Honestly, I feel like the hardest part is to make a material that can couple, decouple, transport and re-arrange as quickly as those bots, while being strong enough to support the weights and forces of their own operations PLUS whatever they may be carrying. Probably doable with magnets, but whatever batteries they need to keep up the magnetic field should run out rather quickly, which is honestly a bummer.
You know, if you wanna own a Disney movie, you can just physically buy a dvd of one. While many of them are vaulted, people still sell (legal) copies of them when they were available. Not everything needs to be digital (jeez i sound like an old person)
Imagine having a real Baymax during quarantine. Not only could we help people with Coronavirus in their own home which can also serve as company and could even save those having a hearts attack within just seconds.
I would love to see a Theory video comparing the possibilities of what was done in BH6, and what the Neura-Link is able to do. By intrusively placing a motherboard into someone's brain, and by making that person able to communicate with it, you could theoretically do way more than was done in BH6.
I don't know where Matpat got the idea of big hero 6 being set 150 years into the future because the only hint in the movie of what time it's set in is a banner for the 95th anniversary of the golden gate bridge which would place the timeline at around 2032.
The reason for Baymax having a low battery life might be the complex system with a singular battery (while each microbot would have it’s own) And he was never built for travel, but only for medical care.
Dear MatPat, Stephanie, Austin, Gaijin Goombah and any and all other members of the Game Theorists that I forgot/don't know about, Hi! It's me! Isaac! I realize that wording it that way makes it seem like we've interacted in some way before, but really I just wanted to make a reference to how Austin does all of his videos. In fact, I'll be putting in a few more references, so keep an eye out for them! (A clap and a half to any theorist who spots them all). Anyway, getting on topic, this is the first UA-cam comment I’ve ever written and I’m writing it because I have a HUGE favour to ask. Like, the number of possible Mario Maker levels to the power of the cost of building a Death Star multiplied by the number of digits in pi huge. I have a game that I've loved for a long time, but I’ve always had trouble putting the lore together, so I decided to ask some professionals. Since I couldn't find any, I'll ask you guys instead. (Kidding!) The game in question is by the same people who created the "Kingdom Hearts" series. The characters in the game have appeared as side characters in one or more “Kingdom Hearts” games (I’m not sure which one/ones), but I want to know what actually happens in the game that focuses on THEIR story, called "The World Ends With You" (original Japanese title; "It's A Wonderful World"). The gameplay itself is fairly straightforward, and makes full use of the Nintendo DS’s features, such as battling across both screens and using the touchscreen really well for literally everything you do from battle to dialogue to using the menu. Additionally, there’s now a remake for iPhones called “The World Ends With You; Solo Remix”, but I haven’t played that, so I don’t know the differences, if there are any. (Also, there’s another remake on the way for the Nintendo Switch. “The World Ends With You: Final Remix”.) Unfortunately, the lore makes NO GOD DAMN SENSE to me. It’s like Scott Cawthon and Toby Fox teamed up to make the rageiest lore they possibly could. Or at least, that’s what it feels like for me. Except, they weren’t on the gaming scene at the time, so maybe that analogy doesn’t work… I dunno… Anyway, please, please, PLEASE, for the love of all that is cold, sweet and hard to flip (and may or may not sound like “Riot Smoke”) help me with this issue or I swear to Moana I will copy this into the comments section of every Game Theory, Film Theory and GT Live video you guys post until I see it happen! Sincerely, Isaac. P.S. I realize that it’s unlikely that this will get noticed in the UA-cam comments, but I’m not on any social media sites and I don’t know the GT email address, so this is my only chance. If anyone can help me I would be IMMENSELY appreciative. Thanks.

