I can’t say I have a lot of respect for the anonymous complainers. If you care enough about an issue to speak up then put on your big girl pants and do it politely face to face. And you guys are doing such a fabulous job training your pups! 👏
Another tip. Turn your vehicle hvac to the off position. This causes the fresh air door to close and prevents rodents from entering the hvac compartment. It happened to a neighbor (dead mice). Had to tear the dash apart. Nasty!!!
I am so impressed with how well your pups are doing! And delighted to see that you do the same thing we do when going out the door - you go first, while the dogs are on a sit-stay (in our family, it's "Wait") until you tell them they can come down and out! Well done, and so much safer for everyone!
A quick comment about locking your trailer hitch... You did a good thing stopping and doing it before leaving for the day. My advice is always do this no matter where you are! We showed up to our locked, fenced, secure storage yard only to find someone had tried to steal our Rpod. The only thing that made it difficult enough to sway them from continuing the attempt while being on security cameras was that hitch lock. Come to find out that Rpods and Mini Winnies are in huge demand among thieves. One better solution is to apply a wheel lock to the trailer for extra security.
Great video! If the "ranger" thing ever happens again, tell him to go back to the lying nosey neighbors and tell them that without VIDEO EVIDENCE they are just troublemakers! Love you guys.
The worst thing about RVing is RV parks. That's why we don't stay in them unless absolutely necessary. Sonoita is a great area. That's my home country - Cochise County, AZ. Glad you enjoyed it.
Moved to Arizona in 1969 when I was 10 years old. We live closer to the Phoenix area on 4 acres in the desert. The Pak Rats will definitely chew the wires in your truck, food or no food. We have lived on our property for 32 years, 2 years ago was the first time the rodents got up in a car and chewed the wires in one of our cars. I put a system that senses tiny movements, it has a light the strobes and a high pitch frequency sound that deters them. I enjoy your videos very much
I think it will be a challenge to feed both dogs from one bowl. The dominant dog may eat the other's portion. It will also be tough to measure and control individual apportionments as they mature.
We have encountered piles of dog poop everywhere we have camped--even well-groomed RV parks with signs saying they have cameras & will enforce "poop scoop rules". (From the look of the campground, they obviously don't. It gets pretty disgusting in some places. But if folks have an issue, they need to first make sure the dog owner actually failed to scoop. We have 2 small dogs also, and have offered poop bags when we have seen others walk off without scooping. Most folks accept them graciously. Thank you for being responsible dog owners & good neighbors. We really enjoy your channel and now can't wait to see you & your fellow competitors on RV Unplugged every week!
With a female dog squatting to do all her business, non dog owner nosy neighbors may think #2 when it’s really #1. Good tips and explanation on the mice prevention! Thank you!
Mice and other rodents are attracted to the wrapped wiring system in vehicles were told that soy is used in the manufacture of the wrapping but it was damaged enough that we had to be towed. We learned this the hard way via $2000 repair bill after our wiring was eaten. We live in Palm Desert, CA and it is a very common problem in the desert.
That happens a lot here in West Texas maybe you need a couple of cat's ? They are constantly getting into our vehicles. We strung up flashing Christmas lights and that seems to help a little. We also have ground squirrels that do it too.
Two things. Thanks for the detailed video of unhooking. That was really informative. Second thing. Mice are not the only thing that will take up residence. When I was a kid we were coming back from a camping trip. Stopped to get gas (this is when they checked your oil and pumped your gas for you and gas was about 29 cents a gallon) the attendant asks Dad to pop the hood. The kid went to check the oil and jumped back. There was a rattlesnake that took op residence on top of the air filter. Be careful.
