I Fall In Love Too Easily -- jazz acoustic piano solo

- I have posted a companion score and midi file on my website, www.7notemode.com This is a streamilined version to share some of the voicings I'm using. I also included a basic bass line as an example of how to get started doing a walking bass. I have had a lot of requests for teaching material, so this a bit of an experiment for me to see how much interest there is.
This tune is from the 1945 film "Anchors Aweigh", and was a standard played by Miles Davis and Bill Evans. The Miles Davis recordings of it are amazing. I took a fairly standard approach to it, using some chord substitutions, but I didn't go that far out. This is an unusual structure because it is only 16 measures long, and plays in a repeating AB pattern. Something about the changes makes me want to go over and over it. It's very circular. I never get tired of playing it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing it.
I've listened to a lot of Bill Evans. He really speaks to me.
12 years later. Still in awe. Brilliant.
Thank you.
Magistral. A wide range of colors orbits Bill Evans' palette. If you played like that 15 years ago, I can't imagine your current level.
Excellent. I still enjoy playing at 83 years - Bill Evans fan.
I hope to be here still playing at 83 too! Thanks.
15 years later, this is still a banger!! This is nasty brother!!🔥
Incredible sensitivity, superior dynamic range, and a totally confident performance.
Outstanding.
Stunning
This video is more than 10 years old now but here in late 2019 and i'm still listening to it. Hope you're still out there playing ^^
Thanks so much. I love this song. I took a 5 year break from youtube but recently started posting again.
7notemode taking breaks is nice, glad you were able to rest up and post again ^^
Here's 2020
Great songs played superbly never age.
@@geraldjampol3120 Are you related to Alan Jampol who I knew years ago at UCSB..
I hear a lot of guys play jazz on youtube, but your style, finesse and command of the piano has always captivated me. The first video I saw of yours was Crystal Silence. Absolutely beautiful! Keep 'em coming.
....In fact, I had noticed some change....
I think that now you have even more fun with the top available control to the full dynamic.... again 5 ***** for having changed hammers, a really beautiful sound :-)
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful
Oh, so soft and beautifully played. I could (and do) listen for hours.
Like all your postings ít´s a real pleasure, highest professional standard by the best amateur here on youtube.
Thank you so much Putytand. And thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments.

Amazing
What a tension!-What a beautiful choice of voicings!
Absolutely amazing
7notemode bravo maestro!!!
Some day will be me jazzing.
I looked at your website and did not see the score of this tune- I fall in love to easily? You wrote that you put it there, but I don’t see it. Great playing!!! Love it!!
What a wonderful talent! Beyond beautiful...
Great Pianist on a beautiful song. Thanks for sharing your talent. AM
Only 54k view on this masterpiece???...what a shame for humanity

Thanks ArchieWW. I was just monitoring the recording through in ear phones.
Thanks Eubop. I really appreciate your kind words.
Thank you joeylovespizza. I really appreciate your comment.
Thanks Alfonso -- new hammers that have been voiced. Good ears.
I'm also very interested in the companion score, although playing/copying by ear is always better than reading of course ;-) Thanks for this magnificent version!
ooh gorgeous.. I will check out the teaching.. I love this :D
Thanks, jimbomed. I appreciate it.
Great playig and great sound/miking
kevchizzie, Thanks. Bill Evans is a major influence.
Particular great harmony and impro Tom.
Elegant dynamic touch.
I do not know if you have changed anything, but it seems that your piano has a sound different from before.
Terrific post * * * * *
Beautiful play. Subscribed :)
wonderful job.!!!
The Ishter, yes, it's a B. I record a separate audio track which I add later. I use two omni mics spaced 12 inches apart two feet outside the case of the piano. Fortunately, the room has pretty good acoustics.
very very nice!
nice may be one day ill play like that. thanks
Nice
Donotclickonthis, I use voicings and patterns I am familiar with. A different take would be similar, but with different variations on the basic changes. One way I try to get away from that is to change the key, which forces me to use a different approach.
wow..
Fantastico :)!
very.... very wel done!
@ROMANTICLOVE09 He records on his own Steinway B, and as you can hear, he keeps it in wonderful condition.
Thanks, hannspree12345. I just listen to a lot of different musical styles. I take bits and pieces and try to make it my own. Thanks again.
@MrFedemoral I changed website, sorry, not up now. I'll see if I can locate it on hard drive.
Your rendition of this piece is stunning - I have never heard it played so beautifully. I also liked the overhead view of the piano keyboard. May I ask what the purpose of your earphone was? Greetings from Scotland!
Nice..!
I love to listen your music, your note is great. Its somewhat ends on 7th note....
Just curious how you retain your edge. What is your practice routine? Do you just play difficult songs, all the Maj and min scales or what? Marvelous!
haha! great image, BocaFriend!
Omg 😫❤️
I, i noticed that you posted a companion score and midi file on your website, but i cant find it, its still online?
A beautiful song, beautifully played... Is the score + midi still on your website?
I might be mistaken, but I think you have the influence of Bill, especially when you play ballads, I mean, the inner voices and the left hand in a very busy manner. anyway, it is really fine.
Lovely voicings...dope touch...your a pianist pianist....you listen too much Bill Evans? i hear a lil...but very inspiring thanks!!!!
soooo good. subbed! i just did a recording of this as well
Hey, I can't seem to find the MIDI on your site. Can you help direct. I don't see this performance.
hi there... there arent any karaoke versions to this song around, is it ok if my friend and i use it to record over with vocals?
My favorite Frank Sinatra song. ❤️
