We're fast approaching the 20th Terraria news video for 1.4.5... wow. I just wanted to take a moment and say how grateful to everyone who tunes into these. Putting these videos together is the absolute highlight of my day and I feel super lucky to share that passion with all of you lot! I've been making Terraria news videos for over 10 years now, and I never get tired of making them. Since we've had a LOT to talk about recently I've been trying to match the frequency of spoilers videos recently, as in more spoilers = longer videos rather than like 2-3 shorter videos, hopefully, y'all like that approach!

4:52 the green "goop" on that stuff seems to be identical to the texture of "the barnacle" skill from dead cells. upon using it it summons a green barnacle sentry that sticks to a nearby wall/ceiling (or just floats mid air if there aren't any walls) and shoots at nearby enemies.
so it's most likely a new sentry for summoners.

My predictions for the other tracks:
If we’re getting exactly 5, and we have one for The Twins, one of them may be for Skeletron Prime, one for The Destroyer, and the other two could be night time Crimson/Corruption
I think the destroyers theme is really good already. It sounds like the destroyer is constantly moving and retracting with a gears

honestly i really want Skeletron to have it's own music track, hes such an impactful boss that opens a huge new avenue of progression, and as much as i love boss 1, having a standalone music track would be amazing
I think the issue with that is that his fight usually goes so quickly it would have to be a pretty short song most likely

What I find even more interesting regarding the torch luck spoiler, is the fact that it was recorded in the dungeon. Currently bone torches don't provide extra luck in the dungeon, which I hope is no longer the case in the next update

I think EoC, EoW, and Skeletron should keep Boss 1. It only makes sense since they are the og and most iconic bosses.

I REALLY love the thought of the Moonlord watching your journey (In your 1.4 stream, the Moonlord flashed with lightning strike and it would make a cool feature, maybe even other ways too)
The currently shared boss themes are Boss 1-4, so there's plenty of opportunities to make new tracks:
- Boss 1 is shared by King Slime, EoC, EoW, Skeletron, and Skeletron Prime
- Boss 2 is shared by WoF and the Twins _(obviously been confirmed that the Twins have a new track)_
- Boss 3 is shared by BoC, Frost Legion, the Destroyer, and the Torch God
- Boss 4 is shared by Golem and the Lunatic Cultist
umm ackshully queen bee's theme is called boss 4 and golem/cultist is boss 5
i'd absolutely love for torch god to get a new theme ngl

I feel like Lunatic Cultist will get their own theme. It’s the only post Plant boss that has another bosses theme
Unless Wall of Flesh gets a new track, you can just get a music box and record the track, then play it during your Twins fight. There's no need for an option to switch to Boss 2.
They wouldn't get rid of such an iconic track. Given that they brought the tutorial and alternate ocean music from legacy console editions and legacy mobile over to all versions, along with otherworld's entire soundtrack, they wouldn't phase out boss 2.

Wall of Flesh definitely isn't getting a new track.
Not only is Boss 2 already meant for it, if they changed the Wall of Flesh's theme, that would *completely* remove Boss 2 from the game. It'd make more sense to just rename it to Wall of Flesh than remove it entirely

Yeah I was about to say BUT WAIT how is it on???? Or is it deactivating the shimmer affect I get confused how monoliths work ik they cause the area to look like Aether but I forget how they work when another Aether effect is in affect

@@glareninja the Aether Monolith has three states. Inactive, Active, and a visually active state that doesn't actually cause the Aether effect.

The new music for the twins feels a little slow paced for a boss fight that involves one of the fastest moving bosses in the game
People are anticipating that all 3 mech bosses will be getting their own track, however, Boss 3 already matches the Destroyer pretty well, with it's mighty, intimidating theme. I think the Brain of Cthulhu, who also uses Boss 3, should get their own theme with motifs to the crimson theme.
100%, boss 3 fits brain about as well as the mushroom theme does 💀
@@fortnitesexmani mean, I get it's supposed to be imposing and have that same intimidatingly horrifying effect of crimson music, but at the same time, yeah, it fits about as well as the mushroom theme. The brain needs a less techno theme, and more beats and bass like the crimson has, as well as icky noises. I think it'd be pretty neat if such a theme even had a heartbeat in the background to represent the crimson struggling to fight you and pulsating more then usual.
Since the new twins theme sounds a lot more mechanical now (which is very fitting), the other mech bosses surely also have to be getting new music, right?

