I worn exactly the same watch 15300st with blue dial at the Greek importers boutique in Athens. I was very impressed by the watch beauty and from the thirty per cent discount at price. I own a1996 overseas vc and I believe that overseas has the best safety clasp and it is more beautiful than royal oak .

Not only is the service expensive, but usually with AP. You should be prepared to be watchless for a good couple of weeks as the service times are crazy long.
Source: I am a part time jeweler who learned the ropes around these pieces.

nim nim parvin it really depends on what breaks... most likely thing to happen is that your crown will pop right off while winding. Royal Oaks are known for that. If you lose it thats a few hundred bucks. If you want it reinstalled thats another few hundred plus shipping. If the movement is broken it still depends what needs to be replaced. Could be up to a thousand dollars but it's not likely, Audemars Piguet makes some of the industries best movements; though they are fragile in the sense you shouldn't go motocrossing with the watch. My best answer would be it costs a few hundred bucks ($300-500) to get most things fixed. How often will it break? Hopefully never. Just take it easy with the watch and be cautious when winding the crown and I don't see why it shouldn't last just fine until you are ready to sell it. Just to be on the safe side I would factor in two service calls for the watch, so add on another grand to the watch and then ask again if it's worth it. My answer would be yes; but not the classic Royal Oak, those are going out of style. Get an offshore :)

I love luxury watches, but the Royal Oak has never done it for me. Ugly design imo.
This is an older model. The new AP Royal Oak has matching date window/dial. Still nice however it can be mistaken for a Replica even though this one is real..

It was the boutique of chronohellas Greek importer. The price was 9.650 euros at 2008 and became at 6.750 euros for cash payment. I have just worn it, I didn't buy it and I have regret it. The new 15400 is big for my wrist and the 15450 is too small and the clasp don't close ! So I go on wearing my overseas.

+Bg G Most people can never afford AP and PP. That doesn't mean they can't recognize the awesome watches they make. They wear Rolex because they have to settle for something cheap.

God damn this thing is pretty, but straight off the bat I noticed some flaws. You pulled it out of the box, and looking at, in my opinion the most beautiful feature, the bezel, I noticed the screw at the 7 area is off. The rest of the screws, at the edge of each grove, lines up to the next screw. The 7 screw does not. Also, when you turn it over and show the clasp, there's already a large scratch at the top right of the AP symbol. If this watch was preowned, perhaps this is understandable. If not, there's no excuse for the imperfections on a $50k+ watch. Shame really, but for something at this price, I couldn't expect anything less than perfect.

This watch doesn't cost 50,000$... Not even half of that, and if you can't imagine bumping your watch on a doorjam then you really can't afford it. There's financial budgets and psychological budgets...when I owned this piece I owned it with your mindset and never enjoyed it... I gave it a deep scratch when I accidentally hit the stucco of my home with my wrist locking my door. AP got it out for free but I was just done with the stress...it's weird, anything under 10,000$ I can wear like a beater, once I hit that 10k mark I wanna safe it. Even my ceramic sub I don't sweat a doorjam hit or a ding. I like enjoying my watches and never could enjoy that piece, it's in the hands of a better owner now.
+Christopher Mendez Im the same way. I could never wear anything more than a Sub or an AP 15400 without being too scared to take out out of the box lol. An expensive watch seems more like a curse than a blessing to me but that doesnt stop me from yearning for a few in my collection.
