascal GPU. I had a Palit GTX 650Ti 2GB and swapped it out for a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4GB... now I'm regretting it, cause I could have gotten a decent i7 (currently running a i5 3470 3.2GHz) and a Volta GPU in 2 years. Too bad I didn't know about Volta and Pascal GPUs before I upgraded ;-;
I upgraded to my i7 6700K not so long ago, but ive been running my gtx 660 now for 2years, and its starting to crap itself in newer games. Since a gtx 970 is basically all you need for everything 1080P (Which is what i run, scre 4K, no moneys m8) I only have patience to wait for pascal, and even then im considering a temporary gtx 680 or something... :(
***** :/ it would be a waste though. Pascal GPUs will cost the price of a currently high end GPU + 100$. They will cause a 100$ drop on the old GPUs (900 series for example). So, imo wait for Pascal, get a 680. It should get you 30FPS ultra on new games. You will make it to Volta and you will get something which will rape a Pascal GPU lol
Dammit why all this wait x(
hey linus, can give an advice on which laptop do i buy,
2nd gen core i5 or 3rd gen core i3? which do more better? TIA

Fx geek, I run two 1080s in sli so I will show sympathy toward you! I can’t show empathy though I’m afraid:) the lowest end card I’ve used is a gtx 770, would always buy used then buy a gt210- also known as a graphics decelerator!
TY Anyway, [I GET 5-6 FPS ON GTA 4 AT ULTRA LOW!!!!!]
After Playing It Like That For 10-15 Minutes, I Deemed It As Unplayable And Left It.
Someone must be buying these right? Why would AMD and Nvidia bother otherwise?
+Daniel Lecoq To put in OEM systems or mass built "gaming" PCs.
AMD CPUs (not APUs I mean) don't have integrated GPUs. When people use AMD CPUs for their home theater setups, for example, they need something as a GPU. If they are not planning to game on their home theater setup, they use these to save up a few bucks.
+itsFisch Yeah I love seeing those "gaming" PCs they are so extreme and rubberstamped "GAMING" or "EXTREME" it's always nice to read the spec sheet for a good chuckle.
+Daniel Lecoq Yeah its super weird... if someone its not going to use its PC for gaming then it would buy a 30 bucks card like the GeForce 210 Luke mention (if that someone knows what hes doing).
+Daniel Lecoq because both companies know that the majority of people don't know what they're buying when it comes to computer parts. Lol
speaking of budget PCs, i spent like 300 bucks on a PC with a 3GHz i5, 8 gigs of ram and a 4 GB GTX 960, did i do well?
Stay away from my peanut butter 300 for all of that? What did you spend on with your motherboard and HDD and case?
It was an old Dell desktop that already had the i5 and 4 gigs of ram, i basically only had to buy the GTX 960 and another 4 gigs of ram.
Stay away from my peanut butter
even if all those parts are used I'd say u did well for urself cause any computer sporting a gpu that is even semi decent is usually very expensive. like well over 300$ so yeah u did well.
My PC cost me 300$ and it has intel I5 3.1 GHz, Rx460 4 GB, 500w 8 GB RAM. because my brother works at Best buy and gets 40% discounts lol
Lemuel
thats a nice pc u got and the price is literally unbeatable!!! lucky u:) just so u know that rx 460 isn't a true 4gb card cause it isn't strong enough to use all 4gb's of vram. it will use over half of it's vram though so u might have 3gigs of usable vram with that card. just thought I'd let u know. its the same story with the gtx 1050 too.
Hey idk if you guys have already done a video on it. But id really appreciate a video showing all of the benchmarks you use and where to purchase them.
if you found this card for cheap and needed a passivley cooled low heat output card for a case like streacom DB4 where you cannot run a hot CPU beacuse recommended TDP is 65 watt. would this card be viable? since its small formfactor, low heat output and passively cooled?
Makes sense, if you are going to by a $80 dollar card that sucks, and instead save a little more and buy a $100 card with more than double the performance. You don't really have yours money worth on a new GPU until you reach $100 mark then you start to get most for you money on lower end GPUs.
That's true, you just need to make sure to its still in good condition and it won't die on you in a month, But you are right buying used is a good alternative.
hows 1050ti?
will it be future proof? i mean , i have to use it for 3/4 years probably.
A Random Idiot Play's one last question. if i buy a i5-6600k and not use a GPU , what kind of gaming I can get out of it? cz I don't have the budget for both GPU and i5. it's either i3-6100 and GPU or i5-6600k without gpu
100 usd is way too much for a graphics card. It's better to buy and apu.