Prime needs a new track and I hope they give him one, he is the only hardmode boss using boss 1 and it doesn't feel right

While I think the new track for the twins is very fitting and sounds amazing. I kinda feel like its missing what made boss 2 fight on the twins in the first place. The tension and rushed feeling you get from boss 2 is amplified by facing two fast bosses at once. It feels like you are surviving an onslaught of danger. But perhaps it will grow on me when I get to the fight myself in the future.
There should definitely be a track for the Lunatic Cultist, as he has the same track as Golem
When I saw the spoiler with the Torches getting converted, my immediate thought was that it was related to The Torch God. The beams even look similar to the beams in The Torch God event, and this could be a new feature of Torch God's Favour. If it is, I'm all for it.

The Twins theme is an absolute banger, I'm so glad my favorite Mech boss got some love
This update really does seem like the final cracks in the game getting filled. A bit more music to fill in moments that deserve unique tracks, a couple more weapons to fill in progression, a couple of blocks that really should exist existing.
would still like to see some reworks for certain bosses like deerclops, or of course, queen slime

The twins are great! I'm very hopeful for night themes for the snow and desert biomes!
For alternatives, it'd be neat if they threw a wrench in the formula and they make alternatives to the jungle/desert. I'd love to see them make a swamp biome and badlands biome even if they're just mini biomes. Maybe with new trees with them like mangroves and junipers.

The fact that they’re adding even more because the update will take longer is just amazing. I don’t care how long they take, if they need extra time to make it better then I’m happy to wait. Quality over quantity

I’m hoping more than anything they add the capability to equip the flying carpet as a vanity for wings or hoverboards. I love the look of the flying carpet and using it late game is hard to justify when it’s thoroughly outclassed.

I’ve got a feeling that the new skeleton NPC that Red said appeared “near the dungeon mysteriously” might be an easier way to rematch Skeletron. Its design reminds me of the Clothier and the fact that it’s a skeleton that appears NEAR the dungeon seems to support this.
I wonder how it would fit in the lore, here's my idea: After the skeletron fight, The Old Man and The Curse has been separated into two beings, One of them is the former human (who is the clothier), and the other is the skeleton (A living avatar of the course).
If Red is gonna add counterparts for biomes, I would like the Void for the underworld counterpart, the
Confection for the Hallow counterpart.
The Void is basically a place where with no light source whatsoever. And all naturally generated blocks and walls in that biome will not allow the placement of any light source on them, so you either need to replace blocks/walls or hold a torch. The Confection is, if you dont know basically a place made up of desserts.
Sorta like Hollow Knight's abyss?
for around 4:51 i think that the new weapon could be a sentry for the barnacle in dead cells but idk for sure
Here's my prediction for what the other four new music tracks will be (assuming they aren't all new boss themes, which is definitely a possibility):
-A Hallow night theme. Currently being in the Hallow at night plays the standard surface night theme
-Either a Blood Moon or Meteor biome theme. Both play "Eerie" currently, which is a sort of vestige from when Eerie was used in every "spooky" location
-A Lunatic Cultist boss theme. Right now he just reuses Golem's
-A unique theme for one of the bosses that use Boss 1. Probably either King Slime or EoW.
I think skeleton prime uses boss 1 as well

@@bobosaurus331 Prime does too, but so does regular Skeletron, so I can see both of them continuing to share a theme. Plus King Slime and EoW are probably the bosses that Boss 1 fits with least.
Though it is also possible that all three mech bosses will get their own themes. That's another possibility.
I wish that all the bosses sharing a theme, get their own unique theme. Though this will most likely not happen, just wishful thinking.
3 of them are guaranteed to be boss themes, because if the teins are getting a theme, the destroyer and skele prime are bound to get their own themes as well

I like that they’re adding new tracks and the twins having a new one since it’s making the boss music more unique to each boss and not having repeats anymore

I love the new music! The twins track is a great way to separate the fight from others and I think it fits the mechanical vibe! The others might be mostly bosses, since the environmental tracks are so good, maybe a new space theme? Also, the new furniture looks very cool, sort of looks like hallowed crystal mixed with shimmer? Great vid!

I'll take my guesses here for the 4 other tracks:
1. Eater of Worlds
Reasoning: Boss 1 is used in multiple bosses, The Brain of Cthulu has the more unique Boss 3 track shared with Destroyer, I think Eater of Worlds might get its own song because of that.
2. Blizzard event in Snow Biome
Reasoning: The blizzard has no unique theme compared to the sandstorm, also is quite bland compared to it.
3. Surface Mushroom Biome
Reasoning: Lots of people make a surface Mushroom Biome, I can see this existing.
4. Skeletron Prime
Reasoning: Uses Boss 1 which feels more like a "starter boss" theme, while the Destroyer and Twins have more special themes.
A blizzard theme would be cool, it would make the event more of a counterpart to the sandstorm.

