❤Leopard dress looks good ,try an open black jacket or cardigan with it (as you are conscious about your hips ) and possibly a belt ,boots would look good too . Alas if you feel that any of that doesn’t work for you …… get an enormous silly hat with a feather😂 …. People will be too busy gorking at the hat to notice your hips . I also liked the slash neck top , also the first sweat top and joggers looked good too . Another good disguise for drawing the eye upwards is a scale 😊

Susan I love a boat neck top it is far more flattering than the crew neck so felt the navy top really suited you. Joggers looked great perfect length and a great addition to your wardrobe which will look nice with the BlackBerry top. Not keen on the green tops. The khaki pant nice but need larger size. The dress was really nice f the bias cut of the skirt does make hang a bit oddly perhaps Shakespeare or a petticoat may help but if it were me I would keep it - it would look great with boots. Overall a lovely M&S haul ❤❤❤

    Hi Susan
The empire line which is a seam from under the bust ant it can go from the side of the dress to the other and can also form a seam to accentuate the bust. The dress was beautiful on you but it did not do you any favours at all like it would done but it’s because I had bowel surgery that I inherited this bigger tummy
Imust say that the clothes that you bought for this haul are beautiful . The slash neck was perfect on you. The blackberry top looked well with the denim skirt. This is the problem with sizing in general that no two sizes are alike. I can be a size 24 in yours but an 18 in next .khaki and sage green compliment each other perfectly. It’s trials and tribulations with it all
All for now and enjoy your week ahead. See you in the next one x

Hi Susan. I really like the first sweatshirt, jogging bottoms, blue top, and dress. The others I'm not sure about.❤

Hi Susan! Lovely haul, I think M&S is great for basics like these. And those trousers are a great shape on you. 😙👌So here are my thoughts. I am not a fan of sweatshirts if I'm honest. I think knitted jumpers always look more stylish but that's maybe just me... of the two you bought the purple one was definitely a better shape, and as you rightly said has a bit more style to it. The khaki trousers were a good colour, but I think you do need the 20. The legs were fine, but you could tell the waistband was a bit snug, even under a top, which made them less flattering. The black joggers looked nice though. Re: matchy matchy, I'm afraid I'm definitely in the 'frumpy' camp! I think if the colours are a close a match you can get away with it as a monochrome look, but different shades of the same colour can be aging I think. Treat khaki as a neutral, it looks great with so many colours - pink is always a winner. Thank you for sharing Susan. I love your hauls. XX

The black joggers are fine when it comes to the length. And the fit is perfect! And even if they did shrink a bit after washing I'm not sure with joggers it's a big deal one way or another. They are extremely casual and not meant to be perfect.
I do like the "green outfit" and the fit looks good. They are really nice colors. Remind me of the color "mossy"! 🙂 And with the coat, it's quite pretty!
I don't consider various tones to be "matchy, matchy". That is the style now with different tones of the same color palette like beige with white and cream. All are of the same color palette, but look great styled together. I'm thinking the "matchy, matchy" idea comes from outfits that are sold with a skirt/pants and a matching, flowered top. You do see outfits like that aimed at women of a certain age on line and in the stores.
I'm 74 now and wear various tones layered and always get compliments and I feel I look my best! I think that as we age having layers of the same tones with one stand-out piece like a bright scarf, or bright sparkly jewelry, or red lipstick, or colorful shoes or bag are a great way to show our individuality without looking like we are trying too hard.
My opinion is that some styles and outfit pairings are for young women and we should try to move ahead of that as we age. We don't need to try to wear every look that we see younger women wearing.
The leopard dress fits very nicely and is quite flattering and gives you some nice definition. The fact that it's a bit tight at the hips actually helps with the that definition and doesn't look baggy. I love the swing of the skirt too! That skirt actually balances out the little bit of snugness at the hips. It does look great!
Obviously, we all have parts of our bodies that we become preoccupied with and just hone in on that one part, ignoring how nice the entire "picture" looks! When something is baggy on anyone, it just adds the illusion of more weight or bulk. When an item of clothing has a bit more fit, it gives the illusion of slimness. And that's what styling clothing is all about - creating illusions!
And YES SUSAN! Get a full length mirror! How can you get an accurate idea of your outfit without one!!