You bought the wrong GT 730. The GDDR5 edition is far faster and within the same budget range. It's even recommended by sites like Tom's Hardware for it's surprisingly capable gaming performance.
Lol yeah right so like what 10-15% better performance making it barely better than integrated Intel GPU lol fail
Spencerwalker21 You seem intelligent.
That was a joke. Haha.
The GT 730 GDDR5 edition gets an average of 63FPS in GTA V, 49 in Battlefield 4, and 61 in GS:GO. I'd like to see an R7 240 do that (Hint: It won't). The higher memory bandwith makes all teh difference.
The only reason to use an R7 240 or 250 is if you've got an AMD A8 or A10 APU and want the extra performance with a Dual-Graphics option, which show decent FPS increases comparable to some more expensive cards.
+IronOreGaming yeah I'm not referring to the amd 240 misunderstood your comment but it's still a terrible buy if your buying a new system get a apu and save to buy a GPU fir later or buy a used gtx 660
+IronOreGaming
A GDDR5 240 can be just as good, but it is brutally underclocked by default, in order to get 18W TDP.
The same ( except 1 CU is not cut down) GPU on 250 runs at 1ghz by default.
Oland and GK208 GPU-s are roughly equivalent with each other.
And they both suck as desktop GPU-s.
Spencerwalker21 That's also a viable option, I won't argue that it isn't. If you're on a super-limited budget, buying used is probably the best way to go.
I put a zotac gt 730 4gb in my wifes desktop and it surprised me immensely considering I run a 970 in my desktop. I think that nowadays its not a good option as a cheap 1050 can be bought for around the same price and give you a solid performance increase overall. love your videos bud keep it up! and hey careful with those CPU's... watched u drop one earlier on that budget build upgrade video LOL. well done sir
My Friend has a 1080ti parred with an i5 6700... is that a good or bad thing? Should he get a better CPU?
I love the titan x pascal it is not that expensive if you think about it, everyone has a kidney right?
Technically yes, practically not really.
You can only sell one, so it's kind of a once off deal, you won't be upgrading any time soon.
but you can sell the titan to get another for a low price :D
I don't know where you are from, but where I am that people normally have two kidney.
Only works once, then. Second time you won't get away with selling a kidney.
I NEED HELP ANYTHING WOULD HELP! So throughout the last couple of weeks i would hear a click noise and then my audio and video would stop working forcing me to restart my PC so I can have it work once again. This would only last about an hour then i have to it turn off and on again. Do I need to upgrade my graphics card or is it something else?
So what to do when I want to run UHD 3680*2160* 60Hz over HDMI 2.0 in 4-4-4 on a 55 inch curved TV and some external monitors for e-mail and so on for mainly web browsing and office work and some 2D CAD work. Is it anything lower then GTX 1050 or the older GTX 970 that run?
how do you use a graphics card for more ports that woukd bve good for me as i have 3 screens all hdmi but i have 1 port on my card

2:53 you can never tell an American to "wait" and "save"
typical Corvette driver
.. wut?
apachelives Americans who can't do "wait" and "save" all have guns and drive pickups trucks, Corvettes or Mustangs.
BSG So they're successful? some of those cars you mentioned are very expensive and so are guns.
AllAlongTheWatchtower Exactly. They own farms with nothing on them, their wives get them income, and they spend their money on Corvette's 'n Guns.
I have an HP Pavilion desktop PC from around 2009, DDR2 RAM, Intel core 2 duo. 500 Watts PSU. The HP web page says it has a PCI x16 expansion slot for GPU. What are the best graphic cards I can get for it? The price doesn't matter. Thanks.
Thank you for pointing that out. I had been conditioned too view used electronics as trash. But computer parts are an exception. Some one can be looking to just offset the cost of an upgrade. I too can sell many old parts for extra $$. A interesting video would be HOW much can you upgrade for? selling off old parts. Might get a banging pc for $100 in upgrades.
I had an old dell optiplex with an intel lga 775 quad core in it, but the form factor of my case required low profile. I had no game worthy integrated graphics chip in the box, so I bought a low profile amd card for about $70 at the time. It worked great for low end gaming at smooth frame rates. It worked with what I had and got me from not being able to game at all to being able to do some marginal gaming. I am thankful for it, because that was how I started off about four years ago.
I still use radeon hd5450 and core 2 duo...
Same for me except the cpu is core i3.
