Thank you. I agree but in this situation we were moving her into her dorm room almost 2 hours away from home and I didn't have an iron with me. Sometimes we just get by with what we have.
@@TheNiftyNester Yes, I get that for sure. Over time some of the fold lines will loosen. You did a good job mom…..and gave a lot of people a good idea. 😊
Aww so cute. What a fantastic idea with the broom sticks now that is thinking outside of the box. Very sweet of you to do that for her and I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend ❤️
Girl so glad I found you, and this idea you did. This was wonderful cheap and to easy just what I was looking for. Thank you for this hack, this is love…. I truly thank you , I was searching for something like this, this is it. Thanks so much….🔥
That's a good idea. They held up fine but we were using those lightweight sheets so it wasn't anything heavy putting weight on the broomsticks. If you have heavier curtains though that might be necessary.
Omg thank you so much! The light in my apartment bedroom drives me crazy, especially when I have migraines. I only wish I had seen this video when I was still in college lol. Thanks again! 💜💜💜
You're welcome, thank you for watching! I feel your pain. Migraines are so debilitating, I hope you find some relief. Dorm windows are just tricky to cover, especially with cinderblock walls and no drilling allowed.
Nah fam. You did that. When you added them fake plants it looks gorgeous. Like very zen vibes even. I loved it. Thank you for the idea dear. Love from The Netherlands.
You're welcome! I'm glad this was helpful! I did another tutorial where I made wooden rods for my living room and I was having the same problem, some of the ones in stores were well over $100! I think I spent less than $15 each on those, but these DT ones are by far the least expensive.
I looked in to those before going this route but read so many reviews where people said they didn't hold up well. Also didn't feel like a tension rod would work well for a window this wide.
I know she opened the curtains regularly but I think she just pulled them back, I don't know that she ever slid the curtain all the way back and forth to open them. I did share us hanging the plants in the full dorm room makeover video if you want to check that out, but I didn't go in to a ton of detail. We just draped them across the rod, leaving some hanging off on the sides. We made adjustments until it looked right to us.
You can definitely use a dowel. I have another video where I used dowels for my living room curtain rods if you'd be interested in that. Here's the link ua-cam.com/video/zXGXsDuK2S0/v-deo.html
Are you referring to the ones I used on the wood curtain rod? If so, I ordered them from Amazon. They are the best priced ones I've ever found that are good quality and they have held up well. Let me find the link for that video, I believe the rings are linked in that description. I can't remember the brand name.
ua-cam.com/video/zXGXsDuK2S0/v-deo.html Here's the link to that video where I linked the curtain rods. I don't think I'm allowed to link the actual curtain rings in the comment section but they are linked in the description of that video.
It held up through her freshman year, at the end of freshmen year she moved back home to finish school and didn't need them anymore but they were up until the day we moved her back home.
Thank you! The greenery is from Amazon, it comes with a ton in the package. I think I only used 1/4 of the package on this window. www.amazon.com/dp/B06XVRDV67/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mqOgEbKWNJ35E
Hey Krissy, I just realized yesterday that the sheets I have been using aren't listed anymore. They have all the other sizes but not the twin size. I used the utopia twin size flat sheet. I'm hoping they're just having trouble stocking them right now. I'm looking for them elsewhere and I'll let you know if I can find them.
What a wonderful idea! I’m putting curtains across the width of my basement to separate the storage area from living space. Thank you so so much for this idea!
Hi. May I ask where did you purchase the lights and the vines on the curtains? I'd like to buy them. Thanks for this awesome idea. I have so many windows and didn't want to put holes in the wall.😁
You're welcome, thanks for watching and I'm glad this was helpful! I just added the links in the description of this video for the vines and lights, sorry I didn't have them there before. I ordered them off of Amazon.

This is excellent. I've bought some decorative door knobs to attach to the rods to give it a bit of a decorative look. Thank you!!!

This was way better than i thought it would be. I'm doing this asap
THANK YOUUUU!!! I will actually be doing this to my classroom walls.
Glad I found this video. I've been looking for inexpensive ways to have a curtain, and the broomstick idea is great.
Thank you!
I would also wrap the blue piece in some white sturdy tape just to make sure
