    I know that you have years of videos put there but I appreciate when you quickly go over something that you have previously covered. Let's be realistic, it can be hard to find certain things trying to sort through hundreds of videos. This build process allows you to cover those items with a little update. I appreciate it. Thanks

    Been beating myself up for 2 days trying to restore a very heavily mineral stained tank (my water was over 300gh) that sat in storage for 15 years. Vinegar, razor blade, very little change. Was ready to mix up some oxalic acid when I saw this video. I use bar keeper's friend all the time at home, but never read the label or considered it on glass.
    I applied a TON with vinegar and left on for 30 minutes. Looks amazing wet, imperfect dry but who cares? Thanks for sharing - my spouse needed to see just how simple setting up a QT rack is too ;)

    Just remembered as you're using an acid and your water at home was basic (hard ) the actual water you were putting into the aquarium will neutralize the acid in the cleaner to a certain degree . Now you're using soft water and will have no hardness to rely on diluting the acid in the cleaner so I would make sure those tanks are well rinsed before you add fish . Love the videos can't wait to see everything up and running

    • @dustinb1070
      @dustinb1070 3 роки тому +1

      After a fill up the dilution should take care of it. I'm sure he tests the pH before he puts fish in. I used bar keepers friend on some tanks I got from a breeder who never cleaned his tanks in years. Used a few as refugiums with no problems or hiccups.

    A small suggestion for that room, use a manifold of 3/4 or 1 inch sched 40 pvc pipe attached to the wall with stand off hangers, cap the ends ( glue optional), then drill holes to tightly insert hose with valve into for each sponge filter you want to run and the air pump. I am running 12 sponge filters off a manifold for five 50 gal tanks with 2 air pumps rated for a 20 gal and 10 gal. It will look neater and the pump won't have to work as hard to supply the air, use less hose to each filter to help air flow.

    I need to get some of that stuff. My pH out of the tap is 8.0 - 8.2. Very hard water.
    My quarantine tanks don't have substrate, but I painted the bottom so the fish can't see below them. Not sure if it makes them feel more at ease or not, but I thought it might.