U guys suck
and you swallow
i just built a 550 ti and a core 2 duo for gaming
i do too, for my htpc. because i dont want a fan in my htpc. for gaming i'd buy a card with AT LEAST 128bit memory but that's aiming for low settings 1080p maybe 720p.
is the NVIDIA 8400GS Geforce PCI-e 512MB 64Bit Low Profile DDR2 any good i have a 12 year old asus pc with intergrated grapics i cant afford anthing better and i would like to know if its better than intergrated
i love the factor that you guys stick together i just bought a used computer with 8 core 3.5ghz proc. and 3 750 sli together 750 and 1 tb hdd 220 gb ssd and 180 ssd and all i paid for the who thing was 600 thank you but my question is would it be worth the upgrade to the 1080
a 210 can't even handle 1080p youtube videos :3
what's the point of buying it?
+wayne halks I have a 210 and it can handle 1080p videos, blu rays and some emulators. The point is, if you're building an HTPC and have a spare motherboard with no hdmi out, one of these cards is the cheapest way to hook you up to an AV receiver and TV for 20-25 bucks.

+wayne halks I'd buy one if I desperately need to drive 1 or 2 VGA monitors (which high end AMD cards can't do, and neither can integrated) and also to do Hybrid PhysX. But only at 5-10 bucks. New prices? LOL no.
wtf, video cards arent used to render youtube videos, thats a CPU work
Learn before writing m8
+MarcoZ I could run 2 monitors with a Intel G31 chipset xD
I don't really understand how people who don't have a lot of money get all butt hurt just because they can't afford something right now. Just wait, save up money even if it's just pennies and cents it will eventually add up enough, so you can buy something that isn't garbage.
Technology will always move forward and get better as time goes by, so the longer you wait, the better the stuff you buy later on will be.
1TerraHertz Again, save up for a better card. As for the sake of your hypothetical job situation, there's always looking for better jobs though if you're in a situation where you only earn $1 per month overall, gaming shouldn't be your concern in the slightest.
If you can only save up a dollar each month for a graphics card, then I don't think gaming should be in the list of priorities.
Also you don't have to buy graphics cards or computer parts new, it's more than likely that you can buy cards that have been in use for 3-4 years and they are still absolutely fine and are most likely on sale under 50$
if you can only save a dollar a month you arent working hard enough, you can always make more money, nobody is stopping you.
I'm sorry to hear that, mine is like half of that :O
***** my mortgage is half that, again though, you dont have to live there, you chose that. wait until later to build a pc
I traded a western digital laptop hdd for a gtx 680. no money. did I get a good deal?
Can someone tell me which is better: gt 1030 or rx 550?
So is the r7 360 amd msi oc 2 gb worth it or not (wanna replace my old ati radeon 3650hd from his. with mediocre 512 mb)
Yes
+Mongocom I recently upgraded from the R7 360, but it was a very good card in my opinion ran all my games very well, most holding 60 or higher FPS if that matters.
dont get the R7 360 now though, wait for RX 480, Get that or just wait till it arrives so that GTX 970 drops all the way to $100 lol
I use an r7 360 and it's a decent card for the price. It runs many game at 1080p but it's beginning to show its age and limitations. Newer games (like overwatch) will need to have its settings turned to low for 1080p 60fps. But if you don't need 1080p or 60fps, you'll be fine. Most of the time for the newer games I get 40-50fps
+Thundertube7 well i need 1920x1080 ....what gpu then ?
lol damn, I never knew I've been subbed to LinusTechTips for so long xD
Fast forward 5 years to the GPU apocalypse....a mid range computer with a GTX 730 is a gaming computer! The GTX 730 is STILL being sold new today.
Hey i know im kinda late but here's a question ive been struggling with. would the highest end aib card (rog strix 3060 for eg) be better than a low end aib card (inno3d twin x2 3060 ti or 3070 if i find one with the same or lower price) for a higher tier?
hahahaha i remember the first video where linus gets a low end card and says "ok guys you always talk about how i only review high end cards, well here's an r7 240: a product that SUCKS and nobody should buy" i laughed so hard at that. thanks guys for making my mornings at work more bearable

hey is the nvidia geforce gt 1030 a good graphics card?and also what is the difference btwn low profiled and the normal gt 1030?
im using intel g41rq motherboard. its outdated but i want a graphic card for it. pls suggest me some compatible graphic card names\models
What if people are building an arcade cabinet? It doesn't need high end hardware to run Pacman, but still need some form of output because the CPU iGPU is not sufficient enough. I know this is niche but wouldn't it also help with legacy OS' as well? Or am I just bat shit crazy trying to fend for a losing side
Raspberry Pi runs Emulators
he just said that its a bad price to performance, a gt210 beats the r7 but only costs $30
Check out ryzen 2500g igpu then report to me
Evan white, I recently did something like this. I used a msi cubi i3 with its onboard graphics. While it seems like it's crap out of the gate it has surprised me at every turn when running mame under linux. Using the default drivers for video the latest 3d game I attempted to play was street fighter ex2 and it played flawless. Soul calibur it chugged. Ridge racer1 dipped below normal framerates but was very playable.
