I am an outsider, neither Indian nor Indonesian. Assuming that both aircrafts are built to its specifications, the Indian Dornier DO 228, 19 seaters looks more attractive to me from engineering/design point of view. I like the design/arrangement of the landing gear, looks very stable. The long and spacious compartment at the nose can be used to install sonar equipment to detect submarine. 5 blades propellers are more stable than 4 blades one in case 1 blade get warped or loose. Longer range is also a big bonus as well.
The latest news says that 11 units of N219 have been ordered by a private logistics company with a contract value of $80 million. The N219 is also planned to become an amphibious aircraft which is planned to start its first flight in 2026. I hope that the N219 will be mass produced for all regions in Indonesia as interconnectivities considering that Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world.

It should be noted that PT DI (Indonesian aerospace industry) has long been in partnership with Airbus. In 1970 IPTN (now PT DI) collaborated with CASA (now Airbus) to develop the CN235 medium transport aircraft. This aircraft has produced 354 units and is still being produced at PT DI. This aircraft has been operated by more than 35 countries in the world where 59 CN235 aircraft are operated by Turkey. Turkey itself has invited Indonesia to cooperate in further developing CN235. But I don't know how the program will continue. So compared to Turkey, Indonesia has more experience working with Spain in the development of aircraft.
