I'm going to get this combo, will be interesting to compare to my other setups. I'm a bit of a newbie, getting back into it after a pause in fly fishing, keen to get back into it.
I got the 9' 6wt a couple of months ago but so far I don't like it so much. I have a laid-back casting style so I like rods that are a bit on the slower side. My favorite rods so far are all medium-fast but a lot more toward the medium end. The only 6wt I had was a fast rod, bought when I hadn't been casting long enough to really know what I like so I was looking for a 6wt that was medium-fast but more on the medium side. I saw lots of reviews, like this one, that said the Crosswater was medium-fast but more toward the medium end so I picked one up when it was on sale a couple of months ago. Maybe the action of the 5wt is more toward the medium end but the 6wt feels a lot more toward the fast side to me. It doesn't seem much slower than the fast action 6wt I already had. I suppose I'll use it occasionally but I'm pretty sure it will never be one of my favorites. At least it was only $59.
I have one of these and I’m not a fan tbh, then again I’m pretty new to fly fishing and I’ve never got the chance to use a nicer rod but I’ve had significant issues with my reel falling off and I can’t get it to cast very far

How about the butterstick? We need some more glass rod reviews.
What do you find to be better? Redington crossover or the Maxcatch Priemier with green Avid reel?
The very best entry level rod!
Better than MaxCatch?
@@MichealBacon yes and better quality