Now because the CPU was an i3 it still worked pretty damn good for myself. I have heard through the grapevine that if you can get a mini pc with an i5 CPU it's pretty good for setting up arcade games.
Also if you are fending for a card the 210 is okay as it's opengl capabilities is pretty solid. Also if the 710 is actually not stupidly priced it's pretty solid.
0:00 Go to the first frame of the video and just look at Luke's face XD
t o n g u e
Hahahahahahah
Have you guys done a new follow up on this one? Might be nice to see if there are any new cheap ones that's don't suck.
is this gt730 ddr3 or ddr5??? do we get any better performance in ddr5 version in compare to intel hd530???
I thought i will never see the day when i could see a review of my graphics card (seriously i have a zotac 210)
+Fer NXT ok that´s sad
+Fer NXT i have the gt 8600 and i got it for free in the street, funny its like 2x or 3x faster than gt210
i have da gt210... lol
i got a gt 610 man.
+Fried Cake GTX 780 6gb's... here
I have a Intel gma 4500mhd
hd5450 here:S
+Kicstar V Yup, had 1 in my old PC at work for ages. Just chucked a GTS 250 in that I had lying about as an upgrade since it's going to need upgrading soon enough.
does the gt 1030 suck as well? I was thinking to make a PC with i5 7400 and the gt 1030 since I m not a big fan of games and I don't want 1080p ultra settings. I just want playable framerates. So in that case should I pair my 7400 with the 1030 or should I wait for 6 months with the iGPU and then go with a gtx 1050
I genuinely think you should do another one of these, this time with the 1030...
MSI Radeon R7 240 2GB - is $14.99 seems like a good value!
refurb
Lisa Lowery I don't see the benefits of somthing that can't compete with a onbord gpu old or new
If your iGPU beats it, it's still 15$ wasted haha
***** For this reason makes it a great deal!
can't wait to game in 5fps
There was a time when Linus actually REPLIED?!?!
I remember playing Skyrim on 800x600 resolution back in 2011 when I had an AMD Phenom X4 840 and a Radeon HD 5450. Good ol' times :)
Hey Linus I have a go 730 and is it OK for a few months until I can upgrade?
My comment being featured in an LTT video? I can die in peace now
It's time for a refresh
What if i still have a core 2 duo and a gtx 620 would you call that a waste of money
what are all your specs myn are and fx 4170 over clocked to 4.5 GHz and HD 4770 8gb ram 800w psu
I watched the original video again just the other day. hahaha, the amount of people who missed the point was way too high.
Thanks to the youtube algorithm for recommending a 17 months old video!
Just recommended for me and i found it "meh" the wait and save has resulted in overinflated gou prices and higher ddr4 costs. Build price has risen 500-ish dollars because of that shit 😕
are people just catching on to this " pc just got more expensive " thing? I am spending quite a lot of time checking new parts and planning my next build. And the only thing i have noticed is a reduction in ram price and gpu price. Not even a 1080ti is that expensive anymore.
Heh try 2 years
Wtf lol I just realized when he said 2016 guess it's time to get back to life
It just recommended it to me now LOL
Ei ai hav a pentium 4 and i game csgo at 10 fps. If i get a gt 1070 can i get 400 fps?
Is the Geforce GT 710 good because I have just got a new PC and I have little knowledge about PC'S?
I have a gt 210 with 2gb of ram.
+NextG3NEra Dork
Mine is 1GB, i didnt know that theres a 2GB version
Im doing it... is a GTX 550 ti
it's actually a geforce 210. I had one in my old 'gaming' pc
I am using a gt 740 SC. It is a pretty solid gpu for people who need an upgrade to the iGPU.
Is a 2gb 950ti good for league of legends? Could i run another game?