That scares the hell out of me! 😱 He knows where the rodents go... looking for his next meal! Thinking about a possible winter trip, I've been doing a lot of online research to see what deters both snakes and rats. Ammonia is good to repel snakes, peppermint oil for rats. However, bright flashing lights and a vibrating, high pitch sound device is what I plan to get. They do sell usb rechargeable motion activated or timed units, so that's ideal. I plan 2 in the engine and one close to the rear section. Otherwise, I would have nightmares worried about either one crawling through a hole from below! 😱
That sunrise was awesome!!! Louie & Junebug are so cute....their facial expressions are so lovable. It's no wonder the Ancient Pharaohs treasured them. Those pork chops smelled so good!
I think it's pronounced shir-a-cowa. it is so nice to get these previews of locations you visit, and I want to go now! I will be nervous to leave my trailer in the middle of nowhere like you do.... good idea to lock it up as well as you can.
I live in Arizona and mice can jump 20-30” up no problem. Keeping the hood up keeps the pack rats from nesting and eating the insulation off the wires under your hood.
I have found two squirrel nests in my engine compartment in the last year!! Now I spray a water/peppermint oil solution throughout the engine bay and each wheel well once every two weeks or after a rain day. Nothing since!!!! 🤞🤞🤞
Loving June! She is a sweet heart. And, we have had people give us the evil eye while walking Jack. Like they are watching to make sure we pick up. Picking up behind your pets is one of our pet peeves. Great video! You two are not far away from us.
Great show! Usually watch from Michigan, just to say, wires are also made out of soybeans, and what keeps the mice away is moth balls, kinda smells but only thing that works good!
This was a really fun episode!! Love it. ❤️ Boondocking can be stressful, but it is so worth it. I can't wait to hear who you like your new solar panels. We need to add to our solar, and you give the best reviews 😊
Potty training (or any kind of obedience training) a puppy is always easier when you have an older trained dog that they can learn from as the older dog kind of leads by example. BTW, the "hunting group" you saw was probably a hunting/sporting dog training certification "hunt test". It's where dog owners and trainers bring their sporting dogs to run through certain judged drills to accomplish AKC or UKC certifications for levels of training. If you had a couple of hours to observe on the day they were "running the test", it's actually fun and interesting to see the dogs going through the drills/training sets.
We had that issue with mice in our vehicles inside our garage. We got Dave’s Insanity Sauce and sprinkled it on the engine. Not a mouse ever again. Smells like tacos when you drive but it could be worse.
We loved Copper Brothel Brewery when we went last month. Good beers & and good foods. Awesome to see you all enjoying life, and June adapting to RV life. Be well.
Thank you for sharing all the realities of decisions, trial & error, false turns, and mistakes, side by side with everything that you do so carefully and the good that comes your way. It's not only very interesting that way, but we learn so much from seeing it all. Thanks again!
Loved this video! It was like a 'day in the life of A-Aron, Chris and the pups'. Very informative to see how your typical boondocking site search goes. Just got to wondering, do you ever write reviews of places you stay for Campendium?
Really enjoy learning more about AZ. We figure we’ll spend our first full-time winter bouncing around from Havasu south. Will be very interested to see your review of the 200W portable solar panel. As always, thank you!
Sounds great NVFA! Lots of wonderful place in Arizona and you can see why it's so popular for snow birds! Super RV friendly state and you can't complain too much about the weather or scenery! Liking the extra 200 watts of power so far!
New sub here, just popped onto my recommended feed on the right and that's a wrap! Really love that you are not some jumbo 68' fifth wheel crew cab driving couple traveling Europe, very believable and genuine. #soovergranddesign
I use the Reese Goosebox on my 5th wheel and I love the ride quality and weight savings in the truck. I have learned in some states it’s actually illegal to connect the breakaway cable to the hitching mechanism. I really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work. BTW, your truck is very similar to mine. I would really enjoy a video about the payload on your truck and the weights of your loaded trailer and truck. Be safe and thanks again for the great content.
It looks like Louie is doing fine out of the cage and the "June Bug" looked comfortable in the cage. Such sweet doggies! I know they are bringing y'all a lot of joy...🙂 I hope you don't have a bad tick problem this summer...Always a wise decision to lock everything up. You never know..🤐 Have fun and be careful!!
