I think you need to pick dresses that are not so fitted. I am saying this as a plus size lady who is also quite short at 5ft 4. I wear shirt dresses myself but I put the ties at the back so they give me some shape but don't cling over the tummy. I also like bias cut dresses and often wear long jackets or long sheer jackets over the top. Had a velvet long jacket with slits up the side for a while which works well for less formal occasions. I am still trendy and have some sparkle. Just bought a beautiful black dress from Monsoon with a slip dress and a beautiful sheer lace dress over the top. You just have to try all styles until you find the right one. It is more difficult to find something that flatters if you aren't tall with a perfect figure. I find buying the right size is a must as we can't get away with tight clothes. I also prefer sleeves as my arms are not like they were when I was young. Don't lose heart. Wendy
Isn't it funny how individuals can differ so much. I do like some shirt dresses but always need the belt to give me definition at the waist. But, ive never had any luck with bias cut dresses. I will continue to search I know my dress is out there somewhere and I really like the sound of your dress from Monsoon xx
Hi Susan, personally I think the dress with the pearl collar looked lovely on you. As I always say if YOU are not comfortable in it then that's what matters the most.❤
I love the pearly black dress on you, I say it's a keeper. It's probably the best thing I've ever seen you in. Might try one on myself. Edit. At the end, you said you sent it back. Ohhh well, I understand.
Hi Susan, I have seen some ladies try on a fabulous velvet trouser suit from M and S that you could dress up and down as separates if you wanted. Also I really hate popper fastenings, they used to be on my nurses uniform until they upgraded them to zips. You can imagine the situations that used to arise with all the bending and stretching that nursing requires!
Welcome home Susan, it's good to have you back. Sorry to hear about your camera, that's pants! You have chosen 4 great dresses but they each have their limitations on fit. I liked number 3 the best xx
Hi sweetie welcome back. Aww that’s a shame that they didn’t fit right because they are really pretty. I think the sequins and leather are stunning. The leather shows off your best features. The only thing about the teal is it looks like it’s pulling. Now that is on the smallest part of your tummy so it doesn’t make you look heavy but you always look so perfect that you shouldn’t settle for what isn’t. Again I think the leather is so figure flattering but I understand about the pop out. So once again if you think it’s a problem or that you can do better than don’t settle for less.
Hi Susan, such a pity none of the dresses were as you hoped, I think the vegan leather actually looked good on camera, but get what you're saying about the poppers! xx
Hi Susan , good to have you back , glad you enjoyed your cruise but sorry about your camera 😩. Well what a disappointing haul , I really like the little black dress but it was too short and looked out of proportion. The leather would work in a size up , that material is so unforgiving . I too have gained weight and many of my winter clothes from last year are tight , why do I always do this to myself 😡❓ I am a comfort eater and that does not help matters .. Anyway Susan. Keep well and warm and see you in the next one , much love 🥰 💐
Hi Sue, it's freezing 🥶 can't believe I was swimming in turquoise seas 10 days ago. The cold makes you hungrier, I crave the comfort foods like stews with dumplings and puddings with custard and of course all the christmas goodies are in abundance at the moment. take care and make sure you stay well ❤️
Morning Susan I don’t think any of the dresses were right for you but I glad you had a lovely cruise i off week to Florida thanks again for sharing your haul Susan xx
Hi Alana, so disappointed that m and s my now go to shop has let me down like this. I loved Disneyland but don't suppose that's the real Florida, which area are you going to? x
Evening Susan. The Teal dress is a gorgeous colour but does 'pull' on you. What a shame, as the skirt flow was lovely, but you could do better. I always size up with sequin pieces. Even so, the designers had a miss with Dress 2. The concept was great though😞 I actually REALLY loved the Black pearl dress, if only it had a couple more inches to the length. It looks lovely on you, and I'd definitely consider buying that . I'm not, personally, into faux leather but ,maybe, it would work in a size up? I know the feeling of missing the sun. We have 30-40+ degree Summers, and it takes time to adapt to Winter. Still, I'm loving Winter Christmas Markets., and buying jumpers! ( we used to live in Australia and 'Summer Christmas ' arent the same 😆)
Hi Jacqueline, it's the conception that all Australians spend xmas day on the beac, is it true, lol? I think I would enjoy that but the recent snow has made me feel more festive and couldnt imagine wearing my winter jumpers in that heat lol xx
@@susanknight7091We used to gather with friends, and have a BBQ on the beach, yes. I love the Sea and sunshine, so it was fun! ( much of Australia is nowhere near to the sea though!) Seeing Santa, in a boiling hot Shopping Mall, was just bizarre. I worked, as a Midwife, throughout 2 Christmas'. Then I met my family and friends ,for a Turkey dinner at our house, after work. My poor husband suffered, whilst cooking in that heat 😂 😂 We just had to enjoy what we had but, as a Brit, I love crisp cold Christmas's. Christmas Markets and Pantomimes and seeing The Nutcracker ballet, yearly ( There's none of that in Australia.) Plus getting dressed up in my coats to go out. I guess it depends on your upbringing, and what you're used to
Hi Susan Tbh I didn’t like any of those dresses suited you really. I love that faux leather dress myself but begrudge paying that amount for a dress . All the best and see you in the next one xx
Hi Rhian, totally agree. None for me so they were all returned though id definitely have paid for the leather dress had it fit and flattered me as it was gorgeous xx
Sweaty, pleather, faux leather, just plastic. I wear polyester running shirts, they are plastic but are breathable due to the weave, but pleather is solid plastic yuk! I agree, I would not wear these sweaty fabrics
The blue dress is a beautiful color but unfortunately it's not especially flattering. I love the brown sequin dress but again it's not a flattering fit and the quality is lacking. The brown is a beautiful color, though. The black dress is fine, but I would wear high boots with it. It looks somewhat "school girl" with the low heel shoes you've got on now. And I don't think the vegan leather dress would look very good on anyone! I'm sorry but it reminds me of the head matron in a woman's prison! There is really nothing feminine about it and it's extremely casual. (Actually I'm not fond or real or faux leather clothing. Not sure why.) Since these dresses didn't work out for you, what I would do is pair a skirt and nice blouse together as a holiday outfit. That is a much easier option for fit than a dress. And I think it would be more comfortable.
Hi, whole haul was a big fail, ive since been into store and seen some much nicer items but they never have my size available😤. Ive literally just filmed some separates for an upcoming haul video and they weren't successful either 😏 But you did make me laugh about the black leather dress comments and totally see where your coming from xx
On the contrary, you have pretty hair and it's a lovely colour. The styles of the clothes were underwhelming with or without shapewear. I don't think they were flattering for anyone. A V neck line suits you , what about a midi dress in something like velvet, with a sleeve, to wear with heeled boots to show off your neat, slim ankles. I think that would look lovely.
Hi June, thank you for your kind comments. I was actually wearing shape wear but that just contains the issues, unfortunately nothing could actually make them disappear 😏. I've accepted these dresses were not for me, but cinderella shall go to the ball lol xx

