Reason why Noah (Gibby) isn’t coming back is because he was fat shamed and bully by writers and fans and that took a toll on him personally, Jennette (Sam) isn’t coming back because of childhood trauma she faced from the show itself and Dan let me take you to the van Schneider
Dan "hold her down tighter, cuz we got a fighter" Schneider.
Fat shamed as a kid, not too different from my story. I could have been part of the dance troupe, but people laughed at me when I dance, maybe because my body fat jiggled as I danced.
And then other people get shocked when I dance at mandatory school group events because I could keep up with the routine (and I never trip up on folk dance).
@@Mageman17 Fat people usually dance pretty good, while thin people are a lot more uncoordinated. Probably because nervous system needs fat, sugar an protein in enough quatinties to develop. 🤷
I liked the kid. That really sucks that he was picked on.
@@JimBz84 the Dan Schneider jokes will always be great.
I feel like Freddie should’ve been the one that became rich and Spencer should be divorced with a step child. Spencer always dated in the original show and was trying to get with someone, meanwhile Freddie is very smart and was considered a prodigy.
Reality VS Fiction
Fr!!
A lot of the time the “slackers” get their act together and grow while the “prodigies” get stuck when everyone else catch up and surpass them. Alex even mentions this in the episode.
Prodigies and geniuses don't usually make it in real life unless we start a business. Most of the people in HR are not interested in offering a job to those who can understand their entire project and make everything work better. And if you do get in, it's usually for handling monotonous tasks.
That makes sense !!!
I respect Jennette and Noah's decision to turn down the opportunity to go back to the reboot, but it just feels empty and bland without them. They just added spice to the shop
That's more the fault of the writers than anything else. They went in knowing they didn't have their two most interesting characters, and did nothing to replace them.
It’s probably because people were posting screen shots of Gibby with his shirt off on weird websites
@@therealboomshlamian700 GIBBY
I agree. Why did they both quit? I am so sorry that I am asking this but I want to know
@@bhavanijayant526well they didn’t quit, they just didn’t want to come back. Honestly, if makes sense, says someone who has no idea what happens behind the scenes, aka me lol.
We all knew the show was just a cheap attempt to grab money and nothing more. The story is gonna be uninspiring. The original show was targeted at kids and maybe teens, so it also makes sense why seasoned actors wouldn’t wanna come back. Especially now that it seems that the show isn’t even for kids anymore and is just making weird references to internet memes
i’m kind of disappointed how they made freddie’s new character so unsuccessful. He was legitimately the most gifted character in the whole icarly series and the fact that he just ends living with his mom again is so lame. It makes the writers seem lazy that they didn’t take into account his past and his gift with technology. Now he’s dumbed down with an annoying step daughter who he can’t control.
YESSSS
Honestly this is how people in this age bracket live. I am only in my early 30s yet know of soooo many people who are older than me who still live at home. Younger people as well who are 22+
I think they did that in order to show that it can be like that sometimes. Things don’t always work out the way you want them or you’re not where you think you’re going to be by the time you get to a certain age. I hope it’s so to also set-up that he’ll get back up on his feet during the show at some point. Also, on a side-note, not a huge fan of the step-daughter. I agree with the people who have been saying she should’ve been a side character or not included at all. 🤷♀️
Have you ever heard the tale of the burnt-out gifted kid? It's not a story the education system would tell you
Maybe they choose that to make his character grown more into this revival. They will maybe show us how he will become famous again and live a better life
Is anyone gonna point out how Jerry Trainor hasn't aged a single fucking day? He's the only one who looks exactly how I remember him.