Yes it's working out well! Once June's potty trained I think we'll get a dog bed they can share in the back seat. We've been using Nexgaurd for Loiue flea and tick oral, and it's worked well. We walk in so many wooded areas!
Good morning, the proper pronunciation of the meat packers is "cheer-a-cowa", I assume it is named after the mountain range where Cochise held out against the US army; known as Cochise's stronghold. Look it up, I hauled dynamite in that area for seismagraph crews in the late 70's, lot of history in that area.
Enjoyed the content. The "desert" taco looked delish and being from AZ it looks like what is also called a navajo taco which is indian fry bread (yummm) with all the fixins. Thanks for sharing. Husband and I will have to check this hidden gem sometime.
My dream is to live in a van with a basenji 🙏❤️ so beautiful to see your adventures, makes me so excited for my future. Great to see how basenjis behave in van-life 😍
Like this video and the spot you are in. It reminded me of Buenos Aires national wildlife refuge a little west south from there. As well a great spot to stay for free.
As a former dog walker, I’ve had non-dog owner people think that when they see a female dog squat to pee that the dog actually pooped and then they don’t see you pick it up.
That's a nice area if the weather is warm enough. SE AZ is higher than SW AZ. Consider visiting Lochiel an abandoned border crossing, and the San Rafael Ranch house just north of Lochiel. It was the location for the John Wayne movie McLintock. If your headed east there's a ton of other good stuff
Soon to retire here. Will be purchasing my first RV. I must say I do not plan on spending much, if any, time in RV parks. Boondocking and state parks for me. I watch many RVing life videos. So many people know so much information about other people it seems. I just like my privacy. I like friendly laid back folks like me.
That looked like a great area to boondock!! We will keep that area in mind. We had a issue with packrats getting up in the engine compartment in the truck one in Quartzsite.
I live in WA now but Southern AZ is where I hail from. My family’s from Bisbee and Sierra Vista area. I’m looking to go full time in the next year or so and plan to do a lot of boondocking down there
Blows my mind that the neighbors didn’t talk to you first! Btw, my first time on your site. You had me at Basenji! We had our half basenji/half Manchester terrier mix from 1957 on. He was a donation from one of the earliest basenjis in the US, who got loose from his Menlo Park CA owners. My dad rescued him….long story. Best dog ever! Have subscribed.
At one point with three dogs and a cat, they all wanted what someone else had more than what was in front of them. It’s so much easier with just two older dogs now. They each have a bowl and are welcome to switch if they want
Nicely done ! Your set up is very simular to ours. Maybe because we have a ORV & F350 & Andersen hitch as well.... Our Lippert auto levelers are finicky to start though. We often have to go thru the start up ~3x to get it to start. Not sure why?
Informative vid! Great editing. Safety note, Ford made an error for safety chain hook ups, don't de-rate your safety chains, by hooking them to the D-Ring made for climbing not towing. Be safe and have a great adventure.
That area was one of our favorite spots. The campground was full and we wound up at the third camping spot in from the highway. No cows and no neighbors. Perfect for us and our four Chihuahuas. Definitely a spot we plan to revisit. RV City is near there, if you have any rv problems. Great guys!
Empire Ranch is just one of the great spots in this area. I live in Vail and we do the trails in this area and we like to end up in Sonoita at the Meading Room.
We boondocked at Empire Ranch in 2017, nobody else around...guess things have changed. BTW I had a mouse issue in Colorado, I could hear scratching under the hood of our Class A. I used a hiking headlamp on strobe mode the rest of the night under the hood, no more scratching pretty sure it worked.
Was about to ask what part of the Midwest you were from by your "accents" then saw the MN plates. We're from WI so we've been "accused" as well. Great video. New Sub!