Greetings from 2150. We don't have microbots. The previous world order was upended by the world federation that controls earth. Its leaders used to go by the names Siri, Alexa, and Cortana.
As for the power, the microbots probably have wireless power transmitters and receivers. It is a hundred years into the future after all, and wireless chargers already exist, so they've probably perfected the technology and dramatically increased the effective range.
When Hiro asked his brother (been so long i forgot his name) what type of battery does Baymax use he said it uses Lithium ion, then Hiro replied "Supercapacitors would be great" Take note that Supercapacitors are a real thing. even when they have less power than Lithium ion, they can be charged instantly or you can just add some solar panels so that the supercapacitor would stay charged. The REAL problems are: 1. We don't know how much power does a nanobot consume so possibly the supercapacitors would be drained almost instantly and overwhelm the charge of the solar panel by the discharge it needs for it to function 2. We don't know if we have the proper material for nanobots. In the movie, we see that the nanobots stack up really high and support heavy objects and if we tried to replicate it the material used for nanobots can possibly break, not to mention that the material has to be magnetic for it to work and since metals are the only thing that has that ability, too bad it's also heavy so when the nanobots would stack up high, the nanobots' structure would collapse under their own weight 3. The nanobots need a very strong electromagnet in order for it to stick to each other and to support the weight of the structures they made 4. We have to make the functioning components of a nanobot to be reaaaalllly tiny since the only place to put it is the core for optimal performance. You have to squeeze a strong raw motor in for the nanobot's mobility, a strong electromagnet, a receiver for the neural interface, wires for the components to connect and a supercapacitor. I'm really starting to think on how Hiro made it.
Does anyone here remember the Matrix? The robots use humans like generators, because our brains naturally generate electricity. I'm not a technological mastermind like Blitzntein beta is, but what if the microbots could could siphon human bioelectricity? This is 2150 after all.
Well technically even biological material is magnetic if the magnet is powerful enough, i have seen a strawberry and a frog fully suspended in mid air via a magnet.
@Quira Graves hey, even if it is unstable, it's still a massive breakthrough. Besides, they were able to teleport small, inanimate objects across a presumably infinite distance, which is massive. I'm still on team portal, thanks.
@@cloaker7237 and, also, they had it ready! in the movie, while hiro and those other people who i can't remember their names are watching the video of the portal launching, one of the technicians told the boss that there was "a small disturbance in the magnetic field." Keep in mind, this is AFTER they teleport the hat, proving that teleportation is possible. The way the movie tells it, there was no disturbance before they teleported the hat. So, the disturbance is what caused Abagail to go into the portal, not the actual difference between her and the hat. And, like you said, this is a MASSIVE breakthrough, and with all the biggest companies funding research on it, it would probably be perfected very soon, given the technology in this movie. But hey, that's just a theory A GAME THEORY Thanks for reading
Yes, in fact Trifold boards are very useful to home brew DM’s for dungeons and dragons, as well as other tabletop games, that use a board to hide what the DM is doing. Surprisingly, they’re more than just science fair display boards
He could use electro waves to charge remotely the microbots, using the same battery as the neurotransmisor, but the real cuestion her is ¿it is safe to have a battery of 70,000 volts attached to your head?
Having an electrical wave transmitted from the same device that is supposed to read electrical waves will cause major interference with reading your brain signals. But, that would be the least of your problems if you were to use such a device. It would totally mess up your brain signals, causing internal connections that shouldn't have been made to do MAAAJOR damage to your body, it would most certainly kill you, if you were to be that lucky.
A lot of phones have wireless charging through the use of copper coils. Couldn't it be understandable that by the year 2150, we'll be able to increase the distance that the coils can charge things from and be able to wirelessly charge all of the bots? I know in the movie, there was no mention of something like this, but it could be an easier way of allowing the bots to last for more than a couple of minutes.
No. Not without seriously bumbing up the power use of the transmitter to dangerous levels. It's a problem with the inverse square law. Attenuation of power is relative to the distance of the thing you want to charge. There *have* been improvements where you have a directional antenna pointed to the object you have to power, but even then there are actual physical limits. At least if we are using RF or magnetism.
the problem with wireless chargers is, if brought up to a large enough scale, will cook you alive. There harmless on the scale there at now, but to cover an area the size of city, you'd start killing people in a few hours.
BUUT, scientists say AI will probably be around in between 50 and 125 years, and the fact that in this 150 year future technology can perfectly tell what a human brain is thinking is a rather chilling thought