If he was happy and successful (like he is in real life, wife and kid included) there wouldn't be any reason for him to be in the show
I really haste how Freddie is the failure with two divorces, living with his overbearing mother, and with a daughter that's a brat. Not saying he needs to be a billionaire or anything but given how popular ICarly was he'd be able to get a good job. If they wanted the 'humor' with his mom maybe he let her live with him because he needs help taking care of his daughter.
Also.....the show didn't feel near as fun tbh. It was missing something. Hard to pinpoint but it felt kinda bland.
I have to say. One of the hardest things about watching TV today is the social media lifestyle thats so engrained within it. From everyone being "an influencer" to talking about "liked" now this "we're making a channel together" its just TOO much. This is why shows with settings in the 80's and 90's are big because they leave that out. Ah, better times.

@@DemonLordSpardathe og iCarly is much better than the revival
There are so many "Hey Kids! (who are really adults now), Remember This??" shows now. This and Fuller House are two prime examples.
They all fall into the uncanny valley between beloved previous show with recognisable characters/tropes/memes and a new property that can stand solid on its own.
Ultimately they wind up being neither so they just peter out as failed exercises in nostalgia.

Yeah. That was the humor at the time; loud, random, chaotic. Like "Fred". And by the time Sam and Cat aired, that kind of humor was fading away. Yet again, I can't picture iCarly without it and i think that's a big reason why it didn't really need a reboot.

Ok quick disturbing fact: when shows have laugh tracks the laughs were recorded in the 1950s so when you hear the laughs you are most likely hearing the laughs of people who are dead.
That's the case everytime you watch a movie with a now dead actor.
Your original video on old iCarly got me to go back and watch it all. I really find it to bee such a great show. Some jokes or gags are comedy gold.
I won’t lie Spencer is the best part of this reboot. Every scene he’s in is hilarious.
I know right? It would fall apart without him
I haven't even seen it and I trust your observation. He was a great element of the original, so I could just see him being even more fun in this one.
i always felt like jerry trainor has great comedic timing and could've easily been this generations' jim carrey, but unfortunately he never really ventured out :(
The salt will neutralize the pepper spray!
Let's be honest. That's just Spencer in iCarly as a whole
Actually iCarly makes kind off sense with how popular influencers are nowadays
It does actually and I'd honestly really like the continuation to document carly's wedding perhaps to Freddie and the two of them eventually starting the transition into a family UA-cam channel after a few seasons. Freddie could possibly also have a crisis regarding his masculinity while married to carly and he could try to get his own content on carly's channel that very performative masculine and shit he could even go jake paul and do celebrity boxing just to prove to carly , Spencer, his step daughter, and his mom that he can be a traditional provider, be strong as a man , stand on his own two feet, handle the pressures of the spotlight, successful at something, and be society's definition of a man rather than create his own definition for manhood. Carly through this arc can help him see that he doesn't need to change into something that hes not but instead be the Freddie she grew up with and the valiant , golden hearted, and self sacrificing Freddie that saved her from that taco truck in the original series instead for not just her but his daughter rather than just preform.

Yeah but back when it was on Nickelodeon social media wasn't as developed and it was new and refreshing to see a show about an influencer. But now when every second person on the Internet claims to be an influencer (that girl in the show with 2 subscribers) it loses its charm because now Carly's one of billions of "old" UA-camrs who quit in 2010 and now try to come back capitalize on gen alpha. The only thing it's got going for it is the name "iCarly". If you look at it it's a show about a millenial UA-camr for millennial, and it just doesn't work

