    Can u show a video of unplugging the bms then charging the auxiliary batteries. I don't know where the bms is located and how do u charge the auxiliary batteries? Thanks

    • @rbk77
      @rbk77  2 роки тому +1

      The aux batteries look like regular batteries. They connected between each other with plugged cables. There’s is also a little black box will be there somewhere on the side. Look for cable that goes from the batteries to that box. That would be the cable that you need to unplug. After you finished charging, plug that cable back. Disconnect the charging device. Cut of power in the truck entirely with switches behind the driver’s seat. Wait for 10 minutes and turn the power ON.
      The charging process is similar to charging regular batteries.

    Do you think it’s worth the price and the weight that it adds?

    • @rbk77
      @rbk77  3 роки тому +4

      According to the paperwork, the system weight is around 500lbs. It also includes a certificate that gives you an exemption for at least 450lbs(some states 560lbs) from any axle or gross weight in 45 states, so it basically weigh nothing if the concern is extra GVW. In regards of fuel economy, it saves more than $600 a month in fuel because you not going to be idle the truck that much plus less money on extra maintenance and harm to the truck caused by idling.
      For instance: with paccar engine you must idle at 1000rpm according to the owners manual, that would take about 0.8 gallons per hour of fuel (according to the dashboard computer). With constant AC running it goes up to 1 gallon. When you have your AC running the will kick in the engine fan ON like every 30seconds, and when the fan is running, the consumption goes up to 1.5 gallons. Today the average price of fuel is $2.8 per gallon. 10 hour break will cost at least $28. 10 days = $280, 30 days = $840. Yes, you will not idle every day for 10 hours, but the average will still be high number (add idling while loading/unloading). Even if you going to buy new idling system every year, it will save you money. One of the main reasons for me to have idling system besides the fuel economy is that you sleep with no vibration caused buy the truck running. Much better sleep.
      Answering your question - yep, extra 500lbs worth all they benefits the system gives.

    I have kw t680 and has the same idle mgnt system. When I switch to heat, it shows a msg next to it; Check filter. Please share if you u know anything

    • @rbk77
      @rbk77  Рік тому +2

      You will get this message every 500 hours after using your management system working. You need to reset it by pushing power button and menu button at the same time and hold them for like 10 seconds. Also, every once in a while clean your filter. It’s a blue furnace filter inside the management system under the bunk.

    hi , auxiliary battery not charging 3rd party dealer replaced auxiliary batteries 4 of them and i was okey 12 hour in cold weather after its stop. what it could be the cause ? i changed fuses under bed one . still same. not charging issue , should I go dealer ?

    • @rbk77
      @rbk77  3 місяці тому

      There are fuses inside the idle management system.
      It can be many cases. Bad wiring, relay died or work incorrectly.
      The batteries may be "sleeping". Check out videos about how to wake up deep cycle batteries with a car jump starter.

    Are still happy with the system?

    • @rbk77
      @rbk77  Рік тому

      Yes, I am. Over 2 years have 5000hours+ on it. Considering the price of diesel these days it paid off itself surprisingly quickly. I had to refill the freon once which cost me $120, and that was it. Initially I was told that I’ll need to refill it in the first couple months since factory does not put a lot in the system for some reason.

I went to the dealership, and they told me 3 weeks wait time for simple to take a look at it, but they suggested I may need simply to charge the batteries directly (not trough the connection under the hood because battery management system will not charge go through to the aux batteries).
