How do you know if your starter need to be replaced or if its the starter solenoid?
In my car (2009 328i) the starter and solenoid are built in together

Appreciate your videos. They’re very helpful. I have a 2011 328i no start, no crank. All I get is a click from the starter once I push the start button. The battery checked good, I replaced the Kl.30 relay, disconnected the (IBS) from negative terminal. No luck. I’ll try ignition relay next. Do you think it’s the starter?

The only thing I haven’t done is tap the starter with a wood block and disconnect the IBS. Gonna take a break before I take a bat to the car
When it clicks once but wont start or crank is the starter!
I have the same exact problem on a 2008 335XI E90. I replaced the battery and the KI.30 relay and also checked the Battery safety terminal (the terminal was OK). Was yours a starter issue. I hope it won't cost too much if it is! Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hi where is the ACC wire or fuse on BMW E90 to tab radio red wire into? That is when you put the key in the radio should start without pressing the start button. I am having hard time finding a ACC fuse or wire

Check crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor
I drove onto the lift and replaced the crank pulley because it had the pulley clutch gone. After replacing the pulley, it wouldnt start? No errors on the diagnostics apart from engine starting, starter problem. Cant get it to start again. Any suggestions please

Can you show what happens when you try to start the car? Would be very helpful. What's the year and exact model? E90 335i? E90 328? The fuse panel isn't always the same. And sometimes the actual production date makes a difference in fuse and equipment changes. It's might be better to tell us about the fuses and what the picture looks like on that fuse chart in the glove box. I can't tell what those icons represent. LOL
Hi I have a 2008 M3 E90 All electrical has stopped only thing what works hazard light interior light and headlights nothing else works no door locks no windows or mirrors and nothing when trying to put key in ignition even remote key does nothing like everything is dead...I have fitted a new car battery tried little blue wire next to battery tried extra earth and live nothing and help many thanks

I have a 2009 bmw 328i I’ve been having issues ever since I put new battery I never coded , can i get some advise ? Do I need to code the battery or register it ? Or my starter is going bad ? The batter shows when I get it tested low cca replace battery so I don’t know if it’s the battery issue or because I didn’t code battery when removing
If you don't code the new battery. You will continue to have intermittent issues with the vehicle not starting or battery drain.

Hi I have a bmw 2007 x3 3.0si . I replaced the valve cover gasket and it fired right up . But with a eml brake abs check engine (before just check engjne). I proceeded to test reset on dash than it just stalled now just cranks no firing up .

Giovani Chavez my car is actually in the shop right now. My mechanic said there was an issue causing my battery to drain. He said its most likely the starter because a new one had to be ordered. I will update you in a few days once it’s out

I have a 2007 BMW E93,325i,My Start Stop button id Dead. Unless you hold it down for 12 seconds,my diagnostic says A114 hall sensor Fault,this has been replaced along with a new Battery,all counters reset. is the cas unit faulty,many thanks Dave.

my 2006 325i won’t start. Gives me the yellow steering wheel lock warning light. I’ve tried moving the steering wheel to unlock it but no luck. Should I replace the fuse of the steering wheel or would I have to use an OBD II to reset the fault code ?

How, I have weird problems sometimes. When I insert the key fog in the ignition switch is like switch not recognizing the key and not pop up any light in the dash board. But when the car is sitting like 15-20min then I insert the key fog and is like nothing is happening everything work good. This is a random problem that I have in a 2011 BMW 128i n54.

Hi last night my Bmw 2008 328xi was running fine, today I put the fob in and all the lights come on and the stereo comes on but when I push the button I hear a noise from engine compartment that I can only describe as "white noise" like a radio station not coming in clearly. And nothing else happens help please don't have the money to take it to a shop

Mine will start first with no issue or sounds, just starts up, but after that first start up and shut of the ignition just stops, only thing you hear is the battery draining? Could this be a fuse?
Hi i have a 320d E90 and the start issue is comes and goes have to keep putting the key in and out and pressing the start stop button and just clicks or sometimes try to turn over but wont fire then eventually if wait after about 10 attempts to start it will fire up and is fine.. any ideas? ( great videos guys 👌🏽 )

Hi , my 2006 bmw 325i would not start unless I turned the ket fob upside down and inserted several times. Now the key fob won't wake the car up to start it but it will unlock and open the trunk etc. Please help

@@Alex012371 I replaced the ignition lock assembly but that didn’t work now I’m checking out the CAS to se if the circuit board has any visual damage, but still don’t know yet

@@Vongaming12 ther were you jump the car your starter is not getting 12v to the starter check that out I had that problem follow me il soon uploaded a vidoe I just Wana save you money and time I think we all should know the problem as I did find a video

Hi, I have a problem you might be able to help me with. I have a 2006 318d m-sport which I have swapped out the factory head unit and replaced it with a pioneer the problem is it has a red wire from the harness that need to be connected to a fuse in the car for power my question is which 1 should I connect it to? obviously I need the power to be cut when the key is removed. Please please help.