Susan, I’m still after those green trousers too. It’s driving me mad that they haven’t restocked. It seems ridiculous!!!!! Grrrr usually I shop online but I even went into our local store last week and had a look and they haven’t got them either, in fact, they didn’t have any of the colours! Although I did have a run with two overpacked overheavy rails of jeans that fell, nearly knocked me over,so that was interesting!😮
By the way, I should’ve said I thought the green trousers looks great on you as long as your top is longer and maybe slightly looser but yeah, I would definitely keep them!!!! ❤
I had to edit again as I love matchy matchy and I make no apology for it LOL! I’m 60 and I just find it really hard to mismatch rather than toning! Susan, why don’t you try finding a nice fine multicoloured scarf that will tone and bring everything together?
Sorry, not a fan as dress although the animal print really suit you

Another fab video again although I wouldn’t pair all the green together I do think it’s too matchy matchy. I think maybe some dark blue jeans and a white/cream top would be lovely with the green coat. Not a fan of leopard print (although the dress fits really well) I much prefer the burgundy trend at the moment.
    Hope you’re well xx

Hi Susan, I really love the blackberry sweatshirt, bonus pockets too! Green is one of my fave colours, you look like the green queen ( that was a kids book in the 90s I think?) not the jolly green giant! 😂

Im just about to watch this but wanted to comment this, whilst I remember .I'm the same height ,and dress size, as you. I've tried M&S wideleg trousers and tapered ones, just recently. The wide legged pair didn't suit me, as I looked shorter and felt clownish. (YOU don't look clownish at all. I'm NOT saying that, just how I felt !!).The tapered ones made me look taller and slimmer, I guess because they only gently 'tapered' down to the bottom. And the bottom wasnt TOO tapered. Just an idea to try. Off to watch this ❤️

Hi again. Watched It. I loved everything, up to the green sweatshirt and trousers. Sorry but I don't like them, especially the green colour or neckline. LOVE the blackberry colour! I don't like sweat shirts. The green top is nice but, like you, I don't suit a crew neck top. Tonal dressing looks classic and elegant,( IF the colours are VERY close and match! Such as Winter whites,) I don't , personally, like all different tones together ( I'm 60) I love the dress, it's very flattering, with a lovely bias cut skirt

Would the dress look good with mid length boots?

    • @garmtpug
      @garmtpug Місяць тому

I think the dress could be styled in various ways. High boots, as you suggested, a black or darker blazer, or for a more casual look a jean jacket or moto jacket, a long open-front cardigan, or possibly a longer scarf that has one of the colors of the print in it. I'm a fan of breaking up prints to give the outfit a more lengthened look. Being only 5', I have to figure out ways to give myself more length wherever possible! LOL!

Hi Susan, I like the blackberry sweatshirt , the navy boat-neck tee, the black joggers look good, BUT, the pockets create a bulge 😬. The dress is quite nice, but seems to not hang properly at the front 🤷‍♀️A good haul though 😀

Good morning sweetie. I wanted to get your opinion on an advice comment I made. I have been watching hauls for nurses/medical scrubs because I think they are cute and I have tried to get a job at an animal hospital. There is a nurse that looks like she lost a lot of weight and has been always tucking in her scrubs. She posted a short that says tucked or untucked? I’m rethinking tucking in my scrubs and she wants people’s opinion. The video starts with her top out and she says, I’m trying to convince tucking it in. Don’t do it. Then she does. She might have been joking but I said that it’s what she likes and tucked is so cute but untucked looks nice. I thought about it and added I feel like gee I’m being a big help but I want to be supportive. Personally I say tuck it in and you might have been joking but if you are really trying to stop yourself from tucking in the top and want it out I don’t want to try to convince you to do the opposite. There was a channel that was probably the first or tied for first to make me think that it looked good on plus size and everything changed for the better. For the longest time Sarah loved being tucked in and she said many times that it was her go to style. Then she started saying that some tops would look good untucked and sounded like she wanted to try it and expand her comfort zone. I told her to go for it because she would tuck out tops to show the length and I told her that it looked good. She knew just like you that I would tuck everything and on some videos I said the outfit would look nice tucked meaning for me and IF she still wanted to do it at times. Someone replied why do you tell her to tuck it in on every video? It’s creepy. I said I NEVER Told Anyone to do it or how to dress I meant me and IF she wanted to do it sometimes. So I’m self conscious and try never tell anyone that they should style a certain way.

Hi Mariska, sorry for late reply, ive been on holiday. You should not doubt yourself or let anyone else tell you to not do something. Your opinion is your opinion and you have the right to say what it is, some will listen some will not but if it's what you feel then don't retreat. I hope you have got over this upset now and haven't been worrying about it 💐🫶🏻❤️
