I can’t believe I was able to watch a really helpful cleaning video in which the person did not blather on and on and endlessly on! This guy is great. A Very good teacher!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video🙂
I thought exactly the same thing! I dislike videos where the person insists on telling us their life story before finally getting to the content we came to get. This video was a breath of fresh air in that regard, and the Rain-x idea is tremendous. I am heading out to buy these materials today so I can clean my shower stall glass.
No kidding. I saw this video was less than five minutes and immediately clicked. Thank you!
Incidentally, I followed his instructions and it worked perfectly. I used Rain-X after cleaning, and the results are amazing. We have had zero issues with soap scum or hard water build-up on our glass shower stall. We squeegie at the end of each shower and the stall looks as though it was just freshly cleaned. I'll be reapplying Rain-X periodically to make sure it keeps repelling water. This video was the most useful thing I've watched on UA-cam in months. Thanks again for making it!
I put about 2 tablespoons of JetDry (dishwasher anti-spotting fluid) into a quart size spray bottle filled with distilled water. After showering, I lightly spray glass and metal fixtures. I haven’t used my squeegee since doing that. It gradually even cleans off the old water spots. Super easy and very effective. No scrubbing or wiping down. The JetDry makes the water run off and it drys with no spotting.
I never thought about using JetDry. Makes sense now that you think about it. Will try it on my glass shower doors. Thanks kind sir!
@@mooncake5579 Even if you don’t clean the glass first, you will notice that the water spots start noticeably going away the first time you use it. Once the glass is clear, I find that I only need to spray it about once every 3 showers.
I use it just like that as well when I clean my aluminum blinds. I mount them on a piece of plywood in the backyard and after a light scrub, I apply the jet dry spray. They dry in minutes.
Great idea!
Thanks I’m going to try this!
By far the most well thought out cleaning video I’ve ever watched. No fluff , only necessary and helpful information. Great job !
Glad you found the video valuable🙂
YES!!!!!!
I truly love YT content creators ... never in my life would i watch a TV program about cleaning a shower but this was really interesting, thank you! 😁
Thanks for the encouragement🙂
Concise narrative. Thanks for not waffling on. Very useful info - thank you.
Happy to help
Soooo grateful for this video! It works, and you didn’t waste one moment of my time. Thank you so much!!!!!!!
I did this today. Lowes has the 4 X category steel wool. And most grocery store have the “cleaning vinegar” Only one small area needed a second application. It was a huge improvement. I did just what he said to do- even with the Rain X. Wear a mask. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
Happy to help!
That's how I did it in the beginning, I wiped down the doors with steel wool, now every time anyone takes a shower, I dry the doors off with a towl so no more water spots.
The 6X vinigar was $ 21 a gallon. I told myself this better work, i used 0000 steel wool, built up soap, and hard water. I was amazed yes, let vinegar set 3 minutes to do the work hardle had to clean it off , no hard elbow grease needed easy clean now my shiwers look like they were installed yesterday, Big Thanks
Happy to help!
Do you have have to dilute the vinegar? If so, by how much?
Mr. Clean sponges work amazing!
I haven’t cleaned shower doors in 30 years and mine are super clean.
Here’s how : I leave a hand towel hanging over the shower door all the time. After each shower wipe down the inside of the shower, it takes 15 seconds and you will never have a dirty shower door.🎤
I do the same, but I wipe down the entire shower with a spare bath towel.
I agree and have been doing the same for 10 years: no stains.
I do the same but I use a Chamois Leather cloth first, this way most of the water is squeezed down the drain and the towel is almost dry when I am finished. Glass shower still looks new after many years. Also I don't hang a damp towel in the bathroom, I put it out to dry first, I think this cuts down on mildew in the bathroom. I live in a very humid climate.
simple and effective - no regular cleaning needed.... maybe once a year a deep clean
That also works for me. I just use the E-Cloth for glass for those super cleaning times.
We have hard water in Vermont, I have a spray bottle with dawn and vinegar under the sink ready, i only use Mr Clean Magic eraser and like new. Thanks for the rainex tip I’ll try that or jet dry like some mentioned.
I like that rain X idea. Definitely going to try that after I get my shower doors cleaned. But they’re putting up a fight. I’m cleaning a house that has not seriously clean their shower doors for 25 years. And the hard water stains that I’ve built up have created a solid shade of white over the whole glass. I’ve been using 75% vinegar soaked on paper towels to let it sit and leave it. It’s gotten most of it off but it’s taking me three days so far just to get all of that off it’s just layer after layer. But I’m definitely gonna keep plugging away at it. It’s worth it.
Thank you for this video! So glad I found it! It was very precise and straight forward. May I ask for tips on how to clean the shower door strips/seal that are located on the side where the glass door attaches to the wall? There are also strips in between the glass wall and the glass door as well as the bottom part where the door meets the tile. An old toothbrush can’t seem to reach the space in between as it’s very tight/flushed.
Our shower looks similar to yours and was wondering how you clean them. Thank you for your help! 🙏
This is the best approach. It works really well. Thank you for posting.
Happy to help
Top advice. I have tiles as well and would like to know how I do the same - even just weekly.
Excellent advice! Thank you
Happy to help!
Great video! I use 0000 steel wool plus metal polish to clean bras door fittings (letter box etc) and it works fantastically. When it is polished off I give it a wipe down with olive oil, yes,, it's a great antioxidant!
Perfect! Thanks for the help regarding hard water spots
Happy to help!
Great advice, thanks.
Thank you for sharing, can I use the same steps on ceramics shower tile.
Just tried today and it works. The vinegar alone could remove most of the soap scum of the shower glass and I used window cleaner one more time. There are some other YTbers advising to add dish detergent to the vinegar but I dont see it necessary. Very helpful video.
I love you. I have tried 1 million different complicated, expensive and toxic ways to clean my glass. You are a lifesaver.
Happy to help
I agree completely
Thank you for the clear instructions and no fluff.
happy to help
Honestly I hate cleaning glass showers; it's such a pane.
I see what you did lol
Can you make that clearer?
I find it shattering!
😂😂😂😂😂
😂
Thank u for the tip. I’ve never thought of using water repellant in the shower glass door. It’s smart!!!!
Happy to help!
Great tips. How would you recommend removing something called efflorescence from tile grout?
This was really helpful. Many thanks. Love and peace to you from Ontario Canada.
Happy to help!
Thanks for your expertise! I live in quite a hard water area !
You are welcome 🙂
I find that wiping my glass doors after each shower also helps with the back up. I use a mixture of vinegar and water as a spray as well. Then every few minutes I use a razor blade in a bix cutter to gently scrape the areas with any scum build up. This has worked for me. I never thought of steel wool or rain-X. What a great tip!
Applying rain-x would be hard work and a bit dangerous putting enough pressure on glass doors to buff of the rain-z once it dries. Someone suggested 2 tablespoons jet-dry in a quart of distilled water, sprayed on after showering, no squeegee needed.
I’ve always buffed my shower glass doors for years no problem.
Just the information I was looking for - thank you.
you are welcome!
Thank you!! I can't wait to try.

