My girlfriend bought me a used Lite. Perfect condition except with a mangled game card slot. You saved my Christmas and New Years and plus we got to tinker replacing the slot! You deserve my sub and all the subs in the world!!! ❤️🐨❤️
Thank you!!! I was able to successfully replace the game slot! I greatly appreciate your help. Now my son can finally get back to gaming on his Switch Lite👏🏾👍🏽
THanks... you don't have to put on new paste if the old stuff is still very soft. If it looks crumbly at all, or like "Play-Dough"... then it should be replaced. I've only been noticing it getting hard on the original (early) switches.
I recently replaced my sons joystick and put the everything back together and now I’m having a problem with the game card not reading the games I replaced the game card and I’m still getting the same message. Can it be something else? Please help
I was able to successfully replace my daughters game cartridge with a new one. However, I am still getting the same error with just a few games not all that says “the game card could not be read. Please remove and reinsert it”. Any idea what else could be the issue?
Also - the 3 games not working actually work fine in another switch lite. I noticed damage to the prongs in the switch lite that won’t read the 3 games which is what I thought was the issue so I replaced that. We have 5 games that work fine. Help! :)
so in another video I watched they said to unplug the battery before you start to remove the broken card reader is that something that needs to be done? and do you need to take out the memory card when replacing the card reader?
@PghGameFix I have replaced to reader, disabled all the way back down tp the joystick. Put it all back together, everything clipped, new reader... still getting this code.
Hello,I have a question, Is it possible that damaging a resister or something other than the card reader cause the switch to not read games. My brother's switch didnt read games after replacing the thermal paste
I got one of these it reads the card when I put it in then when I go in to the game it loads for a min then goes to a black screen that says can’t read card. And it only does it to like two of the games I have. Have you ever seen that?
Yes... it is always safer to disconnect the battery. But, since the game port is low voltage, and on ribbons... there is almost no chance of an issue. BUT... if you are not careful, you could short the board with tools.
I have a question from the PlayStation side so my ps4 one night randomly stopped connecting signal with the tv but the controller and console turns on saying their is no signal I’ve tried a different PlayStation and it works I’m trying to get my ps4 to start working
Either the HDMI port has broken in some way.... or the encoder chip has given up. Both are repairable... but depending on what Main board is in your PS4... it may not be a cheap fix. (one of the encoder chips is $50 just for the part !!)
My son has a habit of taking the games out and in and now won’t read. Do you have a shop you fix them or let people mail and pay you to fix it? I have hand tremors so trying to do this myself is a no go.
Hello friend, I use a translator, sorry if I write strangely, were you able to solve the problem? The same thing happens to me, I changed the reader, but the gamecard reading still fails
I really liked how laid back your video was! You seem down to earth 🌎 Also the video was really easy to understand.
I was able to fix my son's Switch Lite because of this video. Thank you very much. 😊
glad it helped.
so i changed the card reader with a new one but same response any other ideas to throw at it?

I'm glad the video helped. Happy New year to you.
Thank you for posting this! It's given my husband the confidence to fix it himself!!
Glad the video helped.

Going to get the piece now to try to fix it! Seems pretty straight forward! Just like legos with screws!! Ty!
Yep. just dont force anything
Hey great video but how do I get the part to fix it? Thanks I'm a noob lol 😅
Worked like a charm! Thanks for the video.
I'm glad the vid helped. Thanks for watching.
Hello i replaced the game card reader on my switch lite and still getting error message, any ideas of what it could be? Thank you
So, we unplugged battery, the little lever to the wire above the battery popped off and now can't get it back on, does that need to be put back?
Like your style keep up the good work :)
THanks. I apricate the complement !!
Did you have to re-put thermal paste? & Love the T-shirt Great video

so in another video I watched they said to unplug the battery before you start to remove the broken card reader is that something that needs to be done? and do you need to take out the memory card when replacing the card reader?
Sure... I normally pop the battery connector before I start.
Is the gamecard reader the exact same on the normal switch. I have the lite and need to replace the gamecard reader
no. The lite and the regular use different readers.
I replace my son's joystick on this side and now the game reader isn't working. Still a good chance the reader is the problem?
I would open it up again, and just make sure the cable is plugged into the mainboard. If it is... then yes, the reader could be bad.
Sure... but I've seen a few card readers go bad for no real reason.
@PghGameFix I recently replaced the cartridge slot, and the game cards still don't work,so is there anything that I can do??
@@Legend_Broly797 Use a cotton swab and some 91% alcohol. Try to clean the cartridges. Also... you may have just gotten a bad replacement card reader.
What do you do if the ribbon lock snapped off?
I have this issue and came here for a fix lol, I can't get it back on
Great video, and thanks for the help!
Glad you enjoyed it, and it was helpfull

Try cleaning the game with some IPA and a cotton swab.
Nice to the point video! I was wondering would it have been safer to disconnect the battery before doing the job?
Yes... it is always safer to disconnect the battery. But, since the game port is low voltage, and on ribbons... there is almost no chance of an issue. BUT... if you are not careful, you could short the board with tools.
With that being said, since I'm nervous about ruining it maybe 🤔 I should just have it fixed.......any thoughts??

You can send it to Warpzone Attn: Tony Ferraro 1302 Poplar St. Greensburg PA 15601
@@PghGameFix is there a site or email I use to contact?
@@PghGameFix that’s actually bout 3 hours from where I live too
I have replaced the reader and I'm still getting the same error message. Any ideas on what else could be the issue? Thanks in advance.
Try cleaning the cartridges with 90% IPA and a cotton swab.
Hello friend, I use a translator, sorry if I write strangely, were you able to solve the problem? The same thing happens to me, I changed the reader, but the gamecard reading still fails
Same here, I already replaced the reader and i still have the same issue (and yes i Did clean my cartridges)
So did you find out what the problem was?
I also replaced the reader but it still won't read the card.
Does the switch and switch lite have the same game slot replacement?
No. they are completely different in the way they connect to the main board.
Dealing with tiny stripped screw heads on the cartridge slot..... waste of time
Why did they get stripped out?
my switch is 3 days old wth
Single? Asking for a friend don’t see a ring on a finger;)