One use for this is for fishing in the cavern layer
Or in a jungle
Another use is for exploring without being bombarded with bats left and right

Bats spawn so often that you are bown to fall off it
Or rather get knocked off it
I hope something like this can be added to trarria

the hallowed alternative is actually a mod where the funfection is an infection of candy and icecream and stuff like that, and that mod actually does stuff with the underworld, its counterpart is called the depths, its dark and its blue. It would be cool to see that in the base game

Since it's a summoner item , the stress ball should make the player switch between the whips they have automatically (each one swings 1 time) bc only pc players can whipstack. Or maybe it could be merged with another accessory like flesh knuckles.
i'd imagine that the torch conversion will likely be the same toggle as the rest of torch god's favor, since that can be toggled as well

My guess for the new music is to give the bosses unique themes who had placeholders originally, since boss 2 definitely felt more like it fit wall of flesh then the twins, this being said I could see there being a skeletron prime theme, new shared theme for Brain of Cthulhu, Eater of Worlds, and a new theme for Lunatic Cultist aswell.
My guess for the ost update is the mechs will get their love for them each to have original osts, and certain events that overlaping music such as blood moon/meteorite that one will get their own original ost

That’s a sentry/turret style weapon from dead cells called the barnacle, which hangs from the ceiling. I can all but guarantee that’s what it is. It shoots poison darts while hanging from the ceiling, so this could be really good for farms.
I'm fairly certain that house was made of blocks you get from shimmer in 1.4.4, they've just finally added a furniture set, also that lantern is actually the preexisting monolith for the shimmer biome, mostly it seems they're showing off the furniture and maybe the tall special tree if that isnt already in the game

Have been hoping for a hallowed alternative, was thinking of something order-obsessed that uses a white and grey colour palette to contrast the pastel palette rainbow of the Hallow. Of course, that's more of a 1.5 idea.
My idea of a hallow alternative is this:
The hallow is the antithesis of the Corruption.
Then what is the antithesis of the Crimson?
That's right folks, a mechanical based biome, which is the exact opposite of a flesh based biome (Crimson).

Thoughts on this OST theory?
Boss 1 is used for King Slime, EoC, EoW, Skeleton, and Skeleton Prime.
Boss 3 is used for BoC and Destroyer.
Golem's theme is shared with Cultist.
It would take six new tracks on top of the new Twins’ theme to give each boss a unique track. Seven in total.
If the three original bosses continue to share Boss 1, there could be four new tracks plus the Twins’ theme. Five in total.
Maybe then additional potential tracks could be used to differentiate Blood Moons and Meteorite biomes, because they share a track as well.

IMO king slime theme should change to Queen slime
An addition I'd like to see is having wood/bone/hive in your voidbag work with the respective wands on your hotbar. Same with light sources like torches and glowsticks.

I think we're getting a Lunatic cultist track, them and Golem are in the same vein as the Twins and the Wall of Flesh in the fact that they have a theme that fits both of them, but boss 5 fits golem more than the cultist.

About the alternative hallow concept
(That I HIGHLY doubt will happen)
I imagine an orange, somewhat autumn
(or fall) like biome, to contrast the pink and blue of the hallow, with a similar happy spirit as the hallow, but perhaps a bit more relaxing and calm.
I think that two of the new music is for mech bosses or that the new twins theme extends for them as well.
I doubt they would change EoC, EoW, BoC, WoF, or skeletrons tracks. They are just too iconic.
This leads me to believe that the Lunatic Cultist or Golem got a new track.
I think 3 or 2 of the tracks are going to be environmental. Maybe meteor shower music? Torch God music (lol)? Maybe the sky has got another track for being in between space and surface.
I can only imagine what the Terrarian would look like with that new yo-yo bag

There are multiple bosses that share tracks with others, Skeletron and EoC both use Boss 1 for example, and BoC and Destroyer share Boss 2, as well as Lunatic Cultist and the Frost Legion not having their own tracks either, which is especially weird for the Cultist considering they're the stepping stone to the pillars and moon lord

Waiting longer when it comes to terraria just makes me more excited, cause the longer it takes, the better it will be usually be when it comes to terraria development.

i would imagine there is some new biome songs and ooo that new furniture set looks good
I got an idea for terraria, to help rangers, a button to scroll their ammo between the 4 slots, like, if he has 2 types of bullet, 1 of arrows and 1 of rrockets, it will appear an icon to make him scroll throw his bullets, swapping them faster, he could also equip 4 types of arrow, like the ichor arrows, cursed flames, magic shiver and luminite arrows, like that, the ranger could use all the 4 as he wants, without getting to open his inventory everytime he wants to swap them, this would make the ranged class more interesting, and people would end up making strategies of what types of ammo to use on every enemy
I think the magic yoyo bag is a reference to off string yoyoing, where the yoyo isn't actually connected to the string
I'd love to see the twins healthbar be split into two, one red, one green. If they both started at the middle, then drifted to the outside until they were both defeated.
