I would imagine that once he has the pleasure of corals in his home aquarium it will not be long before the observatory sees corals as well. Great video as always Cam hope you and Anya are staying safe
Excellent work as always Cam. But I have to say it I had enormous anxiety watching the lights getting put on the rail over the water! I literally had to look away. 😂 addit: oop now the rock is wobbling.
Looks good. Every time you dealt with the lights I was holding my breath. Seems like putting a thin sheet of plywood over the tank while you worked on it would be safer. I'd move the mounting rail closer to the wall so wires don't have to span the gap and there isn't so much rail at the front end. Some wiremold would tidy up the wires coming down the wall, too. Even better would be to feed wires into the wall. Make for an extremely clean install.
Great video as always. Can I ask what causes the chaeto to tumble? Maybe I missed you explaining that. Do you run a wave maker in the fuge, or is it just water flow through the sump?
Hi Scott, it’s purely the flow through the sump causing the Chaeto to tumble. It will eventually stop once it has grown enough, which isn’t a bad thing. Cam
This is going to look nice...as an amateur astronomer myself I am following this build with added interest Will you print off two observatories so you can just swap them over while one is cleaned
Definitely, I think we’ll need to swap them quite often to keep them looking good, so the quick-release system that allows the observatory to come off the base is critical. Cam
I am looking into this tank to fit a spot in a new home, and my question is could you still easily access the skimmer and rear portion behind the power center from the one side. I would be putting this tank in a notch without access to the “back” and am curious if I could still access everything needed for maintenance and setup of a dosing system from one side of the cabinet
Nice setup. One question here...the pink/red light on the Sump meant for the refugium is spreading all across the sump which may definately increase algae growth on other parts of the sump. Is this sump light setup like that purposefully or it's just initial setup and later be relocated inside the refugium?🤔😊
I don’t normally try too hard to prevent the light spread over the refugium. I can usually control algae on other areas of the sump through maintenance, however if it is particularly bad I use light shields, usually out of black acrylic. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV those projectors look cool but not sure about mounting them. A coral nebula sounds awesome tho, is it to late the aquascape it kinda like that
That observatory is sitting wonky Cam, enjoyed the video though, your fairly cracking on with this install, its going to look 👀 the business when it’s all done and dusted 👍 👍🏴
Awesome video mate! Out of curiosity, what would be the maximum number of radion XR30s you could suspend from a gyprock ceiling like that? I'd assume the ceiling would give in before the spring toggles.
I’ve put 7 radions on a rail in gyprock with spring toggles. I think the ceiling hold the weight easily when you use the spring toggles, but you’d want to ensure kids and pets never try hanging off them😂
@@GalleryAquaticaTV Good man. That is handy to know - I only plan on putting up 4x XR30 but was worried about the weight. Hopefully I can do half as good a job as you :)
Sorry for the slow reply Richard. I think you get spring toggles in the suspension kits, but I normally get mine from bunnings so I can get slightly bigger ones that take more weight. Cam
You’re so quick I missed it! Plus the number 2 comment claimed the top spot (incorrectly). I was wondering what happened to you but now I see your comment. Whoops😂
First :-) It is very easy to use this chrome observartories...its..its...Okay, after 5 tries i gonna to use a ladder :) The cutter, I dont cutting out the fails :-)
Kevin, you are the most real and honest reefer on UA-cam. It’s like watching myself work.
Your brilliant. Stay real brother.
Thanks mate😊
Thank you for the video. I have to hang one of these and was happy to find you in my subscriptions. I love the longer videos
Thank you for this video it was very helpful and enjoyable to watch.

Agree. Corals will almost certainly make an appearance...

Very cool build great video 👍
Cheers😊
This epic tank build is truly intergalactic
That aquascape is great
He is talking explaining all the time what he is doing and it is not boring. You can watch interested all film.
What kind of hanging kit do you use for the ceiling without a stud wood to hang on the lighting?
Looks good.

I considered putting a safety board across the tank, but that wouldn’t have had you holding your breath😂
@@GalleryAquaticaTV Good answer!!
Awesome! Looks amazing Cam!
Another great vid on this huge hobby, keep it going.
Thanks Stephen! Cam
These Cades are amazing, too bad we don't have a local retailer that sells them :) Great video as always, those light rails look amazing!
What were the name of the bolts whatever u used for the ceiling and then needed the screw gun thanks again
We call them Spring Toggles but they probably have other names. Cam

put some meteor shower cyphastria on the observatory, it will cover it and look awesome!

Hi cam what size is the spring toggles u use? Thanks
I can’t find the other pack to get the size, but it was the smallest one available that didn’t pull through the chrome dome. Cam
Have ya seen those lazer star lights? I wonder how it would look shining on a coral tank
Interesting idea...

Yes. We use spring toggles to spread the weight to make it safe. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV but drywall can only handle like 10 pounds max no? Its not the rating on toggle bolt

How do you get the chaeto to tumble that way? Is there a technique?