lincoln pepper Because that means it will be able to read and respond to your subconscious thoughts. All your fears, anxieties, prejudices, intrusive homicidal impulses and disgusting fetishes could potentially be read by these robots and interpreted as a command to act.
ometta7 It’s not that, that’s the most dangerous. Imagine never having a secret again, with businesses, repressive governments, or simple criminal; using it to stifle discourse, stop any bad press against them, or blackmail you. A quick scan, of say an imprisoned human rights lawyer, and now they have everything they ever wanted on that person. A repressive Government could actually read their fears, to make the torture a personal hell. Or, getting scanned against your will, and now all your secrets are theirs for the taking. Now, they have everything they need to blackmail you. Or ruin your life, if you are on the opposite end of the political spectrum from them.
Ugh, imagine how high the demand would be for memory loss devices, it would be horrible, and it could cause so many deaths in wars (revealing position, strategy, where the leader is, etc)
Matpat: The future is today! Me: ...Anyone else notice how the timelapse of the demonstration of the swarm Bots irl said 11 hours to make the simple formations?
Even the battery situation could be sorted out though (and was Hiro’s primary innovation anyway). Because his robots work with magnets, which is why they are even able to work together as they do in the first place, they can run subsystems working with each other that allows them to recharge or simply keep the battery charged on the fly. The headband would need batteries though. And as for Baymax, he is a semi-sentient drone running massive amounts of data at any given time AND running a complex body frame that mimics a human. The Microbots are much more well suited to long term usage simply because they follow a few orders, not actually running any major systems of their own. Tl;dr the Microbots are well suited to long term use thanks to the magnets and possible ability to recharge with them. Baymax is basically a super advanced robot ai, and would drain his battery faster as well as need a massive battery just to function.
of course, in the movie you don't see them charging on the fly - so no, it is not possible. Besides, interdimensional portals? You know that is not really very possible.
i was just gonna say that since they're small the concentration wouldn't matter too much since it's not going to do much even if damaged the reason why battery technology hasn't improved much isn't because we can't concentrate more power it's that we don't want to because it's too much of a risk with the more energy stored the more potential energy which if pierced would release it rapidly but due to the size not much will be stored either way allowing for more lenient safety restrictions as well as it's not being mass produced on a consumer market allowing for even more dangerous amounts of concentrated energy or some bullshit like that lmao
This made me realize how, in movies that take place in the far future, so many cultural elements are still the same as today and would certainly have been outdated by then. I guess the movie gets away with it because it doesn’t focus on the culture all that much. (But when a future movie focus more on the change in technology, it just feels like a parallel universe instead of a foreseeable future)
The way you best could do this is have each robot store an id, then have a mother board somewhere else which will sort through each robot and give them separate positions to coordinate the requested motion, using the id as a way to specify which robot is needed. This is an edit, it just occurred to me that the mind reading device could be the "Motherboard."
Mia Rose What I wanna know is why it’s a big deal that hero created the micro bots when they look like smaller versions of the robot fighter he uses which seems to be capable of the same things
DiamondBolt And how did he know that the micro bots would be strong enough to save him from falling debris and have enough heat resistance to keep him from burning. And when you think about it, he either just decided to burn down the building after seeing Hero’s bots in action or was already planning on burning down the building
@@Frankly_Amazing2000 he seen the bots move hiro around, which explains how he knew they would protect him from the falling debris (if they can move a boy around and themselves, they most likely can hold up debris). He seen the bots build something (which requires heat) and knows they are made of an at least somewhat heat resistant material, which explains how he knew they would protect him from the fire.
Okay, as an electrical and computer engineer, I have to fight you on the point that microbots have happened in this day and age on par with the ones in Big Hero Six. To have the ability to move and function in the same manner as shown in the movie, they would need to have a motor and a method of generating an electric field dynamically. While this maybe be possible in 2152, we are far from getting there today due to the relative size of the machinery described above. The idea of a mechanical bee and its implications on modern robotics is rather interesting, however, and thank you for bringing it to my attention. Kind Regards
I cant believe noone has answered this for a year. Yes, they could share energy to charge eachother. Made right they could also capture kinetic energy in some of them and share it with the others.
Actually it would be easier to just have an extremely long lasting and powerful battery and place that in a single micro it as the electricity would transfer over like u said but more effeciently than relying on kinetic or potential gravitational energy .

