Alex Russo is easily one of the best characters Disney Channel has ever created. To me, she seemed sooo different from anyone else at the time, obviously excluding the magic aspect. Like, I don’t know how to explain it. The whole dynamic of the show was just different.
Also, I’ve never understood the whole “someone spills a drink on you now you look like you peed yourself” thing??? Even as a child I’ve never thought that was funny or realistic. Like, if I’m walking around with a giant wet mark all the way down my front, which I’ve done, obviously I did not pee myself. Who would keep walking around if that were the case?! 🙄
I loved Alex because she was so different from the stereotypical main character in a Disney show that’s living in the suburbs in a nice house with a perfect family and guys flocking at her feet cause she’s so nice and perfect. Alex was not that at all she was petty and a selfish teenager who argues with her brothers and gets into fights with her family. Her character was just so much more realistic to what an actual human being is like especially with the whole Gigi thing where she took one more jab at her which you see in other shows but not often and usually they need to do something really bad for the character to snap.

Yeah, this, along with Good Luck Charlie, are they only kiddie shows I could really enjoy watching with my niece. The writing and execution for 'Alex' was really pretty good. Normally kid networks simply raise their voice and over-exaggerate their words and call it acting.

I think this is questionable. As a black woman, I definitely relate to Penny Proud more than any character Disney has ever created. The whole show was spot on concerning black culture. Alex was still awesome, but she was not very relatable to me.

@@evehellod9776 Nothing *really* crazy happened. The show just got more serious arcs revolving around their magic. It started around season 3 if I remember correctly. It featured a lot more critical moments in the show and actual continuation of plots which imo we rarely see in Disney sitcoms.

That’s why when you’re 18 you don’t need to decide what you want to do for the rest of your life. Graduating from high school really doesn’t mean anything in the long run. It doesn’t mean you need to know exactly what you want to do at that moment. I got really sick at the end of high school and had to basically write off my last year. They still let me graduate. I had big dreams of being a doctor or scientist but in the state I was in I couldn’t go to University. I felt like I had lost everything and had no future. I was very wrong. There is a whole life to live after you graduate. Don’t put that kind of pressure on yourself, learn to love yourself and do what makes you happy. You’ll find your way. Like Alex I am in my thirties and finally feel like I am where I am supposed to be.
Wizards of Waverly Place was amazing. The first episode was a little immature, and a lot of Season 1 tbh, but it got so good, and the movie was one of Disney Channel’s best ever. Alex and Justin’s relationship is one of my favorite sibling relationships ever.

The Wizards movie is easily the best film adaptation of a Disney Channel show, it should've been the one to get a theatrical release, NOT the Hannah Montana movie. Also in terms of Disney Channel sibling dynamics, Justin and Alex r 2nd to Ren and Louis from Even Stevens (if u haven't watched that show, check it out)

Welp, that’s what she gets for lacking personality so she could become well-remembered (although Disney did come up with worse alpha bitches like Tess Tyler in Camp Rock 1 & 2: The First & Final Jams, Bonnie Rockweller in Kim Possible (a show I love but a movie I hate), Audrey from the Descendants trilogy and Lexi Reed in ANT Farm, for example.).
I absolutely loved this show as a kid. In 2008 I had to help my grandma out after a surgery and stayed at her house so every day when this show came on we'd watch it together. Weirdly she thought it was one of the funniest things she'd ever seen 😂

Also in this it started in 2007 and ended 2012 and by the end of wizards they had grown with relationships and drama and plots with more meaning and by the time victorious came out in 2010 the kids watching wizards for a few years would be also old enough to watch victorious which is a little more grown then the older episodes of wizards