Hi Margo, it was a great dress but in hindsight too short for comfort lol xx
Hello Susan, the black velvet dress with pearl neckline looked lovely on you.
Hello, the pearl was the best of a bad bunch but im afraid none were for me xx
You look best in the pearl black dress ,it’s very flattering , I really good lol on you .
That's good to hear, thank you xx
The black one with pearls looked the best, but I feel it looked a bit too short. Had it been a couple of inches longer it could have worked.
Totally agree, once I reviewed the footage could see it so much clearly and it was returned 😏 x
@@susanknight7091 shame because you have really nice legs😊
Just delightful as ever ❤
thank you x

Hi, thank you for the glowing compliment but unfortunately too short for comfort x
The short black was the most flattering, but a few inches too short.
Hi Marian, I know when I reviewed footage and saw how short I knew it wasn't for me, thank goodness for opaque tights lol xx

Hi Fran, uniform no doubt designed by a man! It was actually the velvet suit that I was looking for but sold out in my size 🥲x
@ I think you’re right about the uniform! What a shame about the suit x
Love the pearly neck dress on you…gave me Jackie O vibes x
WOW, yes definitely a vintage feel about the dress, but reviewing the footage I realised how short it was! 🫣 xx
@ 😂just don’t put your arms on the air or bend over!

Hi Rhian, thank you, glad to see family but not so glad to be home lol xx
Hi Susan, the vegan leather dress was my favourite , i think maybe asda and matalan have some really nice pieces for party wear, ,x💕
Hi Marianne, I'm so disappointed that m and s let me down so thank you I will give Asda and Matalan a chance xx

Hello Susan, Sorry to say I agree with you - the dresses didn't flatter you.
Onwards and upwards 😘

Hi Susan. I thought the dress with the pearls looked gorgeous on you. The other 3, sorry, but I don't think they were for you. xx
Hi Jean, in the end none for me as the pearl one was definitely to short for comfort xx
Thx for inspiring me ❤
Hi Margaret, would be interested to know what you are thinking about getting? x
Oh no Susan didn’t like any of the evening dresses at all but the leather dress was nice but maybe size up ?

I don’t know that I could wear a plastic dress