As much as I respect Jeanette McCurdy's decision, I honestly watched iCarly because of Sam and Seddie's dynamics. Miranda is a vampire. She doesn't change a bit since Drake and Josh, just more mature voice.
Sam and Spencer should have a show together. Also, it should take off after the events of _Sam and Cat._
Actually I would love for them to have Josh and Crazy Steve from _Drake and Josh_ as side characters. Drake would be in jail for some reason since they wouldn’t be able to cast Drake Bell (or Jared Bell 🙄).
no the worst.
Seddie had no dynamic 💀it was so forced between them into looking like they can be a couple
I watched all the episodes of this the other day and i loved it, and from some pictures on the icarly instagram, were getting a second season, so im happy
If they made iCarly's UA-cam channel an actual thing and the tv show was a joint program with the UA-cam channel, now that would have been interesting
That would actually be pretty cool ngl
There an english show called Inside no 9, they did a live Halloween special and the actors actually lived tweeted so it was super cool.
skam does something like this where the actors all have character instagrams!
In the original show they did something like that, but Miranda Cosgrove almost never appeared on those webvideos (the in-universe excuse was that she was the camera operator when they filmed outside the appartament)
This is actually a great idea
This show feels like they wrote the episodes for kids, and then they thought "You know what, let's make this more adult by adding sexual references and pop culture from god knows what time!!!!!"
Edit: Wow, this is the most likes I've gotten for a dumb comment.
Well: ua-cam.com/video/foSrl_RDo4o/v-deo.html
Yeah I know
it wasnt written for kids tho it was written for the people who grew up with icarly
lol no it wasn't, it was written for the millennials who used to watch this show with pop culture references that most of the ones who paid attention to that stuff will understand. Not everyone's cup of tea however it is definitely not written for kids.
Thats what they are going for. They want it to feel like the old show but aimed at adults.
Fans remember the show being like this when it was on so that is how they will act
There's a difference between a show ageing up with its audience and trying to make a kid's show "mature and edgy." The new ICarly is the latter.
"I'm just holding the door for...your girlfriend?"
"I'm single."
" *slams door* "
Ok that got me pretty good, not gonna lie.
I always assumed that Carly and Spencer‘s dad just paid for the apartment while he was overseas
He did
Carly doesn’t live there anymore, so and Spencer’s on his feet again so he pays for it now
He did. I think Spencer was lying about still going to law school and took the tuition money to pay for the apt which makes sense since college is expensive.

I don't mind the new show except that Carly's web show doesn't seem that much different from when she was a child, and I don't understand why she'd be doing the same thing as an adult. 🤷♀️
yeah, -10points for creativity it’s not very interesting to watch
but +1000points for realism bc “millennial youtuber making the same content for 10 years” feels depressingly accurate
I think skincare stuff is a little more mature than the idiot farm girl tho
I'm not near her age but I did grew up with iCarly and idk, would I find funny what she did back then nowadays? no. but "mature" content now is really dumb to make a show about so I really rather for her to keep on doing same old stuff with the humor of an adult
Markaplier is kinda doing the same sorta stuff lol
Cuz she’s an “entrepreneur”
The thing with iCarly is that Sam was the star of the show. Sam was to iCarly what Sheldon was to The Big Bang Theory.
They should've gone with the mockumentary formula instead of the sitcom laugh track thing.
Paramount Plus basically copied Disney Plus' homework without realizing Disney copied Apple TV's homework
Why is that so true
Well they must've tired of signing contracts with other companies for their film to be put in other streaming service so they made their own. Besides before Paramount+ it was called CBS All Access, they just changed its name, that streaming service have exists before Disney+ even exists. So it was Disney+ who copied Paramount+'s homework
No literally i actually thought that disney and paramount were connected for the fact that their sign up page is the same and when i day this i mean it they nust copied them so bad
All those streaming sites probably copied Netflix's success.
Lol.
I just hate how in your face they are with the “their adults now!” “look they’re drinking because it’s not a kids show anymore because we’re all adults!” I’d rather have a reboot of Ned’s Declassified and learn what the hack I’m supposed to be doing with my life.
Same! I would love a reboot of Ned’s Declassified! Not sure how they would do it tho
Breezy the actors are on board. Devon Werkheiser said that the creators aren’t willing to do it. So he’s doing some survival tips on his TikTok. Not the same as an adult version of the show, but i know he’s trying. I remember in 5th grade I had a notebook full of the tips from the show.

I think its her maturity more than anything. Sam wasn't there to hype Carly up, she was already naturally like that without Sam. Same with Freddie. They were both more energetic on the original show and I think it's gone in this reboot because in reality, the show has different writers, but narratively, they're just older.

