After MUCH research, I decided to use your ideas on the curtains. I've ordered the curtains and made some tie backs, but I have one question: How are your command hooks holding up after the summer months? Btw, I despise those ugly box valances, too.
@auntielar They are holding up perfect! I am very impressed. That said I know some people have had problems with command products so maybe just keep that in mind. Unless you've had luck with them in other areas of your rv, than go for it!
Great video! I have a 2005 5th wheel with window valances covered with fabric chosen by a funeral director. Half of the cords of the blinds are broken. Time for a change!

I agree 100% that having curtains and/or drapes in your RV makes it look more homey and those raw wood bead tie backs are SO boho chic! Our style preferences are clearly the same as I can honestly say that I would be choosing the exact same pieces if we were in an RV today. I am a fairly newbie sub to your channel, but have been saving your videos like mad so I can refresh myself when we get our RV. Our plan is to go full-time RV once we retire. As we have been living in the Arctic since January 2008, (who moves to the Arctic in the dead of winter? 🥶) we want to visit family across Canada during the nice months and then chase the sun in the winter. We have five years until retirement and think that 21 years with eight months of winter qualifies us to enjoy that lifestyle. LOL Hugs from the NWT in Canada’s Arctic❣️❣️🇨🇦
I love the idea of the fabric tape. Just a little suggestion, your curtains could use a quick steam to remove the wrinkles and folding creases! Also I noticed you had 3 different nail colors throughout the video lol, just gave me a little laugh. Thank you for sharing:)

However I have washed them since and the wrinkles came right out and hang nicely now 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ This video took me a while to finish becausecI did the curtains in batches to fit my budget lol. I'm pretty sure the nail colors transition from winter to spring. Also grown out and raggedy...😬
Doesn’t it make such a big difference?! It’s amazing! Looks SO good! That fabric tape!!! OMG! I’m gonna have to use it sometime. I HATE sewing! For our curtains, we happened to find the perfect curtains on sale at Home Goods. My stepmom is a wizard at sewing! We cut the curtain material to size and she sewed all the tabs on and hemmed them. Our trim was the same way. We keep all scraps we take off to reuse elsewhere as well. I love how your kitchen curtains turned out. So cozy and warm. I still have to get mine up in there and in the bedroom.
I hung a tapestry a few years ago using command hooks. It bothers me that you can see the top of the strip. I was thinking of trying to paint them with wall paint. I didn’t know Command made a curtain rod hook. I’m glad I came across video. I’ll have to see if I can find them black, the rod is black.
Beautiful! We bought a 20 year old rv recently and the very first thing I did was remove those hideous window boxes. Besides being bulky and ugly, they were filthy.
How have you found the command strips holding during travel? They do say to put Command Strips on a smooth flat surface but I have put their broom holders on the slightly dimpled wall paper in an RV but only drove without the broom in the holder just in case. Have you put any road time on your application of curtains?
They hold up incredibly well for me. I just can't say enough about them! Our walls are also slightly textured and I didn't know that they say not use on textured walls 😆...Anyway my command Broom holders have been up for 3 years and we always travel with the broom and mop in. I did put up 2 for each, one at the top and one at the bottom because I thought the broom or mop would move around and mark up the wall. Regarding the curtains They have been up about 2.5 months, we travel every week so that's a total of 10 travel days. They haven't fallen down once and we've driven some real doozies...I-10 ugh, I-40, I-80 😖🥴 I had things flying around everywhere but the curtains held strong! Highly recommend 👌👍
Thank you for sharing. I really want to try this. Have you changed a curtain or a shower curtain that came with the RV or camper? Ours came with bunks that have a curtain hanging from a track and the shower curtain hangs from a track. I am trying to figure out how to change them and I am worried about messing it up. I cannot find any help so far on google.
You're welcome! We did take our glass shower door down and replaced it with a curtain. It was pretty easy, just a matter of taking screws out and lifting the track out. We sealed the screw holes with silicone and put screw caps on. I think the curtains on the track would be just as easy. If you take your time you shouldn't mess anything up! 😊
My mom ironed everything, including curtains after washing. I do not. The curtains will de-wrinkle after hanging. (Could also lightly mist with water before hanging for faster de-wrinkling)
