Here's a tip for those using lamb flaps, cook the lamb first, once cooked, chop it up & remove the bones or leave on. Dilute the coconut cream with a little bit of water esp if using kara which is really thick & add a pinch of baking soda. This seriously works & makes the lu leaves more tender & stops the itchyness & also by cooking the lamb first, the lu isn't so juicy but just right. Enjoy:)

    Im samoan/german
and i must say i love tongan food. Very similar to traditional samoan dishes with a bit of a twist.
Though they might have similarities they have absolutely different outcomes as far as taste goes. #Samoa&TongaUnite

I agree with Terrence Dunn. Look at France, they are not the 'heaviest nation on earth,' but they have Creme Brûlée, which consists of white sugar AND brown sugar and heaps of cream! Many countries around the world boast somewhat fatty foods irrespective of their 'weight'; it's just about creating dishes out of the resources they have :)

@puakaliku Taro leaves.....onion....lamb and coconut cream......I don't know where you from but that doesn't sound like rubbish to me.....the only rubbish is your comment.....if we were talking Big Mac's or Burger King then I'd understand but I'd take Lu Sipi over western takeaways any day!!
