@Jonas Lastname that makes me feel so much better, ive been trying to bond my oldest pig with a baby, and the older one is super dominant, so its been tough trying to bond them. i adopted an adult when the oldest pigs friend died but that was horrible and they never got along, so i surrendered her.
Oh my gosh thank you this video saved my life not really but it's amazing I have two male guinea pigs and they will not stop rambling and mounting each other but this video helps a lot
DON’T let the guinea pigs meet on your lap. That will provide an enclosed space that is not easy to escape from for the guinea pig. They could start fighting on your lap and, with no way to escape, they could hurt each other or hurt you. Skip the step on the lap and let them meet in a neutral zone like it says in the video. SERIOUSLY, letting them meet for the first time on your lap could lead to serious injury or fear for the guinea pigs.
I was so lucky with binding my two boys one was 8 weeks and the other was 12 weeks. I had them I cages next to each other for three day the put them on the bathroom floor together and they have been together since! No arguments not bickering and they've been together for almost a year now!
I got my first one at a crappy pet shop he had no friends was the only one hes 13 weeks now. After a week or two I realized he was blind and deaf. Then I picked up Teddy and he is 6 weeks old other than rumblestrutting in that show dominance that get along great and they sleep in the same house so I'm so glad about that any tips for deaf and blind guinea pigs would be great
Great tips! 👍 Thanks for showing some of the more aggressive behavior. I just had a female and neutered boar go through a few rough introductions but they are now living together and bonding. It was good to know that some of their behaviors like the lunge attacks weren’t a sign of failure.

Yeah, split cage method might have to be permanent for my couple. The two pigs are vicious when close, but communicate a lot when seperated. I am just terrified of losing one of them due to an injury from a bad fight.
I’m thinking mine might have to be permanently separated as well. They’re brothers….have been together for about 2 years, so I will try these tops first and see.
@@mommagamer4572 7 months later, they are still separated, but provided ample room to socialize with each other. The territorial acts from both pigs have definitely simmered, and they probably could co-exist together. I am still nervous to put the two together for long periods of time. With time, it does get better, slowly.
I tried the little pin hang out with fresh matting and snacks, this worked amazing! One did try to mount the other (both female) and the same one chattered her teeth but they weren’t biting and they seemed to snuggle by each other while enjoying snacks together which I’m really happy about! I will be cleaning the cage but remove the divider and I’m considering giving them both a bath so they both would share a similar scent to maybe help give that boost
Sometimes guinea pigs will chirp if they don’t have a hidey hole, especially at night. Your pig may have been feeling anxious about being exposed in open space when they’d normally sleep in a shelter. Removing hidey holes is a good idea to avoid a pig getting cornered and fighting during introductions, but replacing them with ones with two exits can give your pigs security and an easy escape.

This was very helpful!Few when I was introducing my piggies last Friday, one of them was mounting the other one and we thought they were mating because in the pet shop they told us that the new one we got was a female and when it was mounting the other I was so freakin scared that it was a male anyways thanks a lot for making this video! It was very easy to understand!
Thanks for the video! My boys were bonded 2 years ago but after pulling them from a neglectful home, I realized how disgusting their cage was that they came with, so I had to house them in a much smaller cage for a few days. They started nipping, fighting, blocking each other in corners, away from food, etc. And despite it being only 4 days - I genuinely had to separate them and I was scared to put them back together since. I recently decided to try bonding them again and they will hiss, show their teeth, chase each other around, and not even try to mount each other. They will settle down and clean themselves though, they'll sit and eat food distanced from each other, one might even lay out on the opposite end of the cage - but then they'll go back to hissing, teeth bearing, jumping up and down on their front legs, and nose bumping each other. Even though they aren't trying to "hurt" each other, and they settle down - I'm concerned by the lack of attempt at mounting. Should I be worried, should I just leave them alone, are they actually fine? Please help :(
I read your information page to my family (because they haven't got a clue on this stuff) and as I was reading, my mum was counting me reading to them as numbers in how many times I have read in the week. Great isn't it!
I've had a skinny for almost 2 months and I just got another guinea pig who's younger. They're both boys. Twice now I've introduced them in neutral territory, but the new one chases my skinny and bites him. He's breaking skin, so I really worries me. They're sharing a cage with a partition. Today is the first day they have interacted a lot. My skinny squeaks at the new one a lot then popcorns everywhere. I'm gonna try having both of them on my lap tonight. I think that might be better.
Really good, clear video style. Both pigs are feisty little things. I Still haven't worked out who's Queen guinea. I hope they are rubbing along okay together now.
When I bonded my three males, Reaper, my lone boy for I don't know how long, and the bonded brothers I rehomed, Soul and Shang; I hand fed treats and hand fed all the veggies with the "Up" command. Began with Reaper then started with the twins about 4-5 days after I got Reaper. Once bonding was put in session, I started with their names then "Up" they all felt comfort by knowing the same command and got the same treats. Reaper was like *girl tastes kombucha for the first time* for a second in the background it was so funny, I don't think he's seen that before, 100% worked for me but that was only when they all munched together and zen for the moment, I limited my time in the pin (they're all around the same age, Reaper was said to be 1 year and the twins are 10 months. They're a bit skittish since they came from homes that couldn't properly care for them in the long run -but that's why I say "Poopie" and hold it to them for a mini sniff before I wave my monster hand all over picking up their droplets and start cleaning.) I did this everyday in their own cages until they knew what I was doing, I backed off a bit with the cleaning, although it is still daily. They don't seem to mind after that. It's just routine that worked with their personalities! Hope this gives tips for anyone who tries to bond. :^)

