      Thank you for that spin.
John lived to write music. He was constantly writing during that time. Just not releasing or playing for anyone. He decided to compile a bunch of these songs into an album and release it because he needed more drug money. It would be amazing to see what else he was working on.

it does however need to provoke an emotional response

Just keep in mind, the fact that you find this artistic isn’t because you’re smarter or more sophisticated than people who don’t. It’s great if you like it, and art is subjective, but I can’t stand art snobs. You don’t hold some profound intellect.

In order to really feel this song's true meaning you must listen to it right after you lose something / someone you truly loved. It feels strangely familiar and the screaming parts make you feel as though as you weren't alone at all. The ending sets a feeling of "ok, I had enough crying for now, I should get some sleep", which makes this the best song to listen whenever you're going through some hard times.

Its painful to hear this, John's state was terrible, and it's exageratedely deep. There were communities developing and sending each other tracks when you would have to sit patiently and wait for an hour to get a five minute track. Someone sent me Outside Space and I distinctly remember feeling like, wow, nobody has ever put together notes in a way that made me feel like this.

  • @CuredbyMusic

John is an inspiration to me because he lived through his self destruction...basically he survived his own ego that was destroying him. I feel that is all any person has to overcome in order to come out on the other side stronger. If we can't be stronger than our egos then we can't be healthy and share our love. Some people die from their lack of self love like River Phoenix did and John was right there almost dying himself. Some people live their entire lives without breaking free but it's like they never lived because they were still a slave to their mind. But John has found peace and you can hear it in the music he made after he got better and rejoined rhcp. This music is him in pain the music he made after is the peace he found after he learned how to love himself.

    • @nataliesuzy
      @nataliesuzy 6 років тому +1

CuredbyMusic I don’t think you’ve ever experienced addiction. I appreciate this perspective, but by the same token, he is not a slave to his ego or his mind. He was a slave to drug addiction, which is artificial chemical dependency. Nothing to do with who he is deep down to the core, or to do with his ego. It has to do with the heroin completely taking over his mind, making his ego and his acknowledgment of himself as a human being nonexistent.

This song is beautiful. If you don't like it I can't really blame you but something must not be getting through, maybe you aren't feeling it, but there's so much raw emotion in this song. The guitar is simple and played sloppy but that's what makes it beautiful. When I feel at my worst I listen to this song and it sums up my mood perfectly and makes me feel a little bit better. What I find most baffling about this song is that if you listen closely, it sounds like he's shuffling pages in between singing. Just the thought that there were strict, written lyrics to this song is amusing. "Hi, I'm a boy GURUGHLLGURRGLYLHLHBLEH!" (I loved this song from the moment I heard it.)

I really love this song! I love the guitar sound and his vocals too. I mean when you hear the vocals at the first time you hear this song, it´s very crazy and something, but when you listen a few times more, you´ll think it´s good (at least I).

I can understand why people do not like this music, it does sound like a person dying, but that's exactly what it is, Frusciante was so close to death when this song was recorded.
Not all of the songs on this album were recorded during this period, a lot of the album are songs that were written when he was writing for his first album but never made the final cut, and a few of them were recorded even before then.
I for one am fascinated by this song, and can't stop listening to this. You can fee

john's only song where he tells us how bad he is i think he was able to feel good enough to play .. maybe the lyrics come from the present moment we feel exhaustion, i already using strong drugs with a lot of excess and it's true that you get really tired and aware at the same time, i don't know if it does the same on every person but a sensitive person like john often ends up in depression alone

    You see me now
    While ago
You could shred this size only
You're the girl I will always be with
    Will be with, uh
I am masculine to all the lie
Hi, I'm boy and I know about him only
I hold a lovely feeling, know I made goog
    Give me he, I know
    Made her sky my (?)
Too high can't be we are
    Higher can be we are
    Higher can be we are
I could be we uh ah
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, ah, ah oh yeah
    Enter a uh
    Why happened all that?
    Alright...
We are we, we're all, come on
I'm only evil, a gold demon, oh
    I am yellow
    Kiss me there where
I bother told about her film and make her sanitary, oh
    I see, I mean
    Without this
    Like it's ocean
    Well I've been on there
With a vida vida skewer, uh yeah
    With a vida vida skewer
    Ai, ai, ai, oi, oi
    (Very high pitch) Help
You've seen the same other world is this, you always miss
Your headless eyes, lonely veins will house
    Whatever we, yeah
I was gonna dream that if we were, were, yeah oh
I wonder if we, oh, if we were all gas
    Heaven like a bearable shore
This time I lay, lay over there
    Dreaming a mistake
    I'm afraid
But which for more, by which
    Bad brown wears it bad
Wound, round, lonely dying to drain
This is very good, look at me for the colder
    Bad feel, bad sky
Will floor it, and dry and right
Land fly on, lame life, life lame, lies on land
    Skies fuck you
    I wanna kiss, meet you
    Drops into
A reminisce rains, for a father arches it's back
    Well into a bowl
It isn't so task, true key
    Insane, dream, heart
    Leave back
    Daughter, danger life
    Why?
    'Cause they all know