Easily, the GTX 750Ti can play Cyrsis 3 at high plus settings, so a GTX 950 should be able to play anything. But the new GTX 1050 Ti is more or less directly rated between a GTX 960 and a GTX 970 at around $149 I think, so it's a better buy.
DDuMas Thanks. Do you think skyrim can run on ultra?
Possibly, not sure. But for context, the GTX 750 Ti can run Arkham Knight at 30fps really well, maybe better than consoles and that's not a great port. So there's a good chance the GTX 950 could max Skyrim, I expect the GTX 1050 Ti probably would if the GTX 950 couldn't, especially since it's a 4GB card.
Can you get a GTX 950 on a special deal or something?
DDuMas my budget is around 6500-7000 for a full pc
6500 - 7000? Which currency is this?
man i've been using my hd530 for a few weeks, now i'm waiting for my gtx980ti that i bought off amazon warehouse deals used, you nailed it, good job luke
Are used graphics card worth buying? Please answer
For gaming Yes.
For Word No.
For CPU without intergrated graphics Yes.
But not this cheap save up some more money to buy a higher end one. Or put the money that you will use for the GPU towards a better CPU.
750 ti is low profile and it owns. The shrinking of chips will bring in a whole new era of low profile cards. Radeon already has a
Go cry? I run a 980 ti on a 5960x. I use a 750ti to watch movies on a amd 5350. I wouldn't use any low profile card to play games. I bet with a name like that your one ugly mother. I mean just a brutal looking human being on every level.
+Jimmy Jam Yoo haha i have a FX-6300 paired with a 750Ti and it's a performs well :D
Shabbir Khambatti thx man ;D
AxionHD It def does. The amd 5350 with a 750 ti can play games, but its only pci express 4x.Its also only single channel ram. I had a overclocked 6300 and burnt it out. Its where my 750ti came from, but i upgraded. Its getting to the point where there needs to be a successor to the 750 ti. I hope they put out a 14nm card that beats it soon.
Man, I really hope for more low profile cards! I love my 750 Ti, and wish they kept making them at this tiny form factor.
We need a 2018 update more than ever!
2021 here, yeah...
I found a gt 710 low profile for $40 is that good for budget gaming?
I have a *GT710 2GB DDR3* 😓
Do I get to live?
is this better than a gtx 960?
no way
+Aaron Somi but this gpu can run crysis on max setting and with a constant 60 fps, im not sure that the gtx 960 can manage that
+otakuMCkid6969MRstealYOgirl the 960 is better t by a huge margin
+Rickie Cheong its a trolls thing
lol u gave up pretty fast
this video is more ads than info
your comment is more spam than relevant
one comment on the facts is not spam (look it up if you don't understand)
they have more ads than they did
you should be more subjective and not jus a fan
My father did put a gt 740 2gb it still suck for the price?
Is the gt 1030 better then the intregated graphics ? Or should we push it up to the 1050 or 1050ti.
If you are getting this cheap, you need to set your priorities straight.
get another job
Stop buying the most expensive cell phone and get a cheap prepay service.
Stop having children
Don't let your girlfriend live off of you.
If you are single, get the cheapest apartment you can find. You don't need much living space.
Just work in a warehouse, stop doing these min wage jobs.
+PessOmist So you shouldnt have kids just to afford a gaming pc?what kind of logic is that?
Such Doge What do you even need kids for? Many people are having them and don't even know what to do with them, they just end up draining their bank accounts and making life a struggle. I can't see how the decision to have children is more important than deciding to get a new gaming PC especially if you would enjoy having the PC more.
PessOmist I hope you are trolling.
+PessOmist when the right people have kids, they can make their lives even happier. so maybe that doesn't apply to you but it applies to others.
Adam552 You shouldn't have kids if you can't even afford a decent GPU.
you guys should do more videos about middle low gaming combos
There are plenty of channels based on low end hardware. LTT is focused on high end and if they started branching out really far, the quality would go down because they wouldn't have as much focus. They have some low end videos, but only do them when they are MASSIVELY requested for a specific reason.
+Avocatul Poporului low end/mid would be get a amd apu like a10 7870k play happy bf4 at mid settings (45+ fps)
+Ivars Odins you shouldn't cheap out on apus for gaming, just get an i3 and a 950 for gaming, battlefield is not a hard game to run
+AssassainFlank GROWNPC go for i5 becouse of 4 cores
Martin Mojžíšek well the i3 has hyperthreading so it acts like it does have 4 cores even though it has 2
I need a very low power consumption and low profile card. Any recommendations?
but why did you choose the ddr3 version instead of the gddr5 version