All good. Thank you
My tip is from new. We always spray down the glass with water then squigy the glass top to bottom and wipe water off tiles with a towel you've dried yourself (stops grout getting mold)
Every shower Only takes a minute. No scrubbing ever 😊🚿
Excellent video…no fluff no nonsense! Thank you!
happy to help
Do you happen to have a link to the squeegee you used?

I have glass shower doors and they have not been a lot of work, due to two things: I do not use deodorant soap. Deodorant soaps are loaded with wax, which causes the soap scum to stick (like glue) to everything. Second, I keep a spray bottle of undiluted cleaning vinegar in the shower. About 3 times a week, after I shower and while the water drops are still on the glass, I spray the glass with the vinegar and squeegee. That's all I have to do to keep the glass looking pristine.
I see a comment here that ronaldkelley uses JetDry dishwasher anti spot and does not have to squeegee at all and his glass doesn't have water spots. I'm all for finding a way to get out of even squeegeeing so I'm going to try his tip!
Man.....why didn’t see this video when I moved in to my new home...... 8 months in but with these tips.....it will be easier going forward! Thanks

couldn’t get the stains out to save my life. this method works! great hack using the rain x. wife is happy!!
Glad you found the video valuable!
Great video! I love the tips. My shower doors were so clear when they were installed that I would think the glass broke and there was nothing there. I NEVER had to clean them or the floor. Unfortunately after more than a year, soap scum and water spots developed overnight because I used bar soap. I hope following the steps shown here will get rid of them.
I am a bit of a clean freak. But after l have a shower l have a cloth detergent and vinegar and wash the entire shower and floor. Then l give it a quick squeeze.
I wipe the walls and doors with a squeegee and clean, clean lint free cloth or faux chami. Faux chamis are great, dry fast, and never dry in the dryer but can be washed
Good job. Thank you.
You are welcome

The method I have been using for years taking a flat blade at a 20 degree angle and just go through the glass, and use a good scum remover to finish it
Also works on sinks, stove tops and kitchen countertops to keep them clean
Good stuff! Just one question, do you put water in ur steel wool? Thanks mate
Thank you!!! I have the same shower doors and I have a hard time keeping them clean.
you are welcome!