I kinda like that Sam isn’t there for the revival, I feel like Carly trying to see if she can do the web show on her own makes for a more interesting story arc for her to go through in the series. Sam brought so much to the show, so her not being there is a big loss that Carly will have to deal with
Yeah Sam was such a good character and seeing her not here was interesting to me
@Charizard Ketchum i mean if we are serious Freddy started icarly, he even come up with the name
I agree! It’s sad that the show was only 3 episodes (as of now) because we really don’t see Carly navigating the web show on her own.
@@Lostinmyhead23 There will be new episodes every Thursday

@Selin Schmidt oh gosh, EROLD COME BACK- (eh at least we have yearly vids)
Omg Zacharyzaxor too.....he just started making videos again and most of his fans stayed to watch his new content.
JCS - Criminal Psychology: well hello there!
UA-cam animators be like that though. At least he hasn't disappeared for half a year like Shgurr has :/
I can respect Jennette McCurdy's decision to quit acting, but this iCarly re-hash was doomed without her.
Yeah, Miranda was the straight man to her goofball.
@@thelastdadonearth That's true. For me, I must admit that I cared more about the character of Miranda than Carly. I always felt they had mixed up either the casting or the choice of lead character.
but it did good
yeah jennette carried the entire show
she really suffered doing icarly
How has alex mastered the art of having the animated versions of characters look nothing like their counterparts yet still potray exactly who they are? Like carley's animated hairstyle is nothing like her irl one.
i loved when he said carly’s starting to feel alittle tingle in the jingle 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣. pls keep making commentary on this new and “improved” show. i’m 24 now i remember this show fairly but seeing it now. all of us grown up lmaoo WTF.
Harper is a great addition to iCarly, I thought she’d be the typical female black best friend trope. She’s funny and just feels more important, I have high hopes that she’ll have her own unique individual storylines too
But she's still written as a very stereotypical black female, which is just odd. It feels like no one knows how to write for these characters without turning them into stereotypes.
eh but i dint get how the writers want a bunch of diversity in the show but make harper the stereotypical loud and sassy black girl
@@coachswag8956 Not to mention the bisexual one. I swear every show does this. EVERY SINGLE ONE
i just don’t like how they force her to have some weird tension witj spencer 😕… 20 year age gap CAN ABTONE HEAR ME
@@ninja_tony I found myself cringing at some of her scenes because they kept giving her “black girl lines” 🙄
Carly did the Interesting part that she did in Drake and Josh
Hello Checkmark
They did it so now they can wrap up the show
*What part was that?*
i must see that
Please, where? When? What episode?
" you'll never guess what happens" ( commercial dino licking my screen vehemently)
Your comedic timing is awesome 😂
This show feels like a bad iCarly fanfic.
Thanks to Alex I can say I finished the first episode, I couldn't finish it on my own, this show is like a poor mixture of the OG iCarly and Seinfeld.
It’s high key pretty funny for me to be fair I was high asf but just take yourself less seriously it’s a kids show Turning into something else this hasn’t been done before so give them credit

LITERALLY BRO 😭😭😭
Remember when Carly stole a frozen head to blackmail a company that was stealing from her

Frozen head of Charles Dingo right?? 😂😂😂 Spencer and Freddie stole it.....not Carly
@@4deleDaz33m true. But Carly still tried to use it to blackmail them.

I don't think I watched that episode.
@@justinbuergi9867 she's not actually going to blackmail them, Carly, Sam, Freddie and Spencer used the Dingo head just to threat them to not using some iCarly stuff in their Dingo channel anymore. Then at the end Sam make the Dingo people to do the bikini dog food fight 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“An 8th grader on RiverDale” 🤣 Freddie looks rough, lol

