Considering the crowds Ibrox has always got it was a huge oversight to build a new stadium in the 80s of only 40k. The club are massively seeing the wrongdoings of that now.
@jejmoss11 That was due to a barren spell for the club. Hence it was so short sighted building such a small stadium. If you look at Celtic in the 90s they were getting 15k to 35k and built a 60k stadium.
@@flaw3dgenius222 yes, but apart from a few games a season, it wouldn’t have been economically viable. Better a full 40-50k stadium than an often sparse 60-70k.
@jejmoss11 why? All those games in europe, games v Celtic n Aberdeen being full would massively give us a cash boost. Celtic park is sparsely populated most games... 50k in a 60k stadium and none of them moan about it saying its terrible.
You forget that Ibrox was rebuilt with the remit that 1971 would never happen again. They've added to the capacity, but even if someone cant stand Rangers, the remit and intent for Ibrox by Rangers is pure class on any level and deserves nothing but total respect. It took way over a decade before we got that in English stadiums and even then it had to be forced on them after disasters. Ibrox is a world class stadium-so you cant have too many gripes !
You got the 1902 Ibrox disaster wrong it was a Scotland vs England match that was played at Ibrox when the tragedy happened not a Rangers vs Celtic match
The game is awash with money in England. The same to a smaller extent should be happening in Scotland, a rising tide lifts all ships. Why not? The staggering misuse of EBT by Rangers to achieve 9in a row has scared off sponsors. Well done gers.
The refusal of the authorities to sanction celtic for the paedophile ring operating in their boys club is a bit of a sickener. What happened to the "free press" over that?
You mean like the Ibrox version featuring Harry Dunn, Gordon Neely, John Chalmers( hung himself before his Court appearence), Former players Kenny 5 years Watson and Richard Rent Boy Gough. Btw, Big Jock Wallace Knew, as did Souness and Smith. You can always send your Victims to the Liquidators like you did in the case of those that Neely abused in His room at Ibrox. Glass houses.@KaiColloquoun-gt7kw
Into thinking about little boys 24/7. When you use child abuse to score point over your opponents, when statistically 1 in 10 of your support will have suffered abuse is just, well scummy. How do you think those people feel when you sing those song while rubbing yer baws?
Excellent video mate 👍. One thing though, Govan is pronounced like "Guvan", not "Goavaan". Hope this helps.
...and Copland Rd is pronounced Copeland Rd.
Also the 1902 disaster was a match between Scotland and England,
Brilliantly interesting video bud, hopefully you do more Scottish stadiums (especially Tannadice ) 👍
It's on my list of upcoming videos!
I'll look forward to seeing it, thank you @@thenextmatch

The crowds weren’t there for a larger stadium in the 1980s.

Apologies! I'll be sure to do better research next video!
Oasis have never played there 😂
I saw them playing there but i was mightily pished at the time so i could be wrong
There is a picture of then celtic manager jock stein helping with the dead and injured during the aftermath of the '71 disaster. Deeply moving

EBTs and 9 in a row, oh, how the fenian demented mind is full of victimhood nonsense lol

Iconic 80’s concrete mess
Let's hear a little bit more about the songs they sing at this iconic stadium , you know the ones I mean....
@@JohnFoley-j8k The ones that the old boys club at the SFA ignore?
@@Qmark78
That's the ones...
What songs?
Big Jock Knew or Glasgow Celtic Pedophiles or Who Touched All The Boys?
Just stating documented fact!

Here we go... The obsessed.
You probably have zero issue with the songs of shame at Celtic Park eh 🤔