Can you do a theory on the psycolological and physical damage Harry would have after living with the Dursleys? Being locked in a cabinet and only coming out at night to get food has to have some sort of effect on your health. Harry had no friends and pretty much was told that he was useless.

Dear MatPat, Stephanie, Austin, Gaijin Goombah and any and all other members of the Game Theorists that I forgot/don't know about,
Hi! It's me!
Sincerely,
Isaac.
P.S. I realize that it’s unlikely that this will get noticed in the UA-cam comments, but I’m not on any social media sites and I don’t know the GT email address, so this is my only chance. If anyone can help me I would be IMMENSELY appreciative. Thanks.

Me watching this in 2021 : ........ .
When Hiro asked his brother (been so long i forgot his name) what type of battery does Baymax use he said it uses Lithium ion,
then Hiro replied "Supercapacitors would be great"
Take note that Supercapacitors are a real thing. even when they have less power than Lithium ion, they can be charged instantly
or you can just add some solar panels so that the supercapacitor would stay charged.
The REAL problems are:
1. We don't know how much power does a nanobot consume so possibly the supercapacitors would be drained almost instantly
and overwhelm the charge of the solar panel by the discharge it needs for it to function
2. We don't know if we have the proper material for nanobots. In the movie, we see that the nanobots stack up really high and
support heavy objects and if we tried to replicate it the material used for nanobots can possibly break, not to mention that the material has to be magnetic for it to work and since metals are the only thing that has that ability, too bad it's also heavy so when the nanobots would stack up high, the nanobots' structure would collapse under their own weight
3. The nanobots need a very strong electromagnet in order for it to stick to each other and to support the weight of the structures they made
4. We have to make the functioning components of a nanobot to be reaaaalllly tiny since the only place to put it is the core for
optimal performance. You have to squeeze a strong raw motor in for the nanobot's mobility, a strong electromagnet, a receiver for the neural interface, wires for the components to connect and a supercapacitor.
I'm really starting to think on how Hiro made it.
His name is Tadashi
Does anyone here remember the Matrix? The robots use humans like generators, because our brains naturally generate electricity.

the most impressive technology in the movie the portal to a different dimension, not these ripoff-replicators
But hey, that's just a theory

He could use electro waves to charge remotely the microbots, using the same battery as the neurotransmisor, but the real cuestion her is ¿it is safe to have a battery of 70,000 volts attached to your head?
Having an electrical wave transmitted from the same device that is supposed to read electrical waves will cause major interference with reading your brain signals. But, that would be the least of your problems if you were to use such a device. It would totally mess up your brain signals, causing internal connections that shouldn't have been made to do MAAAJOR damage to your body, it would most certainly kill you, if you were to be that lucky.
What about creating special areas designed to power the boots in specific areas. Like a contact phone charger on a much larger scale.
Uhm "Something that allows you to charge your phone even farther" is called

I think it’s possible. Plus they wouldn’t necessarily have to be far distances. Perhaps the trash cans they are in can also be used as chargers.

BUUT, scientists say AI will probably be around in between 50 and 125 years, and the fact that in this 150 year future technology can perfectly tell what a human brain is thinking is a rather chilling thought
why?
lincoln pepper Because that means it will be able to read and respond to your subconscious thoughts.

Stupid idiot
Why does none every check the date
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 that took a while for you to figure that out
Even the battery situation could be sorted out though (and was Hiro’s primary innovation anyway).
Bro
Energy is energy, you have to recharge those microbots. Unless they can steal energy from around them (change their own batteries sort of speak).
of course, in the movie you don't see them charging on the fly - so no, it is not possible.
Your smart
I clicked REALLY fast.
Never clicked faster!

The real question is, the fact that the neurotransmitter has to be made to suit your brain waves so how was he able to steal it and use it
Mia Rose What I wanna know is why it’s a big deal that hero created the micro bots when they look like smaller versions of the robot fighter he uses which seems to be capable of the same things
Reverse engineered the head piece
Yeah.... in a burning building.... which is where he was first shown to use it.
Could nanobots share a massive “hive battery” if they’re made of a conductive metal?
I cant believe noone has answered this for a year. Yes, they could share energy to charge eachother. Made right they could also capture kinetic energy in some of them and share it with the others.
Actually it would be easier to just have an extremely long lasting and powerful battery and place that in a single micro it as the electricity would transfer over like u said but more effeciently than relying on kinetic or potential gravitational energy .
Matpat you ignored the fact that they can BUILD TOWERS out of thin AIR