Pets Palace TV can u please do a video on how to keep your Guinea pig from not getting lonely when you only have one , btw also where would you buy storage grids from in Australia ??
one of my boars sadly passed away because of a pet shop that told me it was ok to keep both of them in an insanely small cage he was called deasel I'm glad I found you and I'm going to try again since I really feel bad for my lonely boar he's been alone for a year now with all my attention but I just think it's not enough so I'm going to buy a way bigger cage then before and follow your steps if it don't work out I'll sell it to a person who can look after it.
Gemma Robinson guinea pigs are very unlikely to become litter trained unlike rabbits, because they poo and wee as they please, but the way i used to litter train my rabbit is to put all of the poo off the floor into the litter trays so they learn where it's meant to be!
Hi. Can you give me some advice? I have 2 boars and I tried putting them on my lap, neutral area, and when they got introduced they were chattering teeth the next day one of my piggies is runs up to the other guinea pig and they turn into this ball where 1 maybe on top and the other on bottom. This happens anytime that I put them together( the guinea that is getting attacked has a scar on this nose) I’m a bit worried is this ok?
No, that's not ok. The same thing happened to me, you should try all of the tips in the video and invest on a vet first, if things dont look up, its time to seperate.
My guinea pigs are brothers and they have a big cage to spend time in but they always chase each other while trying to sniff each others butts, does anyone know if this is ok?
Even if they're siblings and grew up together, once the male piggies reaches puberty, they will become aggressive against other males even if they spent their childhood together. Only around 20% of such males will bond and coexist after puberty.
I have one ginuea pig atm but I feel he gets lonely at times especially when im not home. I do want to get him a pal but idk how he’d respond. Hes very charismatic & isn’t afraid to show expression. I’m currently building a bigger cage as hes only 3 months old. I do feel he’d be the dominant one as this is his house but I’m hoping hes okay w having a pal so he won’t get so lonely.
I have a question i have introduced my two males today with the serated cage idea. One is an older male the other is young for some reason the older male is trying to destroy the cage and biting the gates to get to him any ideas what to do i dont have another cage but was afraid he was lonely by himself
I also just want to add another tip for anyone out there, it's much easier to introduce guinea pigs when they're young because, in my experience, they are less dominant because they are the same age with the same level of authority. My guinea pigs are 3 months apart and they got along extremely well, the dominant behavior lasted for an hour and never occurred again. They now are always side by side and they like protect each other from threats.
Thinks for the tips cuz I'm getting another guinea pig soon and when they do the bounce thing should u get them away from each other really quick plz replie
Hi! Love your vids so much!❤ i have a question. I have 2 guinea pigs (mom and daugther) and the mom is always biting and trying to rip out her daughters fur. i've split them in to two cages now, but the daughter does not like it at all. You have any tips?

