    Just bought one today from your Salisbury store after watching this video the other day. Very handy having the dual inline tds meter and the pressure gauge. Installation was also very easy. 👍

    I'm tempted to change the location of my 1st probe now. Thanks for the info 👍

    I like to run 5 tds meter probes.
    1:tap water in. Just to see how bad the water is. I’ll get anywhere from 250 tds to almost 600!!! sometimes.
    I don’t make water on 600 days. Saves the filters ya know.
    2:waste water. For proper flushing. I’ll flush until I match waste water to inlet water then stop the flush.
    3:after RO filters.
    4:after cation and anion chambers.
    5: After final mixed bed resin. This is the product water.
    I think doing this really gives me the full picture on the state of each section of the unit.
    I’d like to have one more probe in between the cation and anion but the way they are connected won’t allow it.

    Great video as always. One of the key components to a successful system. Btw, the outdoor rodi area looks like a great place for one those large Aussie spiders to hide 😀

    Great my incoming TDS from city water is 490 TDS. My DI resin exhaust fast had to upgrade to 2 DI resin

    Don't forget to rinse the carbon and the membrane separately before use, remove all the other filters and membrane whilst you rinse each one.

      Another good point, without doing this you shorten the lifespan of your resin. Cam

    how the system is running without a GPD Pump?

    Hi no mention of water pressure I think that’s vital for membrane to work properly thank you

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  3 роки тому

      Good point. I think I take water pressure for granted given where I live. Booster pumps are available in Reef Pure RO systems that negate poor water pressure. Cam

    Hey there🙋‍♂️
    the resin is a to small amount. Im using here 2x5ltr., so i can change the first chamber as soon it rises its tds. So second is going to be first and first getting new refill and goes as second then. So you are on the safer side.
    But anyhow, nice job. 💪💪

    Hi, I run the RODI unit that you replaced, but with a 3 stage TDS meter.
    So as soon as I get a reading above zero I change the resin.
    Can’t really see the point of changing the whole unit, just so you can see the resin. Did it not just need a replacement TDS meter.
    The resin and cartridges are changed routinely as a mater of regular maintenance anyway?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  3 роки тому

      We could have replaced all the parts on the old system, however it was cheaper and easier to replace the whole thing.

    Hi why did you just not change the media in other unit.

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  3 роки тому +2

      The old unit also needed a new TDS meter and I wanted to be able to see the resin through a clear cartridge. It was easier and cheaper to replace the whole unit than all the parts on the old unit. Cam

    I just added the 5 stage system of this to my CADE 1800 build.
    All I say is tap water is disgusting. After going from de chlorinated tap water to 5 stage RODI the difference in algae was noticeable within 3 days.

    With the RODI system outside, how is the TDS meter protected from rain etc? I'd love to place my RODI somewhere more accessible but worry about component damage. What do you recommend?

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV  3 роки тому +1

      It wasn’t protected, hence the old TDS meter didn’t work. This one we’ll cover with something to prevent the same thing happening. Cam

      I have my unit installed outdoors and use a very high quality tarp to cover the unit when not in use. Some bungee cords. Tarp. All good.

      I think its negligent of the manufacturer to make them soo fragile when it comes to water since thats the environment they live in.. the last one i bought lasted two weeks, the switch rusted out even though i tried to keep it dry.. gonna try and make a workinging one from the two broken ones i have .. lol

    Why would you install a rodi system without clear chambers? TO me all chambers should be clear so you can see when they need replaced and also that's not very much filtration. 7 stage would be more optimal with first sediment then 5 micron carbon then 1 micron carbon followed up with 3 stages of resin. 1 cation, 1 anion and last chamber mixed bed for a total of 7 stages. And also regulate back pressure on rodi membrane to get proper function on membrane.

      We sell a variety of systems depending on the customer’s requirements and the TDS of the feed-in water. We find a single resin chamber is usually enough, however the most common modification to the system is an extra resin chamber. Cam
