I am so thankful to ED for DCS but i honestly can't imagine dropping more money on it as long as old bugs are not fixed such as planes bouncing up and down at mach 5 and crazy warping. Also it seems like parked planes can blow up if another plane will land on the same airfield, makes it unplayable especially for long operations with 5 players and more. I'd love to get the f16 but i just don't feel like the core game is getting enough love.

I just love the hornet, that sound about 100-300 meters in front of the engines sucking in air is so thrilling. Also I remember before the release of the hornet on the forums a pilot chimed I about the hornet as he used to fly with the American navy, I remember him saying with gas weapons strapped to it she really start to have problems maintaing high 350-400 knots and it seems the flight model In the sim perfectly reflects this.
I wish I could figure out how his camera stays so stable when zoomed in. Using TrackIR the camera is SUPER sensitive when zooming in to look at things closer. Looks so stable when he does it :(
Finally! No more suicide runs on ship! Those CIWS are brutal tho... so I’m assuming there is no way to pick a certain target within a group of ships? Btw great job Wags and team!

Harpoons should be launched in a group against a ship with defeneses and programmed to attack from different angles using a separate program for each missile. Thanks
What would be the need for Harpoon Turn Point? I suppose evasion of surface defense systems surrounding a primary target? Or maybe land masking to sneak up on a target in a harbor?
Now i wonder, i was told the harpoon has a smokeless engine in it so it can fly for such long distances, rather then a unpowered glider. makes sense as it skims over the water on terminal guidance. But when you are flying for lets say 20K ft. and you set the harpoon and a high cruise altitude (30K ft.) Will it use its engine to climb to the desired cruising altitude or will it fly level at launch altitude until aquiring a target and initiate the skimming guidance?
reduces pilot workload. its pretty simple for it to just activate later and target anything close to the center rather than hoping it doesnt see a civi boat and destroy a $10k boat with a $1.2m missile. im not fully sure how the mode works just that it activates in the center and will target the first thing it sees at that center.

This thing doesn't care what it locks onto! I did a test with an enemy warship surrounded by friendlies and launched from multiple bearings. Whatever is locked first, that is what's for dinner. The smaller ships have a better chance of escaping but if the ships are roughly the same size, it's first come, first served.
This is a another great add to the Hornet! I assume the harpoon will lock on to the 1st ship it encounters regardless of what it is? Friendly, foe or civilian?
Considering it has its own buildt in radar seeker, and activates it after a programmable time. i highly suspect it will follow Aim 120 pitbull logic, meaning it will go after ANYTHING it sees, friendly and hostile alike. (Unless it keeps a datalink with the host aircraft and can determine with that who is who. But i highly doubt it....)
I know you don't normally watch the missile, but this thing's flight looked incredibly fake to me. Like it wasn't flying under proper aerodynamics. Is this the case for all launched ordinance?

I Just tested this missile for the first time against a Soviet Naval SAM ship and must say the Harpoon is useless. I shot 4 missiles and they were all targetted and destroyed fast. I did it a second time with the same results. I can hit tankers as in WAGs vid no problem. WAGS could you show us how to get through to actual enemy naval ships that can defend themselves? This mechanism just seems broken to me.
That’s obviously a great way to deploy the weapon if you have it’s exact bearing from a waypoint but boats move!! What if you don’t have an accurate known location?

The Hornet is going to be a standoff death machine when the A-G radar along with the SLAM/SLAM-ER arrive.
Kinda doubt the SLAM-ER will be developed. Think it's too new.

With SEA radar you should be able to in R/BL mode.

Correct. Most folks don't take into account the impact of altitude and target aspect for AAM range.
But the enemy ship draw distance should be corrected (increased) in future updates right? I saw them pop-in.

It did turn weird. Like it should have had thrust going to pull it off. Not just inertia.
@@satchking6861 The AGM-84D does produce thrust thoughout its flight, it is propelled by a J402 power plant.

It uses a small engine, not a rocket motor. It is a subsonic missile.