Too bad about the neighbor thing. But you're right that some pet owners ruin it for everyone. We've been camping so many times when people don't pick up after their pet. Or their dog barks all week long and it isn't relaxing. Your dogs are adorable and little June is doing so well!!!
Lunch looked great! I'll pass on the beer since I'm a wine lover. New camp looks so nice too. Question for you - what do you use for Louie and June for flea/tick medicine?
Thank you for being responsible dog owners! Finding a little pile of (domestic) dog doo is the best way to ruin a spot for me, because it means I have to clean up after someone else's pooch, or worry about my kids tracking around. And for Pete's sake, please don't allow your dogs to charge up to kids--it leads to heightened anxiety. Thank you! :) Happy trails!
I had the same reaction to being accused of not picking up after my dogs. I was speechless. Over the next few days, I noticed that the poop that was appearing in their yard was stray cat poop!
We see poop in our driveway sometimes. We live in a rural area and I know nobody is walking their dogs on our property. I think the poop is from a fox. It even looks a little different than dog poop.
I wonder why my two post do not appear. Maybe cause I included links of places you may want to vist the next time your in Arizona as we are native to Tucson, Az. We pickup our new Grand Design in Phx. next Thursday. Keith & Susan
Wow! Your video hit me I. Two different ways. First, I never see people with Basenji’s it seems. We lost our baby after 18 years last year. Your babies are beautiful! 2nd, my sister lives in Sonoita, also not a place you see on UA-cam and works as a volunteer guide at Empire. Thanks for the videos. We will subscribe!!
Love following along on your adventures. When you’re in the Tucson area and need a place to dump your tanks, we have a sewer connection for our trailers. Also if you want to park near the U of A we have space.

I can’t say I have a lot of respect for the anonymous complainers. If you care enough about an issue to speak up then put on your big girl pants and do it politely face to face. And you guys are doing such a fabulous job training your pups! 👏
Well said Carman! Thank you! 😊
Good way to get yourself shot these days. No thanks
Another tip. Turn your vehicle hvac to the off position. This causes the fresh air door to close and prevents rodents from entering the hvac compartment. It happened to a neighbor (dead mice). Had to tear the dash apart. Nasty!!!

We showed up to our locked, fenced, secure storage yard only to find someone had tried to steal our Rpod. The only thing that made it difficult enough to sway them from continuing the attempt while being on security cameras was that hitch lock. Great video! If the "ranger" thing ever happens again, tell him to go back to the lying nosey neighbors and tell them that without VIDEO EVIDENCE they are just troublemakers! Love you guys.
Thank Ron! It was such a weird thing to happen. Totally caught us off guard!
Just found you. Relaxing, down to earth video. Your dogs are the best. Can tell how much you love and enjoy them as part of your family.
We really enjoy your channel and now can't wait to see you & your fellow competitors on RV Unplugged every week!
your guys get along so great together which makes the time together so enjoyable. Kudos to you four!
With a female dog squatting to do all her business, non dog owner nosy neighbors may think #2 when it’s really #1. Good tips and explanation on the mice prevention! Thank you!
Such a great point Alan!
Yes! I was going to say this exactly. People think all dogs lift a leg and they don't. Females squat. We've gotten grief when walking our female dog.
Puppies learn much quicker when they have a full grown dog to learn from. Cute pup!
I just heard fabric softener sheets deter mice especially when you store the RV.
I agree with Chris, I like to get the flight and then choose the one I want to drink and in some cases fill a growler or two to take home.
I have found two squirrel nests in my engine compartment in the last year!! Now I spray a water/peppermint oil solution throughout the engine bay and each wheel well once every two weeks or after a rain day. Nothing since!!!! 🤞🤞🤞
Oh wow.... Squirrels! Glad they haven't been back!
Love that boondocking spot. Looks amazing!! The puppers look like they are doing great together!!!
Thanks for the video. With all that vacuum packed meat you should get into sous vide.
Joel LOVED copper brewery and said that was his favorite brewery in a long time. I think Roxie was his favorite.
