@@marialanchester8180 I saw an article in a newspaper headed, 'Not for the fainthearted - Yul Brynner returns to the London stage.' Booked my theatre ticket right away. Like Nureyev, he was very generous with letting people look at him.
Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen are just outstanding in their acting and so natural. The Magnificent Seven is one of my favorite western movies. Thank you.
I'm 51 years old, and watching these short films again makes me realize that we're not eternal. Before 50, I didn't realize time and now I know that life is short.
Yule Bryner and Steve McQueen. They were so natural, talented, nonchalant and born actors. The Magnificent Seven was so Magnificent that I watched it atleast Seven times!
Based on Japanese, master instructor, Akira Kurosava original, and one of the best film made ever: The seven Samurais! Filmed in black and white and with a fantastic ending, fight scenes in pouring rain!
They were all magnificent. Loved Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, and Eli Wallach, they were brilliant. Also loved James Coburn, and Charles Bronson played a great part as well. Powerful men in a powerful movie.
I was lucky to read the transcript of main quotations from the film, and also the original Kurosawa´s The Seven Samuraiys. All the heroes were excellent, bearing the most remarkable features of the and era the people involved. May God give them peace and many thanks for all the pople involved in the making of those films, the Western and the Japanese historical film of swordmanship. Paul, 68.
Watched so many movies with my husband. I adored Yul Brynner in the King and I. Charles Bronson was a favorite of ours, Sure wished I could turn time back. My husband was still alive then. When I see one of those old movies being played, I watch them over and over again. Hollywood brought us some great movies. I remember them all, but for the life of me, I can't remember the names of actors playing now. Guess they don't leave a impressing on me. Every time a movie with John Wayne came on, I had no choice but to watch it, no matter how many times I seen it. My husband was a big fan of him. He never got tired of watching his movies over and over again. Always pretended how much I liked his movies. But I got really tired of watching those same movies again and again, just to please my husband. Sure miss all those actors. They were all great. The reason they all dead now, is because of Eve. She just had to eat that apple.Even in those days, a women had the power to seduce her man. And what did he do? He blamed her. Typical man.
Yul Brynner & Steve McQueen from the very first scene with both of them to the end. I loved this movie. I watch the first part every time it's on TV. And the theme song really enhances the story and the action.
Brynner 's voice , diction and confidence in dialogue delivery, is incomparable. Not that Steve Macqueen or Coburn are far behind. The cast was the reason, the movie was a hit.
The best appealing to me about this classic film is its true energetic musical theme I can listen to over and over again as often as I have a chance. 🌞🕊️❤️👍🙂
Yul Brynner . There’s something about him - some kind of calm at his centre, which shines thru. Eli Wallach - something about him also, in a different way. With Lee Van Cleef ( & Clint Eastwood )in tgtbatu - he was great. Charles bronson , Robert Vaughn, James Coburn, what an amazing era .
One of my all-time favorite movies!!! I particularly enjoyed James Coburn as Britt. Steve McQueen did a great job as well. It's a shame Brynner had little respect for him. The Elmer Bernstein score is legendary!!
Many excellent actors & personalities in this Giant of a Western but, for me, NO ONE could touch Yul Brynner for terrific charisma and a voice that SHOULD have belonged to Darth Vader. His voice alone commands respect, just like James Earl Jones.
My all time favourite movie...the movie so touched deep down into our hearts...so remains the super classic ever...Yul Brynner and Charles Bronson...!!!
Although he was the bad guy, my favorite character Calvera played by Eli Wallach. This role probably accelerated his career in movies and television. He is one of my all time favorite actors.
One of the best cowboy movies of all time. Yul Brynner was outstanding. Steve McQueen also. Robert Vaughn another standout performance, Eli Wallach I could go on and on. I love the scene at the beginning when Yul agrees to drive the hearse with Steve McQueen to Boot Hill. They played the scene so cool.
There will never be such a sensationally different, yet perfectly matched movie star in this story again! The music of the film is also impressive. They are inimitable!
So many greats - but given that it was so long ago (1960) not surprising they have all left us. But it was very special to see them all again and remember these roles and others they played.
Each one of all the seven is unique in character of its own, hence they were so, called 'The Magnificent seven', one of my favourite Cowboy movies for many years and i truely enjoyed watching it during that time!!
Magnificent cast Magnificent movie great music sad that they are all gone i was only 4 in 1960 but truly loved this movie later when i saw it is in my top 5 movies.
To think I was born when this move came out, I saw it in the 70's. And now they are all gone, how time passes. How fast it came and went. When we were young time had no meaning, now, well I wish there was more.
They were the Magnificent Seven for a reason, the Actors were Magnificent. ALL of them, to pick one favorite is almost impossible. Mine is a tie with Yul, Robert, James and Eli, if I can even go that far. Movie is a 15 out of a 1-10 scale.
The music was incredible. I think that that was the real reason for the success of The Magnificent Seven. I like all of the actors especially Charles Bronson and Yul Brynner. I have a Brynner story. He came to watch a movie in Toronto, Canada, during the winter. An usher who was working the line of ticket holders, recognized him and told him that he didn't need to wait in line, that he was more than welcome to come into the lobby of the University theatre, where it was warm and dry. Yul Brynner thanked the usher and said: "If all these people have to wait outside then, so will I." He was an amazing character, in real life, not jus on the big screen.
Helloo! Fascinating faces all of them, Eli Wallace stands out with his speciality , his smile. I sculpt portraits in clay so I am always looking at faces. I will remember Eli's eyes and their corners, and the broad smile with a rather small mouth opening. I wonder if this smile is taken from a film?
This movie and The Great Escape (with McQueen, Coburn & Bronson) were the two most requested movies to be played during exam weeks @ Univ. of Rochester (NY) in the mid-60s - and are two of my personal favorites! Vince was my favorite and although I'm into Cowboy Action Shooting, I'm really a rifleman. And this film should always be in the Top 10 Westerns of all time.
It was and still is an outstanding movie. I grew up watching most of these guys. My "favorites" would be Brynner and McQueen, but Bronson and Vaughn run very close. James Coburn just stands out in anything he did. When you have a collection of talent like this it is very hard to select just one or two. This was a true classic. Thank you for bringing this to us as it gave us some very good details about them we would not have known.

Yul Bruner is my favourite for sure. He was so macho and a really attractive, cool, dude.
I loved Yule,s voice he was lovely.
I agree, I was in love with Yul Bruner because he made bald sexy. He is the reason I think bald me are sexy!

Seven times? Are you kidding? I'm 70 years old and I've must have watched this movie a couple of hundred times!❤❤
Steve McQueen was a heart throb! Too sad He left us at so young an age.
Yul Bryner my favourite followed Charles Bronzan . But all of them are absolute legends. May their souls rest in peace.
My favorite pic's too. Amazing actors 💜💜