I hear dead people crying laughing etc
I want to watch the rest of this entire series.. but ONLY the Alex Commentary version. 🤣
Because it’s a kids show trying to be an adult show. This is the one nickelodeon live action show besides Zoey 101 that actually got a series finale it’s not bad that they brought it back it’s just they’re trying to make an adult. Lizzie McGuire would’ve worked because she wasn’t doing the exact same things that she was doing in the original show it’s a different show but still about her the show is the same things they were doing 10 years ago.
miranda needs to stream on twitch it only makes sense 🤷♀️
yeah
Bro she should like she would fucking blow up and can prob make more money then this shitty reboot
@@uncomfortabletruths7990 this reboot prolly got her paid over a million she used to be the highest paided female child actor she don’t need money and even if she did she would make wayyyyy more with the reboot than twitch lmao plus most people who use twitch are all basement dwellers you think they care about iCarly lmao
Fr
Gold Rush lmao nahh i’ve seen so many already famous people try and be cool and young and stream on twitch and they get like 10k viewers the first time, and then after that, if they stream again, and get like 1k after.
I feel as iCarly didn’t deserve a reboot because the OG iCarly explains everything that happens online nowadays.
Exactly
Eh
i think the word you are looking for is need not deserve. because the show is great enough to deserve one but it’s uncalled for
I hope they don't reboot Victorious
@@sagetheassassin3192 i hope they don’t either. If anything, it deserves a last episode.
Unsure of how it’s going to play out if that ever happens.

Ayo less go dababy ur cool I watch u some times but schraffrillas is better
The reboot concept itself isn't that bad, but the show feels really stiff. Some of the changes I noticed the most, was the lack of ambient/score music during the scenes, that used to give a big emphasis to some parts of the dialogue, not to mention the transitions it used to have in the old version, I know editing styles are not the same nowadays, but that gave a lot of vibrance to the show, now it's just a normal guitar riff, like if it was Friends or something similar. There's just a lack of vibrance, I know sam's absence is notorious, but the show could be better even without her character. Also, the lighting in the show seems darker, but way darker, and less saturated compared to the first version, I don't know if this is a way to make the show feel more mature, but it also reduces it's vibrance.
this is EXACTLY how ive felt about it and you explained it so perfectly
I honestly kind of miss the original bright vivid wacky layout and set. I know it may not be as “mature” but like... spencer is a crazy artist. I always thought it made sense to be tacky, LOL
Another thing that really ruins it is the incredibly lazy exposition of everything that’s been going on in the character’s lives. The conversation between Freddie and spencer was terrible, humans don’t talk like that. Any backstory they want to give they just have the character say some line about it in the most simple and generic way possible, and it just sounds so awkward. It’s like a kids’ show but the ones for really little kids that hold your hand and explain every single thing. They could have thought of some better ways to tell the audience these things. It’s just lazy and bad writing. Another thing that you can’t get around is that the acting is just bad. Every line is awkward. Even Jerry Trainor who was amazing in the original show just seems off. It’s bad dialogue with bad delivery, there’s really nothing good I can say about it
The jokes are too forced. It sounds like a bunch of 40 year old people making jokes to match “gen z humour”
The lighting could also just be your tv/their camera equipment like better mor advanced technology
I find it hilarious that you used the picture you use of Spencer is him with no neck
The show is called Icarly but in the 11 episodes that aired, I’m fairly certain she only actually streamed her “Icarly” show 3-4 times throughout the entirety of season 1.
They start off the season acting like it’s gonna be a big deal and then boom nothing happens..also the light heartedness of it sort of disappeared and it’s widely political now
Their biggest mistake was rebooting a kids show into an "adult" show. And why would Freddie have two divorces when he's only, what, 26? Not staying it's impossible, just really hard to pull off.
Go meet someone in the military 😂I know dudes married like 3 times by 30
My brother did that lmao
Just some bullshit that the writers came up with in a few minutes. Not like it matters though, no one's going to want 3 episodes about a character's backstory in a sitcom
Clearly no one learned from Saved By The Bell: The College Years (only lasted one year).
Lol my pen pal friend has been married and divorced with 2 kids and she's 24. She's getting married again I think too.