My friend's guinea pig sometimes chirps. He live with another not - neutered male. He is the less dominant, but can still be very dominant. He often just mounts the other pig, but the other pig tends to just rumble strut at him. I think he's done it a few times. What would you propose?
I'm getting ready to try bonding a new 12 month old baby who's just about done his quarantine. This looks so scary, that attack. I might've separated at that point 🤯 I think I'll be more stressed than my boys will be
I just have a question because I have 4 piggies all are female my oldest is 3 that’s Juliet, bell is almost 2, chestnut is 1 and echo is 6 months. I have done floor time in a new place, tried the food trick, lap time and what is happening is the older two are bullying the younger two who are submissive piggies they are running around and squeezing like they are afraid and they have even pulled hair. I’ve asked a lot of people for advice but they said it’s normal behavior because they are still new to the younger piggies but I want to make sure this is normal behavior because I don’t want to stress them out
I'm in the middle of bonding my trio, 3 boars. the youngest gets along with both fine, but the two oldest can't be left together. They do just fine with these methods but when left overnight they end up fighting. the longest I got them to last was 3 days before they drew blood. any tips?

Pets Palace TV can u please do a video on how to keep your Guinea pig from not getting lonely when you only have one , btw also where would you buy storage grids from in Australia ??
one of my boars sadly passed away because of a pet shop that told me it was ok to keep both of them in an insanely small cage he was called deasel I'm glad I found you and I'm going to try again since I really feel bad for my lonely boar he's been alone for a year now with all my attention but I just think it's not enough so I'm going to buy a way bigger cage then before and follow your steps if it don't work out I'll sell it to a person who can look after it.
can your Guinea Pigs eat red and green and yellow peppers
They can eat bell peppers! Just don't let them have too many and make sure to wash them before feeding.
could you please do a video on how to litter train a guinea pig!?
Gemma Robinson guinea pigs are very unlikely to become litter trained unlike rabbits, because they poo and wee as they please, but the way i used to litter train my rabbit is to put all of the poo off the floor into the litter trays so they learn where it's meant to be!
Gemma Robinson she might not litter train them
thanks!
Awh poor teacup and bonnie but very factual vid❤️
Good advise!
Great video!
they are both so adorable :)
I have one really nice piggie i want to get a another one but a different breed do all breeds get along or not?
Thinks for the tips cuz I'm getting another guinea pig soon and when they do the bounce thing should u get them away from each other really quick plz replie
i have one question I have a boar should i get another oar or a sow?
Love the video ❤️️

Hi! Love your vids so much!❤ i have a question. I have 2 guinea pigs (mom and daugther) and the mom is always biting and trying to rip out her daughters fur. i've split them in to two cages now, but the daughter does not like it at all. You have any tips?
I have a question. So one of my guinea pigs nips at my New Guinea pig through the c&c square so I put a peice of chloroplast. What should I do nest?
Awesome video ❣
How many days do we have to do the split cage method
Thanks so much for this video!!!!! I just have one problem. I have two boars who have been going through this stage with very serious behavior like him pulling and so on, for like a month now. Is that normal?
Question. do piggs like weeks the way your gurbals do?
Thank you sooo much for this.
i just got a piggy a few days ago, and he is about a year old. is it a good idea to still bring in a friend for him if he is this old and used to being by himself??
Hi Erin I know this is a old video but I was wondering if you could help me
I have two guinea pigs who I got from blue cross and when there out of the cage and together or doing the split cage method they seems absolutely fine but as soon as I put them together they start fighting and hair pulling and biting and Idk what’s going on with them please help me thanks x
Can you do another video about your gerbils?
hi I was wondering if you could do a video about what you do when you first get a rabbit seems im rehoming one soon
Just wondering if your piggies are brothers do you need to separate them first thx
I might've separated at that point 🤯 I think I'll be more stressed than my boys will be
what do you put in the litter box's?
I just have a question because I have 4 piggies all are female my oldest is 3 that’s Juliet, bell is almost 2, chestnut is 1 and echo is 6 months. I have done floor time in a new place, tried the food trick, lap time and what is happening is the older two are bullying the younger two who are submissive piggies they are running around and squeezing like they are afraid and they have even pulled hair. I’ve asked a lot of people for advice but they said it’s normal behavior because they are still new to the younger piggies but I want to make sure this is normal behavior because I don’t want to stress them out
thank you for this video. Great channel.
I'm in the middle of bonding my trio, 3 boars. the youngest gets along with both fine, but the two oldest can't be left together. They do just fine with these methods but when left overnight they end up fighting. the longest I got them to last was 3 days before they drew blood. any tips?