Johny Nava try the relay switch, the big black one inside the same panel. The same guy has a video on it
Also if that doesn’t work try disconnecting your IBS sensor. It’s the blue clip from the negative terminal on your battery

Hi mate, I just pull up at home after driving about 30 minutes. 10 minutes later I went to start my 2007 bmw 730d, I put the key fob in to the socket all the lights, radio etc.. turned on but when I pressed the engine start button I got no engine turn over/ start, everything else remained powered up but no response to engine start. Could this be an ignition fuse like you show or something similar? Cheers John

@@joshbrowning3488 hi bud, yes I had my local trusted garage of 20 years come to my home do a few checks which I assisted with and plain and simple it was the starter motor he took car to his workshop fitted a new starter motor all done and dusted runs perfect. Cost for recovery, starter motor, labour, and vat came to £309 what a relief when I got my car back😁😁😁. I had to wait about 3 days for them to get the part and slot in the fitting time

When I first put my key in the ignition, nothing happens, I hold the start button for 10 seconds or so and the engine starts up, but no power inside, clocks don't work, interior lights, nothing on the dash, nothing on the climate control, no electric seats, and no power steering? Only thing that works is the radio a d driver side window controls, this is very strange, it's a 2008 e92 320d, anyone have any ideas?

My e90 330d won’t start.. when I put the key in the ignition and press the start button I get no ignition lights and then the iDrive powers off.. all other electrics work (windows, radio etc) will changing these fuses solve the issue? Battery is fine

So i have a 2007 335i manual trans. It just suddenly died on me and wouldn't start. Power and all was ok. Towed it to a shop, dude told me the starter was gone, wanted $1000. I took my car back and installed the starter myself. It started once, had a rough idle, but did not start after. It makes a click sound, lights and all come on, but won't start.
Starting to think maybe i blew a fuse or something. Any ideas what it could be?
Maybe try replacing the Kl. 30g relay and checking the starter fuses
Any luck on the fix?

My 750 Li has a warning light ignition malfunction warning warning do not turn off engine it may not be possible to restart the engine do you have any idea what the issue may be?

That humming noise is the car priming your fuel pump. It sometimes does it when you unlock the car too.

I currently have a 2008 bmw 1 series 120d E82 on 130k...
Recently the car has been temperamental on start up when sometimes, after pressing the on/off button and the ignition coming on with the dash lights coming up... when pressing the button again to turn the engine on, the car just makes a "click" sound and wouldn't turn over... after a few trys pushing the on/off button, the engine would come on....
One day after driving the car, I turned the car off and got out as usual... when I got back in and inserted the key, there was nothing, nothing on the dash and no ignition lights at all.. like the car was completely dead or not recognising the key?..
But the keyfob works fine...
locks and unlocks, boot open button works, windows go up and down normally (Not slow from a low battery) parking lights, hazards, and interior lights all work.. but I'm worried that the battery will now run flat from the car not being turned on for days, not allowing me to plug a reader in due to having no battery and the keyfob not turning the ignition on...
The car recently had it's timing chain replaced anf injectors re-seated. I have also had the car scanned no longer than 4 weeks ago which brought up faults codes for the CAS system such as..
• A125 - Incorrect signal from E/M
• A0C1 - Output, terminal 50
• A0B5 - Fault, road speed signal
• A0B3 - Starter motor, terminal 50
• A0AF - Processor
• A11E - ELV fault
• A0AA - Control unit fault
• A0B2 - Supply, terminal 30E/30L
I've been so puzzled and trying to figure out what to replace first...
Here are my options so far from researching forums in Google and watching various UA-cam videos.....
• Check ignition and other fuses under dash
• Replace Battery and have coded in
• Replace Battery terminal
• Replace starter motor
• Maybe look at replacing the Alternator..?
• Replace and have coded in a whole ECU kit including modules, keyfob and keyfob reader
I have intermittent start.
Battery new, starter new, alternator new.
Car will run great then nothing. Has parasitic battery drain.
Fuses all fine. Replaced relay in fuse box in glove box.
The e90 is the worse car BMW ever designed. Very poor electrical design. Junk that has left me stranded multiple times. Shame on BMW.
