Enjoy your on the water vids - up here in New England and wade fishing all winter - making me want to take the drift boat out too - Something about toughing it out in the cold makes it better
Hey Alex- thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion. We’re also in winter lockdown near Grand Rapidsand it’s tough not to get out. Look forward to fishing with you on the White in March- Mike N.
HI Alex! Want to see some videos next Summer of some of that big Chinook fishing in the Lake as well as that great Lake Trout fishing out there too. You may just run into me out there doing that. Matt Wilder's been out there doing it. I'll probably be joining him. Hello to Russ. Friend of mine getting together a streamer (consumer) fly tying (fishing) show in the Northeast. Fresh & Salt. Should be a hit! Would like you and Russ to perhaps take part.
That'd be great to see you guys. There's also some big browns poking around in specific areas. I'm guessing I can get russ to do some dumb stuff to try and find those spring kings and browns like he use to.
Alex- Your vids in this style are more valuable and entertaining than the old school stuff on a network like jimmy Houston or Bill Dance. I just moved to MI from Colorado and it’s hit me hard with the amount of sunshine in the winter months here. Just getting out on the water makes me feel great. Can you do a boat set up vid? I see you have a stealth craft. I’ll check you links in the description too. Thanks for the efforts
Itll be a minute before I can do that. About to head to Arkansas for a few months. I do run two different boats for my trout fishing here in Michigan. I've got the smaller flycraft raft I use for one angler on small rivers and a clacka for my 2 client trips. I really think it's the best combo you can have in Michigan to most effectively cover our different types of fisheries.
Also, I appreciate your comments on the videos. I'm trying to be more authentic and original, no sponsors to keep happy which also means no money but its way more fun, and hopefully, entertaining
I'm running clamp on the side I can move back and forth easily. A chest clip, which gets the sweet chase footage. And a handle bar mount with the gopro boom on the stern. The stern camera catches a bit more if the settings are correct, in this video it wasn't. And I also have a polarized lens for the chest clip
I'm going to try. I guide 5 days a week the entire time I'm there so it'll get tricky. Hoping to still keep up with 1 fishing video a week just not sure how it will go
@@alexlafkasfishing do you have any spots open? I'm in Oklahoma and frequent the White. I would love to book a spot with you one day if you're available.
@FrostyAlbatross ive got weekends open but I try to keep it as close to 5 days a week as possible. I get even more cranky if I do more. Feel free to shoot me an email if you want though, alex@alflyfishing.com I typically end up booking some half days or Sundays throughout the winter I just do it last minute
I typically fish dries on my 6wts so I just get em that way. I'd definitely prefer them for streamer fishing. I'll probably just end up getting a 7wt for my light streamer stuff just been too cheap to pull the trigger on one lately
Alex- I’m front and center in your classroom. Learning a lot. Safe travels to the White. Can’t wait to see the upcoming videos!
Good to hear!

It's always fun and fish can get a little stupid when the fishing pressure goes down

Another Good video!
Thx man! What's fishing without a little bit of failure. I did think we got some cool footage of fish moving around, especially the one over the sand
I am loving your videos, awesome stuff. Just curious on your rigging for your gopros on the stealthcraft

Alex do you plan to keep making videos when you are down at the White? I feel like that would be amazing content if you do!

What’s the water temperature where you’re fishing these past few videos?
Mid 30s
@@alexlafkasfishing Appreciate it. Gives me the confidence to keep grinding on streamers through the winter here in CO lol.
Hey Alex. Do you prefer no fighting butts on your 6wts for streamers?