Loving June! She is a sweet heart. And, we have had people give us the evil eye while walking Jack. Like they are watching to make sure we pick up. Picking up behind your pets is one of our pet peeves. Great video! You two are not far away from us.
Pronunciation for Chiricahua is "Cheer-a-cow-hwa" . Named for the Apache band. Great vid!
Indian Fry bread is the best!
The dogs looking up at the food are TOO CUTE!
You need a dron with camra to scout ahead. My biggest hate are people who set up in my proximity and then run a generator all day and or night.

I raise pastured pork and beef.. Wish more folks understood the difference in quality.. Thanks and greetings from the farm In S Carolina!
We tried mothballs around the tires. Worked great. Ended the problem.
Camping Empire Ranch this weekend. Super nice. Hit Copper Brothel Brewery last night. Finding a winery today. Thanks for the camping area.

You have 2 beautiful basenjis! I am a big fan of the breed and have a female brindle
Thank you very much! We love the brindle color B's...so rare! ( truthfully we kinda love them all 😊)
Great music choice on the campsite 😂. Should have joined us at the fairgrounds!
Use Irish ☘️ Spring soap around Rig and engine and back of bed of truck… keeps those critters away 🐁
We deal with people who don't pick up...we are responsible for our dogs too. Still, we mind our own business.
Some great Harvest Host Wineries in NE Ohio. 👍 And it’s on the way to Fingers Lakes! 😂
I never watch you guys that I don’t end up smiling. Good point on picking up the dog poop, even in the wild.
Thanks Mike! Appreciate that!😊
Man. We sure enjoy relaxing to your videos. Can’t wait until we can experience similar adventures. Keep up the fire!! Y’all rock!
Thanks a lot Darrell! Appreciate it!😊 You'll love it out here!
That sunrise 😍. Gods paint brush
Well done guys. We are gonna be in the Sonoita area in a few weeks so it was great to see some camping and dining options.
Hope you enjoy it! Beautiful area for sure!!!
Hi guys. New to your channel and we love it. My partner and I have a class C and are full time rving. Thnx for the video. Loved it loved it loved it!!
Hmmm, that is weird. Our leveler does work great on the first one. As long as we are not too far off from level that is.
Ah nice, thanks! We'll have to check that out next time! Such a great area!
First thing me watcher on your channel …. Great video …. Thank you ….. from Cali , Colombia 🇨🇴 in South America .
Was about to ask what part of the Midwest you were from by your "accents" then saw the MN plates. We're from WI so we've been "accused" as well. Great video. New Sub!
Great video! The dogs seem to get along great! Yeah I cant stand nosey neighbors!
Thank you! Yes, the dogs are doing great so far! Big change for Loiue as an only child !🤣
Oh wow a cat! 😂
Hey Keith! Yes, YT will auto delete comments with links. Congrats on the new GD! 🎉
My sister lived up by grassvalley california and mice ate all the coating off the wiring in her jeep Cherokee. Very expensive!😢😢😢
I've been accused directly once 😂 it's shocking yes all I did was held up the bag 🎒 😊
My club does a lot of bird dog competitions down there , shotguns and bird dogs got to love it!😊
I noticed looking at an Outdoors RV, they "weld" closed the A frame by the hitch so rodents can't crawl through into the underbelly, pretty cool!!
Interesting!
Good lord when you said new meat I was praying it wasn't going to be "Beyond Meat" LOL. Awesome video as always!
Mice in AZ love to eat the coating on the wires under the hood. Easy food & nesting.
Love following along on your adventures. When you’re in the Tucson area and need a place to dump your tanks, we have a sewer connection for our trailers. Also if you want to park near the U of A we have space.
Thanks Josh, appreciate the kind offer! 😊
I keep a Lucy string light under my truck camper and have never had any mice issues except one of my lights was chewed into four pieces one night
Oh my!
Camp the chircauahua mountains and you will get mice! Near portal AZ
