Good to know that HAL is behaving like a good corporate entity; even advancing aircraft supply to create aviation possibilities in difficult areas, NE etc. Good show!
The stable aircraft is a result of Old West German technology which are of excellent construction quality, long term reliability and are time Tested platforms. It is a versatile aircraft for a number of purposes.
I dont think we can retire them anytime soon. It's a gem in hand. We have the production line and we have the license to do anything with it. We can use Tejas's composite material to make Do228 and make it lighter and efficient ( both HAL products ). It can be a mini AEW&CS, AWACS with DRDO techs. It can be anything if we try to do something with it. In a war like situation, more Do228 will help a lot. We can't rely on mega C17 or IL76 or Rusting An32. Do228 is old design but newly manufactured. We can always upgrade it and manufacture it.
Do 228 is very small to be AWACS. Its a good thing that we're becoming more indigenous but one of the basic requirements for AEW&C is high endurance which the Do 228 simply cannot achieve.
Can the seaplane version at 6:30 be used as a small AEW&CS as it can be flown directly from sea an it doesn't require any runway. Also range might not be that much but an inflight refueling probe or drop tanks can increase the range. Is it possible.
Engines are not powerful enough to power a radar for aewcs.. but soon to be retired Avro can be converted as aewcs as that aircraft is of sam category of PAF SAAB Aewcs
@@vvgame Yeah, but cant help but remember the sad accident near chennai where we lost many gems including a wonderful scientist. Atleast for those people we should revive and bring it to life.
As we know P8i Asw are in block list, these can be used in small version of P8i & can able to launch torpedoes and depth charges and acquire in large no.
Range is a distance with km as a unit of measure...Donare has 700kms range and has no hrs...🤦🏾♂️ Stop just reading out off a written script...learn and use your own notes 📝
I flew often in Do 228's predecessor, the Do 219, a 13 seater aircraft. It was a short hop propeller non-pressurized plane like this one, and my flying experience was excellent.
When you are providing technical details, show technical illustrations or phots. You are repeating same pictures over & over again. It makes your effort very boring.

We will be using the upcoming Airbus C295 for that purpose.
@@abymathew295 both can be used. C 295 deal with TATA is actually a very good deal to break HAL monopoly.
This may be too small to support a roof mounted radar and to accommodate the electronics and interfaces insode.
It's shame that a German could imagine making a plane in 1929 and we still need their engine
India wasted nearly 20years.. 1990 was the right time for civil varient of do-228
Usual story. Most of people are laid back and not professional and hence the delay in implementing things.
Bhai us time hamre economy khatam ho gayi thi
This an eye opener thanks.
I ❤ my India... Thanks to IAF.... 🙏🙏🙏
Jai Hind 🇮🇳
This range is of its commercial version with 19 passengers ? Please advise the MTOW . Is it under 5700 kgs ? The original aircraft had 6330 kgs MTOW.
What happened to NAL saras mk2?
JAI mata Jai Hind Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Jai Bharat Jai Ho Bandemataram. 🙏
Bhai wasn't Saras MK1 & MK2 supposed to replace this Do-228 ? What happened to it ?
Passenger capacity can be increased to 60....
HAL should upgrade to producing bigger aircraft . it should look at embraer how they started producing bigger aircraft
Pla make video relating to indian army activity maldives
Such a wise choice!
This can be a slow & low flying anti tank gunship like the spooky..
Wait till the end
Can it detects the submarines

Can this aircraft takeoff form aircraft carrier
Nope

More than 20 year old technology
Airframe not technology. It has all modern avionics.infact airframe has also been changed with more composite
Why is India copying a decades old German airplane? Why are they abandoning the Saras Mk1?

NAL Saras mki2 is much better aircraft in compatiblity, multi operations, versetality and capability in avionics
How many have we sold to the armed forces and civlian use internationally. If minimal then all is properganda
Dornier does not have pressurized cabin . It does not have good experience for passenger.
They have developed a civilian variant with a pressurised cabin.

Dont retire them
I dont think this plane can fly
Think its a flightless plane
If they want to fly they must purchase from restt of the world
Shame on my indian people
